Because KITT was originally simply an improved version of Michael's original car.

So why would KARR be a black Trans Am?

Yeah, I want to see him come back. As that would pave the way for the original Michael and KITT to return.

Ohh...yeah! But, I wonder about what kind of car would KARR would be because they are not going to bring the old back, they are going to bring an new, improve and maybe badder KARR into the show. Plus, it would be sweet to have the Original Michael Knight and KITT back to join forces with Michael Knight JR. and KITT Mustang.
