  • They were ahead of the rest of the music industry with their unique sound, loved the trippy sound...

  • I think this is one of the Greatest Physco Songs Ever and i'm only 52 !!!!

  • Wow, first time in 30 years I've listened to this straight. Still sounds awesome!

  • ANYONE who says that "Inna Gadda Da Vida" is their only good song...is a moron, period.

  • @brnleague99 agreed

  • I "slept learned" Soul Experience. Played over and over while we were asleep. The song is a part of my soul, n o pun intended

  • rich and heavy psychadelia' think i'vde every albumk

  • Iron kikks remember the time what it was i was so much younger then I am much older know sorry stole that from the Byrds be well babeys

  • Iron kikks remember the time what it was

  • Iron kikks

  • yeah you are correct....whoops. same thing

  • it wasn't lee dorman, it was phillip seymour hoffman, the bass player of the butterfly from 75-77

  • @rockandrollgraveyard Uh, no. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is an Oscar-winning actor. I believe his name was Philip Kramer.

  • I heard a news broadcast several years ago that a road crew in Ca. found his van in a ravine and his body was still behind the wheel. Also, he was really a "rocket scientist" and for years after he vanished, the govt and his family thought he had been taken by the Russians

  • Is it true that Lee found a way to time travel and the "man" did him in? I just heard that so don't think I made it up.

  • Lee Dorman is incredibly underrated; Eric Brann is Fripp and Belew before Fripp and Belew. Very underrated group!

  • just a kid in the 60 's but i remember it ,through the smoke.

  • I honestly believe that Lee Dorman is the finest rock bass player of this era. I listen to Iron butterfly for two reasons: Incredible music, and Lee Dorman. I just love it- I love a bass line as complex as what he plays.

  • @megaman61293 Dorman is the most underrated bassist of all time.

  • @TheClam88

AGREED thought the same 44 years ago!

  • Forty years later and I can still remember all the lyrics and every note, had the pleasure of seeing them live when I was 17,

  • Harken to a day.. when the music was as heavy as the acid..sweet

  • In The Time Of Our Lives (Album Version) - Iron Butterfly [San Diego, California] - 1969 - "The band's trademark heavy guitars, however, are still evident on such tracks as "In the Time of Our Lives" and "It Must Be Love". ... despite its nightmarish musical tones and morbid lyrics, "In the Time of Our Lives" managed to reach #96." - Ball (Mips) [Import] (Victor Intertainment, Inc Japan)-2006.

NOTE: wikipedia excerpt say: "The next album, Ball, reached No.03 on the charts

  • Every big time musician owes a lot of thanks to the Iron Butterfly. Without them there would (probably) be no platinum records. They should be in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame (if they're not already)!

  • Absolute Classic!

  • Just got this LP today. Awesome.

  • Just bought this vinyl today been looking for months when i was 17 i got the heavy vinyl.woooooooot!! only 1 vinyl left.

  • I was 18. Hearing this again after all that time gives me chills of joy. Wow.

  • Yo lo tengo en cinta y se escucha fabuloso, eran ampex...de excelente fidelidad, lo maximo IRON BUTTERFLY!!!

  • system of a down sound like iron butterfly in my opinion

  • This is the most haunting of all their songs but I've always thought there was something weird about it. Something very self-rightious that just bothers the hell out of me.

  • I wish this group would have stayed together longer....so many people only know them for the one song and they were really great...pioneers!

  • Never again will you ever see another Iron Butterfly

  • That is truly a correct statement...........there will never be anyone like Iron Butterfly!

    "Ball" is the best!

  • It's not what I was looking for. Can you tell me where I can find "Best years of our lives"?

  • @MrPifta check album "Metamorphosis"

  • @krkutovaca Aham. I have the song. Where is it uploaded? I can't even find the lyrics!

  • This was the original heavy music. Before Sabbath and the rest. My Dad really enjoyed these guys, and I enjoyed dusting off his vinyl and discovering this music as well.

  • Here goes my death wish people. I think the genre' " Metal" and the term Heavy ' got their start with the Iron Butterfly. They broke nationally in 1967-amid the" Eloi" & the flowers...

  • @DaDa2Phlux xactly right dude i was there! only 8 years old but thanks to my big sis i heard every album the day it came out

  • A real knock-out song ... saw Iron Butterfly playing this one on september 26th in Helmond, Holland @ Lakei, with original bass-player Lee Dorman ... check my video's

  • It's hard to pick just one, but I think this song is probably my favorite song from IB. The bass is awesome!

  • @dinotduda I like the 'parade march' drums on the way out . . really classy . .

  • I still remember seeing them with Blues Image in San Antonio .. back in the 60's ... like it was yesterday ... Absolutely incredible...

  • GRAV - SICK THOUGHTS

  • Their will never be another Iron Butterfly.

  • @MrBEB123 Ha ha, yeah! They put the H in HEAVY. Helped that acid go down better.

  • @MrBEB123 You R so right !!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish music was still like this now of days wish i could of gone to woodstock that would of been epic

  • This was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo far ahead of it's time!!!!!!!!

  • @Jazmckay was? i think it still is. all of it is. i have never heard any other band like iron butterfly. in my opinion is still raw, fresh. Iron Butterfly wil always be at the peak of their mountain.

  • @xXBlinDXx12 >>>> you are so right!!!

  • This was also featured in the movie "Music Madness," I think it was called, a film from 1970 that featured this band and many others.

    Thanks for the post.

  • So glad this song is finally here. My favorite Iron Butterfly song. I like the idea of flapping butterfly wings at the beginning! I also think it sounds like life emerging from the void, and then at the end of the song, the music stops, and only time beats on, slowly fading with consciousness. Or not, but I just noticed that tonight.

  • Possibly my favorite song on this album, i just picked it up on vinyl a few weeks ago.

  • thanks for posting this- nice to hear this song again after so many years- especially the flapping of iron wings as the song begins....
