been a life long nelson fan, and had the good fortune, together with my friend, Iain Young, to write the liner notes for Rick's Rarities on Ace records. I almost always refer to the 'Nelson/Burton' sound, as I feel James played (literally) a vital part in the productions. Of course, Jimmy Haskell, (RN arranger) put it all together, including the string sections. RN should have listened to JB advice and moved onto Country, but it wasn't to be. He's sadly missed.

@19450william Just been looking the album up - a mighty 28 pages of liner notes! You're right about JB, I'm always aware of JB and those slick licks. And don't forget JO's punchy bass-lines, at their best on this and Travellin'' Man (my fav).

like so many of RN album tracks this song shoud have been promoted as a single. His first 7 albums were loaded with songs almost too good to be released on albums only. Check out Rick's Rareties on Ace records, some great never been heard before material. Bill Parker

Happy Birthday Ricky - May 8th.,will always be a special day when your beautiful songs come to life & bring me wonderful memories of watching you sing those great songs at the end of the TV show. I'm thrilled to know someone posted this particular favorite of mine here.I actually have his album from when I bought it in real time(yes folks,I'm ancient),but don't get a chance to play my old vinyls. Oh yeah I'm in love, My one desire & Lucky Star where my instant favorites then,& I still love 'em now.

Delighted to thrill! Whereas I got rid of most of my LPs, I kept my 5 Rick(y) Nelson LPs. But they were bought around 1980, not 1960.

A super great one by Rick! I first heard this one off an old mono Rick Is 21 album I saw at the library back in the late 70's. Blew me away! I later bought a brand new French import lp of Rick Is 21 (in stereo)! Sounds spectacular... all of the tracks!

Oh Yeah, I'm In Love is a great "full steam ahead" powerhouse of a tune. I digged it from the very start. !! There is an Ozzie & Harriet episode that has Rick doing this song !! (one of the "lost" episodes that the Disney channel ran)

I also first heard this around 1980 when I bought the "Rick is 21' LP, a stereo re-pressing. I got rid of a lot of LPs, but I kept all my Rick Nelson ones. This is CD release of that album. I knew Rick would use Ozzie & Harriet as a showboat for his latest song, but I've never seen him singing this one. That'd been worth seeing.
