@dustinfox2009 are you kidding? dobermans are bigger, heavier, stronger, and generally more aggressive. shepherds look a lot tougher than they really are because of their big coat. Don't just assume a shepherd would fuck up a doberman if you can't even spell it right
A German shepherd is easily 2x the strength of a Doberman, and is way more durable. I like both breeds, but a German shepherd is far superior in all ways over a Doberman.

My Shepard just passed away at 17. Most loyal dog you will ever see. One day a stray pit bull wandered on our lawn and my Shepard got out and attacked it. The pit bull limped away bleeding while my dog was not even scratched. Very protective dogs.
@KingShruikan I'm so sorry for your loss. They are the most wonderful companions anyone could ever ask for. If you had your dog for 17 years, it well exceeded the normal life expectancy for a German Shepherd. You were quite lucky to have it for so long.

@wadelavender when a dogs tail wags that does NOT mean that they are necessarily friendly. that means that they are excited, but it could be an aggressive excited. when my dog gets aggressive towards other dogs her tail often wags. and my dad was nearly attacked by a pitbull he judged to be friendly because of it's wagging tail.
I own a heidelberg german shepherd, my neighbor owns a dobe. unfortunately for my neighbor, a tree fell on his fence and the doberman ATTEMPTED to breech my shepherds territory and ended up in the animal clinic, leaving not a single scar on my shepherd. both are beautiful animals but i would never put a dobe against a shep anyday. also notice the shepherd stands its ground and resists hopping around unlike the doberman...
I'm not a very big dog person. meaning i dont like alot of dogs. but i do like german shepherds. they are really great animals and very protective as well as lovable if trained right. but never trust a pit doberman or a rott. but people make them mistakes anyways. and most of em end up later on down the line get hurt or killed.

@Dudeylou No Doberman's are a German breed. Second of all You don't know what your talking about. Thirdly the reason a Doberman's ears stand up is because there cut and trained to do so. The only Difference between a Doberman from the UK vs USA is that tail cropping is illegal in the UK so they would have tails. The bloodline is the same no matter where the dogs are located they all originate from Germany and were originally bred by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann. My AKC dobe is 112.6 very big.

@Dudeylou A Dog isnt gonns be bigger because of where its at its how its fed and cared for. Proper nutrition is more important than where the dogs at. Example both my dogs parents were under 90 pounds, but on a raw food diet my dog hit 115 within the first year. Also even though its illegal you should have there tails cropped the reason is that they are very prone to shattering.
@thatguru877 The only reason people dock tails and crop ears is for cosmetic reason's these days mate it's a cruel practice that should stop. The only reason I would agree with any dog being cropped or docked in these times would only be if the dog was being used as a LGD otherwise it's totally unnecessary and cruel!
@TheInsomniac247 My dogs tail shattering is alot more painful than it being nipped at birth. Ears are cropped cosmetically NOT tails you are obviously misinformed. Dobermanns have tails prone to breakage which is painful and can cause the tail to curl in growth, so no its not "unnecessary and cruel". It is however a medical procedure and not to be done by someone unqualified.

@wadelavender when a dogs tail wags that does NOT mean that they are necessarily friendly. that means that they are excited, but it could be an aggressive excited. when my dog gets aggressive towards other dogs her tail often wags. and my dad was nearly attacked by a pitbull he judged to be friendly because of it's wagging tail.

I own a heidelberg german shepherd, my neighbor owns a dobe. unfortunately for my neighbor, a tree fell on his fence and the doberman ATTEMPTED to breech my shepherds territory and ended up in the animal clinic, leaving not a single scar on my shepherd. both are beautiful animals but i would never put a dobe against a shep anyday. also notice the shepherd stands its ground and resists hopping around unlike the doberman...

I'm not a very big dog person. meaning i dont like alot of dogs. but i do like german shepherds. they are really great animals and very protective as well as lovable if trained right. but never trust a pit doberman or a rott. but people make them mistakes anyways. and most of em end up later on down the line get hurt or killed.

@Dudeylou No Doberman's are a German breed. Second of all You don't know what your talking about. Thirdly the reason a Doberman's ears stand up is because there cut and trained to do so. The only Difference between a Doberman from the UK vs USA is that tail cropping is illegal in the UK so they would have tails. The bloodline is the same no matter where the dogs are located they all originate from Germany and were originally bred by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann. My AKC dobe is 112.6 very big.

@thatguru877 Yes i understand that they originate from Germany this specific type of dog but what i am saying is that whenever i see a doberman in America it seems a lot smaller than the ones i have seen in Britian. And i know the ears are pinned up not naturally like that, its just most pinschers have them pinned up. This is just in my opinion and what i have seen. Maybe it is just a coincidence that all the dobermans i have seen in Britian have been a lot bigger than the ones in..

@Dudeylou A Dog isnt gonns be bigger because of where its at its how its fed and cared for. Proper nutrition is more important than where the dogs at. Example both my dogs parents were under 90 pounds, but on a raw food diet my dog hit 115 within the first year. Also even though its illegal you should have there tails cropped the reason is that they are very prone to shattering.

@thatguru877 The only reason people dock tails and crop ears is for cosmetic reason's these days mate it's a cruel practice that should stop. The only reason I would agree with any dog being cropped or docked in these times would only be if the dog was being used as a LGD otherwise it's totally unnecessary and cruel!

@TheInsomniac247 My dogs tail shattering is alot more painful than it being nipped at birth. Ears are cropped cosmetically NOT tails you are obviously misinformed. Dobermanns have tails prone to breakage which is painful and can cause the tail to curl in growth, so no its not "unnecessary and cruel". It is however a medical procedure and not to be done by someone unqualified.

You payed the vet for a service that many people either can't afford or simply don't want to pay for. As for confronting the guy who bit the tails off the Jack Russell puppies...well I was 10 years old at the time so what could I have possibly done to stop the guy? if I was in that situation now(at 36) the guy would've been hurt and reported for it.

Thirdly where a dog was born does not attest its training. Fourth working dogs in Germany have mandatory cropped tails. Middle eastern people bred Kangal dogs but they still fight them is that right?
