@grrrr17 Because they don't have some single alphabets like T (there's 'Chi' but it's different. Considering that English is not their native language, they have to add certain vowels at the end of the names to make it as close as possible to the original names.

@wwh92 also the european and american release of ToS2 had additional features like head accesories(europe only), skit library(europe only), motion controlled shortcuts(nobody ever uses them and the whole being able to load a complete save data from original ToS for a reward at the beggining of the game

They made an permament exclusive deal with nintendo with ToS (a rarity at the time) basically blocking off the chances of us getting the PS2 version. That and I think they were afraid of the FFX stomping it.

@megamegamanz while this game does have some new content like hi-ougis and costumes, if you compare the framerate. i think it was like 30 fps for ps2 version and 50-60 on gamecube. so really, i'd say the GC version is better than ps2. but thats just the opinion of a single fan of the tales series.

Its also why the updated PS2 version didn't release outside of japan.

And if you thought this was unfair look at all the extras Tales of Graces F(PS3) has over the Wii version extra DLC Music,Costumes,Excel. Mode,and Future Arc

So its all about money luckily Graces F is being released in the US

@pikalink2 thats because Nintendo limited the gamecube to 1.6gb mini DVDs Tales of Symphonia is about 2.3gb thats about the same size as Kingdom Hearts which was a short game Kingdom Hearts 2 used up way more and this is without the extras that the Final Mix Disc had.

Its just like Tales of Phantasia the original didn't have Mystic Artes but the PS1 added 2 for Cless and the PSP version added voices for all scenes(or most)

This was just extra ideas thats all.

@Doomed100 Wow I hadn't noticed. Thats a damn good question though, especially since it became one part of the Material Blade.

@Zequire1 the switch is because Flamberge must not be used in anyway, aka, Material Blades cannot be equiped, in order for Kratos to trigger Shining Bind. He still has his original weapons stats even tho it shows Flamberge, and no element is added to the move, so it's purely a visual change in the end.

@jokiu4 Actually, most of the bosses in the Game Cube version have Hi-Ougi too. If you fight a boss in Hard or Mania, they'll use a Hi-Ougi. I noticed this when I fought the final boss on Hard for the first time, and he used Indignation Judgement right after I used it at the start. Kvar, Magnius, Pronyma, and even Volt have been seen using theirs too :D

They're just missing the anime cut-ins, however >_>'

@Jonnifan The first game could have some of its fighting mechanics tweaked (for example: Regal can't pull off his hi-ougi if one of your allies is using a spell, which is a shame because it's such a good move), but not to the extend of TotA. That game's fighting system was too easy with free run, ToS had it nailed down.

@zappy They should also fix the system where if multiple characters are using an advanced spell and one of them cast first, the rest have to wait longer. I know it was to reduce lag, but it was quite annoying when playing Genis or if you needed Raine to heal.

Notice that she is in Overlimit, is in red health (15%), all allies are down, and she has to have a few other skills with rediculous requirements in effect. To top it all off, you don't just hold a button or two, you have to do an input sequence (like in the Budokai games).

It's a chore to say the least.

Most of the other Hi Ougis aren't in the Gamecube version. Only the one from Lloyd, Genis and Colette.

@kanetidus no not really, even if you don´t know anything about the language you will get it sooner or later, Symphonia is pretty... straigth forward, and if you played the GC version, you will have minus problems with directions ( I think), the menu items and all, is just trial and error, and besides Symphonia menu is nothing like Hearts menu, at least that one is more complex, about the items..easy, you always will remember the prices and besides 30%TP,etc. make it ovbious what you will buy
