I think he was referring to the old story of Van Halen requiring a bowl of only brown M&Ms backstage at all of their shows. Mostly it's about rock stars being able to request any damn thing, and I think he mixed up brown and green.
The shows for that DVD were filmed in NYC in 2005. The old MSI shtick was to be more down on themselves during the live act. Hence the cries of "MSI SUX" (which has made it onto merch) and the spitting and giving the finger. The first time I saw MSI, the spit from the front row was a constant shower.
But that has all pretty much stopped, either because the band decided they were done with pretending to be hated, or because the newer fans don't get irony.
I wish they would come to NC, but it seems like they are always in the UK or up north. It sucks living in the south, because the bands we get down here are like zz top and country bands. And as for the age discussion, Im 16 and most msi fans that i personally know are under 18.
They came to Raleigh with Project Revolution (2007), and on there own (2008), both were great shows. Then they were also in Asheville (2008) also a great show. You just have to keep track of the tour dates on their website they come here a lot.
Freakin' awesome. I was wondering how old most of their fans are? I'm 32 and appreciate their music cause it's like NOTHING ELSE. I'm a big Marilyn Manson fan too. MSI reminds me of a cross between Alice Cooper/Marilyn Manson and Jack from Will and Grace. That's a weird combo but it friggen' works brilliantly. Anybody else here older than 18?
I really don't know how old most of their fans are. I'm 23, and when I go to the shows the over 21 section is always really crowded, but there's a HUGE amount of kids under 18 there as well.
If I had to guess I'd say their average fan age might be 20, but I know fans as old as their late 40s.
from what I heard from a friend who saw them up close(had a photopass at projekt revolution) said that only one or two of them was used, and the other has electronics in it (to play the synth stuff)
Which show? I'm hoping to go to the Starland Ballroom show in NJ.
I wouldn't be too worried about being crushed, it gets a little uncomfortable in the front for sure, but if you're off to the side or not in the very front row, it's not too bad. Unless you're really tiny, then I'd try to bring somebody bigger along to use as a shield.
don't be scarred of crowds kid. I doubt MSI will be that dangerous of a show, and even if it is find some cool people to stand by and you'll be fine. I'm a pretty big guy and I usually make sure people around me don't get hurt, its not that rare at shows.
It's the Kodak EasyShare V610, which has recently been discontinued, but you can still get them from the Kodak website and various other sellers. I highly recommend it, because besides the good video quality, it has 10x zoom, and can still fit in your pocket. That way security guards don't hassle me, because they think it looks like a shitty little camera.
What I find 2 B the biggest load of bullshit about this performance of Mastermind is that from all the live vidz Ive seen of this song at the line where he says"Just like Columbine"is replaced by"Just like 69"which is gay as hell but this performance he used the original lyrics. So I went 2 the June7th show in DenverColorado youfollowalong?Well the motherfucker said the whole 69 thing? He had a perfect opportunity,I still screeched the real lyrics, maybe Jimmy got a wild hair up is ass 4 this show
The early live versions (before the album came out), and maybe even the demo (haven't listened to it in awhile, I forget), used the "69" line. So really, 69 might be the "original" lyrics, and "columbine" is just what he decided to use on the cd.
Just like in Animal when he sometimes uses the lyrics from 5 years ago, and sometimes uses the IF lyrics.
Jimmy mostly sings what he feels like. Also, 69 is only gay as hell if both participants are of the same sex. Otherwise it's straight as hell.
Yeah, apparently I had it confused with the "Due" demo, the "Mastermind" one is just a myspace preview clip, and doesn't have the 69/columbine line in at all. Must have just been the live vids I saw.
No, it's in Littleton, Colorado. As near as anybody can figure out, the "Oh, Pennsylvania" part is referring to the Amish school shooting at West Nickel Mines School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
But that could be a coincidence, and only Jimmy knows for sure.
What are you talking about? Of course this was filmed in Philadelphia, I was there too (obviously). She was asking where the school "Columbine" was located, and probably asked since he mentions Columbine and Pennsylvania in the song Mastermind.
Way to not know what you're talking about and look like an idiot.
