  • Ah my motif! I played this number with Alex Corners son circa 1970, oh we played n' we played... oh mama how it hurt, in the section labeled shirts

  • My favourite thing in the world apart from tits.

  • The missing link between The Beatles and Monty Python. Gawd bless the bloody lot of them.... ;-)

  • Hij is goed

  • These guys are mental!!! Love it :)

  • hey larco,I dont know what you mean. Is Greg Lake an American? I think the lead guitarist is from that continent but hey, music good knows no borders, yeah?

  • @51deanok greg lake is from shapwick, dorset, england. When my uncle was 16 he played drums for Greg Lake and Robert Fripp. Still keeps in touch with "bob"

  • makes me proud to be British =D

  • @Gyphia you have in in one!!

  • minuto 2:45 el mejor de la historia.... xD

  • y e s ! ! !

  • they were so brilliant.viv was pure genius. Is that greg lake in there on bass?

  • @51deanok That's got to be Dennis Cowan. He's on the back of the "Tadpoles" LP.

  • @51deanok not it fuckung ain't! Best thing about the comments here - no fucking Yanks.

  • @larconeptic1

Except me. Whoops....seems I've disrupted your little United Kingasm, doesn't it?

  • Six people are really fuck up...

  • In the end when the singer had the mask on he kind of looked like Will Smith

  • Anyone know what kind of hat is Neil Innes wearing? Looks like a green pimp hat (magenta leopard-strap).

  • is that edgar wright on guitar

  • @dismemberednecromorf Edgar Wright's Twitter brought me here... lol I'm so glad it did.

  • @dismemberednecromorf uuuhm. dont know who edgar wright is, but he was not in the bonzos. if its the guy with the big hat your referring to its neil innes.

  • Edgar Wright sent me here.

  • Rest in Peace Viv, you were the greatest

  • i love the way viv belches right on cue ,genius.

  • has it gotten around that this is the greatest band of all time yet?

  • This is terribly, horribly, eternally absurdly PERFECT!!!

  • briliant

  • les vrais déconneurs qui ont inspiré en france "au bonheur des dames" en 1976

  • Keith Lemon!!!

  • this is the funniest... so avant-garde comedy!

  • Peter Cook, Vivian Stanshall, and Stephen Fry. Add John Cleese, and Graham Chapman, and you have a comedy team that would never be questtioned for their intellect in America. Since three of the most important members are now deceased, it's only a fantasy.

  • I used to have a wardrobe with labelled sections, including shirts. I cracked up when I first heard this 40 years ago and it still makes me weep with laughter

  • Captainsoul, I think it was a skit at Peter green, brilliant stuff whoever tho.

  • @75da I thought Viv Stanshall covered that with "Do the Blues Sing the Whites"? That was a direct knock towards John Mayall, and Fleetwood Mac, with Peter Green, and Jeremy Spencer. The guitar hero worship for this solo (CoYM) is directed towards Jimi Hendrix (Neil Innes' teeth on the guitar), and Eric Clapton. The Bonzo's in the 60's liked to take the "piss" out of guitarists who took themselves too seriously. Out of the bunch, Peter Green was the most humble.

  • The Clapton is God parody is excelent....i love this

    Jim

  • 1:39 was this guy in stingray once?

  • Five people need to get a sense of humour ...

  • @radstainforth Its 6 now, 6 people that need to get a life.

  • BEST VIDEO EVER

  • I LOVE the guitar solo!!!

  • hi, Im looking for big sid,we were pals backin the sixtys, does any know where he is

thanks for your help. battalion (STAN).

  • This is the B-side to our single sports fans, and I hope it makes you very sick. I'm joking, we're very nice chaps really.

  • The world was never ready for the bonzo's.... watching this I don't think it still is!! A superb parody of the bands of it's day. Watch Neil Innes in "The Ruttles" a brilliant beatles send up. The "ginger geezer" was Vivian Stanshall... a comic genius and mad-cap englishman famous for his quotes..... "it was a great party until someone found the hammer" my favourite!

  • Too silly. Nothing to see here. Far too silly.

  • Neil Innes doing the falling-down-the-stairs-guitar solo!

  • this is completely mental but absolute genius

  • Love it! Remember them doing this on TOTP, brilliantly and fantastically anti-normal - gave me hope!

  • Silly, silly, funny!

  • 1 of the worlds best voices to sing elvis. so great

  • That is so Punk Rock!

  • when viv brings his fingers to his nose after "giraffe", i just die! comedic genius.

  • Nice chaps and a nice guitar solo. and a nice burp

  • I wish I was born in 1950 to be around and old enough to appreciate stuff like this when it happened!

  • @Shindai that music is noot the same in 2000s. now is justin bieber and punk rock like green day..

  • @Shindai Why not in 1960? You would have appreciated this stuff more at the age of 8.

  • @pinchold Coz I'd wanna be around for the introduction of rock n roll too :)

  • I swear, there is not one single genre they cannot perfectly replicate

  • there's nun funnier... they go all the way up to 11.

  • Viv et al - superb

  • HAHAHAHA I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

  • OMG Get it together

  • the guy on the rightmost was really rocking out. lol

  • Im born 1993 and i just f**king love the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band

  • It's all so very... MODERN!!!

  • HAHAHAH FUCK YES!

  • One of the greatest groups out of England!!!!! Long live the Bonzo's. Buy their cd's! Beast of the Bonzo's is a great best of.

  • is it wrong that i actually thing the solo kicks fucking ass?

  • @guitar19904 You are not wrong. This Mr Innes solo is genius. You have to be a master to play so beautifully badly.

  • @guitar19904 not at all its fuckin cool

  • he's in pain oooooo

  • There is no way that is a live recording

  • Right, Rawlison End, Track 7 off of 'Let's Make Up and Be Friendly'. Good Track, but I prefer 'I Love To Bumpity Bump'.

And yes, been listening to Camel for about thirteen years now, and never get tired of them. They were a bit more symphonic than the Bonzos (and not nearly as goofy).

  • A band with personality.

    Perfection.

  • Love St Vivian - and gladly, we believe, from a safe distance

  • @utz14

    Do you mean it ....

  • guitar solo is a classic as are the entire band.....luv'em

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA....

this was what was called an underdub in the 60s.... miming along to studio tracks, with a live vocal... something used to this day in some form.

  • sheer brilliance!

  • Comment removed

  • Watching this always gives me some faith in humanity. Cheers Viv.

  • this is the funniest shit ive ever seen

  • That guitar solo is a fitting accompaniment for Legs Larry's silent tap dance.

  • I love how they didn't just play, they put on a show. True entertainment.

  • hi vinyl, did you know that there used to be a record shop on the border of bayswater and portobello called vinyl solution? it was the best record shop i've ever been in. i used to spend my saturday mornings in there while my clothes tumbled round in the machines in the bagwash across the road. ta for the bonzos refreshment by the way. the future of rock and roll.

  • Dr. Demento is going off of the air :-(

    -psygnsup-

  • You should have seen the damage they did with random thunderflashes in the Tigers Head Catford - the best entertainment ever! Brilliant - all I can say is "frying pan frying pan"

  • World's worst guitar solo

    ONLY A MASTER LIKE INNES

    could pull this One Off!!!!!

  • @bkeay100 What about the sax solo in 'Big Shot'? That's gotta come in second!

  • @dharmaseed

Bis Shot is one of my favorites

"Do you have a light Mac?

No, but I do have a dark brown overcoat!

  • @bkeay100 And me!

"I studied the swell of her enormous boobs, and said:

Baby you're so far ahead, it's beautiful!!"

  • @dharmaseed

"What was I to tell my wife? I was beaten up again?

Lets Face it She s credulous as Hell" Have You ever heard "Rawlinson's End" ?

There are some Great one liners in that Masterpiece

  • @bkeay100 I have pretty much every CD by the Bonzos (most of them with hilarious liner notes), the BBC documentary on Viv, Cornology (three disc set) and a collection of videos by the Bonzos. Were you speking of the album Sir Henry, or the track Sir Henry? I havent; seem the movie or heard the whole Viv solo album , but you're right, the track is great!

  • @dharmaseed

No the bit I m referring to is on the Album "Let s Make Up and Be Friendly"

you probably won t find it on YOU TUBE

    Rawlinson's End

"Its been Three Years since Madge and Bobby Rawlinson pulled up roots and were arrested by The Parks Department"

Also I noticed you like "Camel" they are almost in the same class as The Bonzos, good band!

  • Thanks for the share

    plingplongy Top Song.

  • Bonzos

    Incomparable

    Unparalleled

The Best..... in the section labeled shirts

  • RE: MMT

Yep, when the men are separated from the ladies in a small pup tent. The guys go to a strip club. That's our boys the Bonzos playing. Bonzos also recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Check out their awesome tribute to the Beatles in "Don't Get Me Wrong"!

  • @Neugen They did a great pisstake too, in "Give Booze a Chance." Genius.

  • I want a hat like Neil's. No, seriously, I do.

  • After several years and hundreds of listens to this song I can make the following highly impartial statement with absolute conviction: This is actually the best song of all time. Ever. EVER! Gaaaaarrrrgggghhh! Going to vomit with excitment at the guitar solo!!!! Now to watch the Sir Robin minstrel scenes from Search For The Holy Grail several thousand times.

  • From a Hawai'i 'Bonzo' lover, this is fantastic. Still the greatest guitar solo ever. Loved the choreography.

  • "Oh, I'll never wash it!" I love Viv Stanshall, and all the Bonzos... great stuff

  • I love this group - I love this song - they are toooooooooooooooooo funny. The satire is great - I did not know they were connected with the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour album. I just found them through a comment on You Tube while listening to Death Cab for Cutie. Far out baby - lol.

  • @scutecrone They are in the MMT video playing along side a stripper I believe.

  • Neil, take me now! Love the Bonzos - amazing song! Viv is pretty amazing on this one too.

  • fbn ... the guitar solo is utterly extraordinary ... it takes talent to simulate such a horrible solo ... u r obviously not a guitarist. sweet essence of giraffe. actually neil innes sounds like neil young on a bad day.

  • It's called surrealist humour.

  • The Best

  • I love the Bonzos! Thanks for sharing!

  • I read somewhere this song had the worst guitar solo ever. Now i understand why

  • This is the Best guitar solo ever!!!!!!! Can't you tell its a P**S Take?

  • this is the b side of our single sportsfans hope it makes you sick AHAHAHAAHHAHAHAH

  • what terribly nice chaps..

  • Thanks for this! LOVED The Bonzos!

The Bonzos were influenced by The Goons style of comedy....with a bit of American musician Spike Jones thrown in....

As most Bonzo fans probably know, Neil Innes later worked with Monty Python,, as well as performed in their live shows.

  • ´Canyons ´...OMG , dis is sooo DEEP !

  • The Monty Pytons of popmusic in the sixties!

  • Man this brings back so many memories...I pity the fool who never heard the Bonzo's

  • Rodney the raincoat hangs out in a coat store

He's never seen his own wife in the nude.

A man was arrested today. for something He put on display !!!

    BONZOS Incomparable!!!

  • Neil Innes SHREDS!

    Best guitar solo ever.

  • @jjdecani The NME gave him the Guitar solo of the week award for that.

  • Oh, oh, ohohoh, I hurt!

    Heeeee's in pain!

    lol

  • la putq maere

  • World's worst guitar solo, only Niel Innes

is capable of this accomplishment TROUSER PRESS BABY!!

  • ... I have Vics original m/s for this song and a letter from him confirming this. It is for sale at a starting bid of £3k ...

  • Nowadays, no one has the guts, creativity or intelligence to ever try imitating what the Bonzo's did so well. Ginger Geezer please come back!

  • @julesplym Bloodhound gang, couple of years back

  • Thank you for posting this - I have this on a very old VHS tape & I worry about playing it as the tape is so old .

  • viv stanshall RIP
