@ReconSniperGuy Yes. Make a turbosquid account (its free). Go to the link in the video description, it will take to to the helicopter. In the upper right hand corner there should be a "download' button. Click it. This should take you to your "purchases and downloads" page, where the helicopter should be. Beneath the helicopter, there are two links, click the second one, "Apache_OBJ.zip." Once this downloads, open blender, go to file>Import>Wavefront. Navigate to your download and voila.
@lucasB823 tanks alot! It realy gona help. and sorry to keep asking stuff but how to you place it on your fotage like you did on the battlefield 3 video?
@ReconSniperGuy This isn't my video =P. But i know how to do it, its a little bit difficult though. You have to track the camera. There are several ways to do this. If you have a PC you could use the free Voodoo camera tracker (google, "voodoo camera tracking"). Another, more elegant alternative is to download blender 2.6 Tomato Branch, this is a build of blender that is not officially released yet. It has a built in camera tracker. But mostly your on your own. Look up some tutorials.
i would give up all the info i learned on c++, c#, c, visual basic, javascript, and php just to be able to make something as good as this. you have a talent ;D
I like the model, but I think the texture needs to be improved a little, maybe give it some darkened/worn areas such as where the outer metal connects with each other.
hey i have a question. umm how do you render a full animation? i only know how to render a certain frame and stuff but nobody has explained to me how to render a full animation/movie (such as this camera circling the apache)
also how do you add a sky all of my backgrounds are black D:
@RevolutionStudiosPro you must animate a camera and then batch render. Maya gives you a bunch of images. then use after effects or whatever you want to make a video. (also you can view your rendered sequence with Fcheck under "File --> View Sequenz"
background -> physical sun and sky in mental ray preferences
Awesome model! It would be nice if the .OBJ file was made of more than one piece though so the rotors could be moved :)
