THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO!!!! the end is the best. i understand exactly what Anthony said and what his hostess also said. i am not from there, but have visited many times and i too lost a friend tothe senseless violence. i love colombia and especially medellin, and am so happy things have become better
Hey!!!! Colombia has a great amount of fruits and greenies to know... we live in a tropical country and most of the food is composed by typical animal dishes... eating plants is extremely good for your health.
im glad anthony showed the good areas as well as the poor neighborhoods and i wouldnt mind visiting columbia even the poor areas. Lots of rich culture there.
@kotonizna A good place to start in Colombia would be Cartagena or Santa Marta (Tayrona Park). From there, Medellín, Bogotá, Cali, Armenia (Eje cafetero), Santander (old towns like Barichara) or Boyacá (old towns too).
@kotonizna You could start in Bogota, cosmopolitan city par excellence, all cultures are gathered in one place, go to Cali and know the warmth of the people and all the food and music, especially salsa, on the north coast are other culture as the vallenato, in the eastern plains are spectacular views of the countryside, in the coffee zone you will see how to produce the best coffee in the world. Here are all the climates and the most biodiverse in the world and women are so beautiful
@silvereagleye but Bogot'a ain't that good... the good thing is the amount of money, politic centers and companies gathered in the area... but the city is very dirty and that makes me sad cause I was born there.
@DaveBritish yeah, you're right, but if you were born there, you also know that there are still a large untapped potential, from political, human, scientific and social .. will not be soon, but as the metropolis is a latent possibility
@silvereagleye Yes, and I want to be part of that change. The big problem about it is that there is no feeling of belonging to the city, many of the people living in Bogota come from other regions, not so developed, and searching for opportunities. In a few words, this is a melting pot and the big problems are a poor infraestructure of the city (many of under construction), the social differences, the extreme classism, the insecurity, the few public systems of transportation. We need to improve
@DaveBritish and for improve all the citizens and those who came from other places we have to create this awareness and sense of belonging that you claim to make to become a great place to live, who knows ... reach the quality of life of Quebec .. some day
@silvereagleye it will but it requieres a deep transformation of the objectives of colombians as a society. Unity, regardless of the race, gender, religion, procedence, etc. I know in my heart a heavy hand leading Colombia is a door to improve many things. and that will bring respect and will heal the capitalist-communist wound. Democracy or Socialism may become a game of survival when the power is totally given to the people. We need to unify politics and a reaching federal system.
@silvereagleye hope Bogotá turns into an ecological sustainable city, but first we have to clean up the streets and follow the examples of other cities in Colombia, smaller ones but cleaner ones. Colombia needs a federative government now but first we have to surpass the guerrilla-drug trafficking-abuse-ignorance-domestic violence-kidnapping issues first, maybe by taking innovative alternatives and fighting corruption at all coasts by proclaiming legitimacy and economic stability and equity.
@kotonizna I live in Bogotá. I definetely recommend you these cities, all of located in the diverse regions of this blessed land: Medellín or Colombian Coffee-Growers Axis, Bucaramanga (in Santander you can also visit Combeima canyon, the greatest of Colombia); Cartagena (Old City) and Mompox (another city in the same region), Santa Marta (Tayrona Park), Villavicencio; Quibdo (in Choco, a jungle department) or go to Leticia, in the Amazon region and approach the border towns of Brazil and Peru.
@kotonizna but there are many other places. Some, yet shamely risky but extremely blessed by nature. A safe place and not very common is Villavicencio, in the Plains. My other recommended is La Guajira, on the Northern colombian peninsula. The third biggest city is Cali, it is very pretty but people say it is kind of a risky city. You can also come to Bogotá... it has places to visit but right now is a city under construction so the traffic is stressing. Boyaca region is pretty and near Bogotá.
@doug1863 I also love Medellín, I am thinking about moving thereor at least buy a house there. I am glad you liked Medellín, that's my favourite city in Colombia, but I love South-America in general.
Eso es Medellín para la gran mayoría de Medellinenses, lastima que sea invisible para la mayoría de quienes en algún momento hemos sido guías en nuestra propia ciudad.
@Doesumama don't say that... in fact, thats a traumatic experience in which many colombians are traditionally obliged to participate in, the Sancocho chicken being killed in the most violent way. You can eat chicken if you want, but why does it have to be killed like this?
Thanks for the upload. I was born here but my parents and entire family is Cartagena. I've never been to Medellin so this was great to watch. Colombia shows the diversity in food and people. Beautiful to watch. I'm proud to be of Colombian heritage. Que viva Colombia!
@DaveBritish However, Medellin is a great city. But most of the traditional food is like english traditional food, composed by all the parts of the animal.
@BeyondChange why not?? kind of close minded eh?I'm pretty sure u have no idea of what a great place colombia is -and i'm not colombian-... shouldn't judge things withput knowing them... it's kind of a dumb attitude in life... should be more open minded...
@BeyondChange of course wou wouldn't... you think we are rude but we are the future of this planet too. And we don't care if you come, we receive visitors from everywhere in the world. I understand why you don't want to come but here you see the true face of humanity, not only the illusive side of life. This is still a shithole society but a LAND OF GODS. I think you know South Park, colombian society is specially similar to the society shown on South Park. Maybe you will come someday.
What happened to the other regions of Colombia? That was a small sample of what is Colombian food and culture, what happened to the melting as: ajiaco, mute, pipitoria, castor llanera, et al. But is it good documentary, thanks for coming to Colombia.
bogota no have culture and nothing like that you need come back to colombia and go to cali to eat the most awesome food and go pasto, tolima and barranquilla you miss that anthony :(
