if this was wireless.. it would be the best thing ever. I have a 32" LCD on my wall in my bedroom currently connected to a mini PC for streaming content from a NAS system/web browsing/TV. if I could get rid of that mini PC and just have a keyboard on the side table, it would just be wonderful. and somehow stream my satellite box subscription thing onto it
What's the point of checking FB on the tiny screen when it's obviously made to fit with a monitor like you show in the video... to me the touchscreen on the side is pointless... it should be removable, like a built in phone / external harddrive thingy
What's the point of checking FB on the tiny screen when it's obviously made to fit with a monitor like you show in the video... to me the touchscreen on the side is pointless... looks cool tho
I'm on the computer, i could really use a tiny touch screen computer "wannabe", when i can have more than one program open on my computer at a time :/ cool, BUT POINTLESS
i had one in the 80s! Op Basic V2 Introduced: January 1982 Released: September 1982 How many: ~17 million Price: US $595. CPU: MOS 6510, 1MHz Sound: SID 6581, 3 channels of sound RAM: 64K Display: 25 X 40 text 320 X 200, 16 colors max Ports: TV, RGB & composite video 2 joysticks, cartridge port serial peripheral port :)
damn it.. they screwed up... they should make a usb version with a screen so Photoshop's tools and layers and whatever dialog can popup on that while i'm using my full monitor to design ...
$500-600 would get me a pretty decent Desktop or an additional $100 for the Mac Mini. All and all I believe they should at least try to bump the specs up to a 2 or 2.2 Ghz if they are asking for a price at $500-600.
can u transition between desktop and the keyboard screen, can both work simultaneously??? $600 is expensive way to just do social networking...least w/ netbook u can use as workstation and stream media
The Asus Eee keyboard will finally make a release in the US and Europe inc October. The pricing, is unknown at this time, but its believed it will be $400 to $500, though Asus say something about the price! The keyboard that was originally announced had a squeaky 1.6 ghz Atom processor, 1GB DDr2 RAM..
whats the point of this ?? I prefer having the eeepc with bigger screeen on top. this is just like having an ipod touch with a huge keyboard attacht to it which is stupid.
Brushed aluminium with white cables...Major Fail!!!
Angle termination on the power supply connection.... Major Fail!!!
I love this thing, but there's just so much to go wrong and what when food and dirt gets in between the keys, or when someone spills a drink on the side? You shouldn't have drinks by electrical equipment, but we all do it!
Really? It's a secondary system, in a keyboard. And it looks freakin awesome. Badassest keyboard ever for your rig+ it has a secondary system built in for downloads, etc etc
@doopyou how so? the ipod touch you're referring to is just a dumb file structure ui. it's really just a computer with a keyboard and you can actually perform real tasks. where an ipod touch you can't do anything with but play horrible touch games and read text messages.
@akorpija You're talking out your ass right now. You forgot to consider the charging input which can also be used as an output with ipod a/v cables to your TV, and various other things such as iTrips (since you're seemingly ignorant, an iTrip can be used to transmit FM radio stations from your iPod to stream music to an AM/FM radio).
i would of liked if they did something about the cables such as the vga/mic/power/usb/ect. it just makes the keyboard awkward to have all those wires sticking out. maybe one big/flat cable that comes out of the keyboard and connects to a hub that can be attached to the back of the monitor. it will make it alot more cleaner. IDK
because we know how a netbook works on a real monitor. he's showing you what you are able to do if you dont have a monitor. this is a netbook after all.
We had a meeting with the Eee Keyboard team yesterday, we asked them to include a notepad for doodling. Its not for artists, its a living room multimedia device.
Ah yes, doodling would be nice. I have a tablet myself but I didn't find it that useful as I have to store it away because it is another device. And I need to bring it out when I need to use it for fast annotations and drawing circles and arrows on a print screen tutorial or something like that. I think a most people need to do that from time to time, but most do it with a mouse though.
Its a cool idea, but the market would not accept that. It does not really have any addition features and would not make my work any simpler from just having split screen from my laptop to a flat screen. If it was under $100 maybe would get it, but other then that. I will save my $600 and just invest it to a true touchscreen smart board.
I don't get the concept. There's presumably a full-sized computer right in front of you. Why have a smaller mobile computer attached to a non-mobile keyboard?
put some more ram and add some more prossesing power and i would buy it. Or if u have an i phone u can turn on ur computer and iphone next to your computer and u basicly have the same thing and more
that's absolutely amazing. When i first saw the video i was like, oh, that's a really cool keyboard it has a touch screen built in. when I found out that it was actually a computer i was like omfg!
Isn't it uncomfortable to use that little screen while typing? I could imagine my back getting sore after a long messenger conversation hunched over it in a twisted typing position.
