@annebloom188 Well it's because he just ended. He didn't conclude. Shyamalan is an excellent story teller, he comes up with good, creative ideas. The problem: His presentation. He builds up the suspense and story but about 80% of the time falls short on how to end it. Then there are the movies like The Happening and The Last Airbender which were messes beginning to end. Even Signs had a strange ending, but it wasn't terrible, it was just.. different. It's a gamble when watching a Shyamalan film.

@annebloom188 The problem with the movie that turned people off was that his opening with the grave. The tombstone sets a date for 1897, so that's the time frame the audience is thinking. But, at the end, it's really present day. He lied to the audience. He was going for that shocking effect, but I really believe had he not shown a date, the shock value would have played out better. He did a great job with the sets and actors. I think the date turned off people.

I think the reason alot of people ragged on this movie was that the trailer came across as a trailer for a scary movie, and it isn't scary.

It's a REALLY good movie and one of M. Night's best, but it isnt scary and I think that pissed off the people who watched this expecting a scary movie

He broadcasted this movie as being one with horror but to me i dont care what anyone says.. this movie was completely stupid and no horror at all >_>. and for Avatar. it was horrible too. the only movie i loved by him was Devil. that movie was amazingly cool. otherwise i am disappointed in you M.
