Love the English subtitles for an English film - makes no sense. If you don't understand English you won't understand English subtitles. There is English slang used in this movie but the subtitles won't help you with that. Great movie though!
Makes perfect sense for those who have bad hearing, or don't want to wake up their grumpy neighbors by watching this movie in the middle of the night.
Also for most of those who don't have English as their first language, reading English is WAY easier than listening to it, especially if somebody has a regional accent even the locals can't understand.
Reading the words in plain view, is a lot easier than hearing some mumbling, which can be (and often is) misunderstood.
i only onlt seen this film for the first time a couple weeks ago and i loved every minute of it very funny some of the same faces are in mean machine too also very funny
fair opinion, but i think they r both good in the sense that they r both well written and directed. altho this one has more of a classic ring to it... seen this film bout a million times literally and never gets old lol
The reason it's got subtitles is because of the accents and fast talking making it hard for non-british people (nothing bad meant by this) to understand what the hell is being said.
Ah, a really cool English try some of the Tarantinoisms of Pulp Fiction. Or maybe Resevoir Dogs. I dunno. But what I do know is that this film includes a small but good role for Sting. Who, later, supposedly introduced the director of this film to Madonna. Which later would result in a relationship. Which later would result in marriage. Which later would then result in the movie Swept Away. Which later would then result in the conclusion that Sting needs to learn to mind his own business.
'fair enough we'll deal with him later', 'shut up you idiot it's hanukkah', 'i don't believe this could everyone stop getting shot?' Frank Harper is the best at bully roles, so underestimated though :(
I learn whatever I head. and I watch and listen both American and English. I only mean brutal English is unknown to me. I just dont understand those terms but proper american and english are known to me :)
hands down one of my fave movies of all time.. hehe.. i'm a total pain in the a*se to watch this movie with.. i try and say all the lines.. hahaha.. :p
Actually this scene is one of the best in it, next to the shooting scene, "Arse Ticklers Faggot's Fanclub", and the last scene in Harry's place... "Oh no, not again..."
im pretty sure its just a melody made for the movie. you know like some television shows have some in-house bands do a little loop. probably wont be finding it easily - if it's even available for download
Facking total clarse mate . the lads got it spot on. i ad a right larf when i was a villian and this is what it was like mate . nafin like hurtin people and robbin, its the life mate. i fink the guy who made it lives above the laundrette you know . facking clarse
look at were the subtitles first say 'what did they want with a traffic warden?', and you can see a random hand, presumably owned by a member of the filming crew, reach up and hold up the warden nhead.

Not necessarily. I've known people to use them for accents they don't understand, and I think most DVDs have them in case you're deaf or something.

It helps to understand when they mutter through alot of lines

By the way,
in case I didn't make it clear enough,
I love ev'rything 'bout this film.
From the humorous dialogue, to the monochromatic rusty look,
to the father/son relationship of the Vinnie Jones character & his kid.
