  • get a life...

  • people are gonna hate you when your a teen

  • Power. shes smart but for the wrong reasons. she will probably end up making a super nuke for the united states (defense)

  • TED is a website where there are lots of things that they talk about. like educational vidioes on collage and middle school etc. GO TO TED.COM

  • Pedo Smile :D 0:59

  • To all of you saying she's unattractive, etc: a) She was TWELVE AT THE TIME THAT THIS VIDEO WAS TAKEN. b) She's accomplished a good bit already, and if getting laid were so difficult, then the world population wouldn't be upwards of 7 billion.

She's not living in any of the lines defined for her, and that, to me, is commendable. Most adults can't say they do that.

  • only if she was hot

  • wtf1!!!!!!!!! im sooo uneducated!

  • This made me hard.

  • WHAT THE HELL IS TED.

  • The ONLY reason (in every single instance of occurrence) why someone would 'put-down' another is due to a negative self-perception that is usually specifically related to the type of personal characteristic the 'pay-out' is directed towards. There's no need to ever be angry at someone who bullies or 'pays-out' another person, we need to think about what they might feel they're lacking, and provide some help.

  • Another Sheldon!!

  • Annoying...

  • SHE PUBLISHED A BOOK!? Holy shit..

  • She is 14 and looks like 9.

  • too mature for her age D:

  • Okay WAIT STOP THE VIDEO!!! Mute the video and turn on sub titles. you figure it out.

  • what!? the squishy part in my head is hurting! shes been teaching.... writing books!? holy mothafuckin jizz

  • Mature people annoy me. Immaturity rules!

  • fuckin asian

  • god I would hate to have an argument with her XD

  • She's an obnoxious, precocious, pretentious girl.

  • I kinda wuna hit her.

  • shes never gonna get laid

  • Not gonna say it, not gonna say it, not gonna say it....SHE'S ASIAN ^_^ FUCK I SAID IT!

  • HOW OLD IS SHE

  • IT'S SHELDON!

  • Uh wait a minute... How old is she already?

  • Why Asian why did she had to be asian. Why not mexican, bulgarina, german etc

  • @locomoco2012 Because asains make up over 60% of all the population on the earth. So if you think of it from a probability standpoint, it is more over likely than not that she would be asian. (and yes I do however still see the irony)

  • That's a weird looking kitchen...

  • I want to slap her eyes straight.

  • I'm all for changing the world too. But when she learns of Jewish ethnocentricity along with the rest of the majority, changing the world will take on a whole new meaning. With political, media, and banking control by this ruthless minority forcing us towards a one world society, it will be a challenge.

  • its kinda sad though, she'l never have a real childhood

  • she looks like an adult but she doesnt know nothing about life..

  • She's wasting her childhood.

  • Incredibly eloquent, I love listening to her. She's got such a great sensitivity to assume what you want to hear in a certain context. Just listen to her correcting herself, coquet with the interviewer; how capable she is of picking up immediately on any word handed to her.

  • oneness

  • hold on a second, wtf is ted

  • Somebodies mature

  • Look adults, I'm a kid, and she's my role model. 90% of these comments are about Adora losing her childhood. Someone's "childhood" is not translation for cartoons, parties, and saving up money to buy candy. A childhood is a special time in your life when you don't have to wake up everyday and be stressed because of work or money. A childhood is a time to have fun in your own way. Clearly she is having fun doing what she does. Really, people, be positive.

  • @ImmaRoxstarSoBeware5 i dont quite agree with it because her actions are highly influenced by her parents. her mom didnt have a chance to go to school and this will explain why her mom cares so much about her child's learning behavior. also, she is home-schooled, which is very different from schools in north america, where children play and interact with friends all day. im not saying if shes right or wrong, my point is "A childhood is a time to have fun in your OWN way".

  • @shortshortdi : hey bud, you should do some research into what home schooling involves maybe before casting a judgement on it. The concept of going to the same place, every day, every week, month and year, surrounded by the same people in the same 4 walls for your whole schooling life sounds more limiting to me than learning outside, inside, around others you know, around others you don't, and having the flexibility to alter both social and surrounding environments during learning.

  • @opensighted homeschooling is not always the same, there are different schedules and plans among individuals. also, i dont agree with what u said about schooling because after school, its free time for kids, they can choose to play sport, play video games, read books and almost anything they want. but for this girl's schedule, its fixed with little flexibility. im not gonna argue if that is her will or not because little information is given, and there are many other factors.

  • No childhood

  • she made a 4 minute video out of 6 questions and about a two page essay....

  • if i was her mother i would hate to have an argument with her Lol

  • she speaks better than me

  • The girl is brilliant, enthusiastic, and has a good heart. But speaking as a "gifted kid" myself (although perhaps not one as brilliant as Adora) i have to wonder how this will affect her future. Maybe it's a great thing. Something she can be proud of (and rightly so) for the rest of her life. Or maybe missing her childhood means she'll meltdown emotionally and spiral into drugs, alcohol, and depression like so many of "gifted kids" that I've known. I just hope it's not the latter =(

  • @KellyBellyAnn I'm not anything close to gifted nor a child, but intuition leads me to believe that she will continue to be great and enjoy what she is doing because she is motivated by herself and not others pushing her to do things that they want her to do. This is apparent to me by her slight (but possibly warranted) arrogance towards adults during her talk. Can think any adult would push her to do that :)

  • @KellyBellyAnn you just called yourself a gifted kid? Your hilarious.

  • this isn't right. She is so young and is losing a childhood. She needs to hang out with kids after school, go to parties. and just watch cartoons instead of going to conferences.

  • @miked1997

I think the terms in which you are defining childhood can be open to interpretation. Its like Adora said herself... people in modern society are confined to think a certain way and that type of thinking is what can really limit our specie in the future.

Alright, I understand that Adora hasn't had her share of cartoon figures that defined us as kids but that doesn't mean she is missing out on anything. Unique minds like her is what gives our society an extra advance towards future.

  • Does she know what is BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2!?!?!?!

  • Yes, she is a genious, but if your parents had you do school online from the time you started school with double- tripple the amount of classes that your normal peers have, not anyone, but a lot of very smart people could be in her position now. She will resent her parents one day from taking her childhood away... she may be happy now, but wasn't Michael Jackson happy too?....... Kids should be kids, not acting like adults.

  • Not all kids hate books...i'm 11 and i'm obsessed with books.

  • @BubblysimsFilms when i was young i read alot too . only if the books are realll good :D

  • OMG 1 PENNY!!!!!!!

  • i bet all she does is read on her spare time instead of ride bike with friends or hang out

  • @nethdaniel552 .......thats what i do........and watch youtube videos......

  • poor kid....i wonder whether she knows what cotton candy tastes like...i'm sure she has read about it...but i doubt she has ever tasted it...

  • After watching other videos of this girl, I can safely say that she completely lacks any people skills. Come at me angry youtubers.

  • @u780 She can answer to a bunch of interview questions without stuttering, pausing, or using like, like you know using like way to much, cause like we always use it too much.....

  • @Tarakol She talks like a book, not a person.

  • wow.

  • genious

  • Adora Svitak aka virgin for life.

  • @StanzelGames so true

  • she never stops speaking ?:O

  • she looks like the girl from scoby doo lol

  • @dewaynemoore1 hahahaha

  • hypocrisy

  • @atkm2891 A penny per follower is actually really good. She should have gotten about 50,000 followers in the first year, so that's already $500. And then she'll probably do just as good in the next year, so in total that's $1,000. And remember, she's a kid, not a 50 year old millionaire.

  • Time changes all things, the only element to pass the tst of time is ' Truth " the absence of deception, we know so little, learning methods are the significant variable, speed reading, data mining, drawing to scale spontaneously with blocked graphs. The future will continue to grow exponentially once we have removed nobility from our society, our magnitudes of literacy will follow our information technology, the leading edge of artifical intelligence

  • She's 13/14 right now, since she's born the same year as me, and personaly .... I think she's related to William Shakespeare .

  • Hahaha, the whole verbosity thing is why I never bothered with Twitter, either. Good Lord, though, this girl is something.

When I was younger I never wanted to become like one of 'those' adults, either. Well, I haven't, but I also haven't turned out quite the way I would have liked.

I would be very interested in keeping tabs on her and seeing where her early twenties will see her.

  • Simply amazing

  • Well, she really has a mustache??? I was the sime girl like she, but at the age of 13 started to be interested in boys. :P

Now she scolds the adults, but what will she do later when she will be an adult? Make a suicide?

  • She's lyk awesom-est!

  • She´s an awesome kid, no matters what other people say.

  • She's probably just one of those Asians who look like they're 12 but really they're like 45.

  • Hey!! She stole my name!! I'm Adora!!! I don't like her xp xp xp xp xp xp xp

new technology blah blah blah!!! NAME STEALER!!!!!!!

  • when were you born? may be i do not know but i am sure you can not be talent like her

  • I hate when people call other people nerds...:( GO ADORA!!

  • she thinks too much like an adult which is very ironic, because her whole point is about a childs point of view. She shouldnt be growing up so fast in order to be taken seriously.

  • she's hot. am i weird?

  • @atlaswingpasaway yes you are because she's not

  • I love this little girl...but now I feel stupid......I watched this video then played Xbox 360.....I'm 21 years old

  • She is obviously the reincarnation of a brilliant mind. It is truly amazing watching this kid and listening to how lucid she is.

  • One of my favorite paraphrased quotes from her TED Talk,

"Calling some people childish is an insult to children."

  • @derman077 A million thumbs up for this!

  • Did they book her because of her ideas or because of her age?

  • 1 penny! cheap ass bitch HAHA

  • Comment removed

  • AAAAA

  • if she is born in China, she will never get these chance=[

  • Just talked to her, she really is as intelligent as she seems.

  • she talks like an adult....

  • I LOVE HER

  • i feel bad for this girl's boyfriend.

  • @n8goesSPLAT

    lol

"Adora!!! you know how I feel about big words!"

  • She can speak confidently and uses a lot of corny adult expressions, but I'm still not sure what her practical ideas are.

  • WTH she's 13...

  • @ooweirdoo She's 12 now lol

  • I like her thoughts on 'adults can learn from kids' and applying technology to education. The ipad is poised to be a revolutionary device for education with an existing huge library of quality educational tools already available, and school systems that already have rolled out ipod/ipod touch support infrastructure. I chuckled a little when she said she'd never seen a google phone before.. no wonder they are handing them out at every tech event..Great reporting LOL what's her AGE?

  • She is so articulate. I want some of her brilliance.

  • My god, I'm ashamed of my vocabulary right now. She speaks better than any adult I've met that I can think of. If it where only audio I'd call fake on this. ;P

  • As much as I hate to admit it, you are right. For her age, she's a weirdo. But being a weirdo isn't always bad, not in this case! I think she ain't that interested in having friends her age anyway.

  • Impressive. This is probably going to put her through college.

  • when shes 20 the shell find the cure for some disease

  • She's very impressive.

  • I think she is an adult in disguise.

  • As a twenty year old... I already feel obsolete...

  • Way to lead the way, Adora! Keep smiling...

  • This young lady is obviously brilliant. Ironically her POV may be more *adult* than most actual adults, defeating her hypothesis.

  • @theloniousMac No, that's not ironic. That's what she's trying to say, if anything it strengthens her hypothesis.

  • Neat, I look forward to watching her speech.
