  • Hi Kathy! I've just read your informative response to another user about KP! I have so much scarring from picking at my kp skin on my arms. And I know there's nothing magical and KP needs constant moisturizing, but is there anything else that can help fade the scars a little faster?

  • if you have a pimple that's under the skin what is the best thing you can do about it? I find I get them now and then and they are always painful. if i see my dermatologist she injects them but otherwise they just hurt.

  • You genius, thank you!!!!

  • Hi, Kathy: My teenaged son has little white bumps all over the back of his upper arms. I think the common term for it is "chicken skin." Can we extract those the same way, by pricking them first? And then how do we prevent them? Thanks for all your informative videos!

  • @luvmyjjj Hi and thanks! That's keratosis pilaris (chicken skin!) and no, I wouldn't try to extract those. You need to use a daily exfoliant, either mechanical - polishing gloves for example, or chemical - lactic acid is the best for this. AmLactin is sold in the drugstore and is supposed to be pretty good. Keep in mind that this is chronic and requires daily attention. :)

  • @kathyspears Wow, not only did you respond to my question, but it was SO quick! Thank you! Right after I read your response I went over to my local CVS and read the ingredients on the AmLactin bottle. I noticed it has 12% alpha hydroxy. I still have a jar of 7% alpha hydroxy and would like to use that up before I purchase the AmLactin. Do you think that might also work for the keratosis pilaris? If not, I of course will go back and purchashe the AmLactin sooner. Again, thank you so much!

  • @luvmyjjj Yes, go ahead and use up what you have first! Don't expect an immediate result. Just keep at it every day. Once it is gone, he will need to continue to use the exfoliant to prevent future build up of keratin. Thanks for your nice comments! Kathy

  • and one more question :) Kathy, what salicylic acid or glycolic toner is better to use for after extracting? After this video I did a little research on the internet, and found out that for acne, oily skin is preferable to use tonic with 10% of glycolic acid for everyday use if skin is not too sensitive. What is your opinion on this? I don't want to listen anyone anymore but you, since all your given suggestions have done so good to my skin. Just trust you much more than others.

  • Hi Kathy! Thanks for the video, so very useful :) Could you, please, check out this product and give your opinion on it. Just enter in a search bar this number iWFoejtXYqE. The video name is "Blackhead acne removal by suction.wmv".

Question 2. I'm going to order Deep Clean cleanser by Osmosis, but in your store I can see only 50ml bottle, do you have larger bottles? For other cleaners you do.

    Thank you :)

  • Thank you so much! I have done pretty much all things wrong...I'm definitely going to try the bobby pin trick because the blackheads on my nose drive me absolutely crazy!

  • Keep up the good work, Kathy!

  • I use a toner with apple cider vinegar and green tea mixture... does that work?

  • @WOAHwoahwoooah It wouldn't be my choice, but if you like what it does...use it! I think toners are only necessary when acne/breakouts are involved and then I think it should have salicylic acid or glycolic. But I guess the cider vinegar would work, too. The green tea is good for calming, so...yah, probably good! :)

  • OMG Kathy, you have very informative videos! Loving all your skin care secrets!! very glad I found you here!

  • @Dany00caracoli Thank you!! Appreciate you watching! :) Kathy

  • Hi Kathy! Would the pimple extraction process work for removing that dumb hard piece of whatever it is inside a clogged pore? I have one that has dogged me for years (on my forehead) and I can NOT get it out! Thanks :)

  • @julieswahn What you are describing is probably a milia. I usually recommend seeking professional help (esthetician) but you can remove it yourself if you're very careful. You need to make an opening in the top as I showed in the video. This is key for milia. You can then push it out as shown. Remember, the opening must be made firmly (do it quick and it's easier). Good luck, Kathy

  • Yes, thank you for the ice tip. I had the biggest what I would call here in the UK 'blind lump' on my chin a couple of weeks ago. It was such a hard lump, I thought there just has to be something in there! squeezed the life out of it, made it bigger, redder and much worse. You live and learn. I googled and you tubed extensively and found that it is believed blind lumps don't develop a head as there is a fight going on between your immune system and the bacteria and neither are winning!

  • I love the last part... putting ice for 3mins 2x a day for upcoming pimple... Love you video Miss Kathy... Keep it coming...:) Thank you so much!

  • I should have looked at this video before I did what I did to my face literally 2 min before. Extremely helpful and informative.. this really needs more views. Thanks again. Now I need to go wash. :\

Oh and the person commenting before me brings up something I've wanted to know more about... milia. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

  • @LotusOdyssey Thanks! If you've really made a mess, apply cool compresses. :)

  • hi, i was wondering if this would work for milia? and how are whiteheads and milia different? thank you for your time!

  • @s10ia Yes, but you really need to know what you're doing with milia. They must be lanced first. Using a sterile pin or lancet, pierce the top, then pinch out the way you would a blackhead. Do NOT try to squeeze without first making an opening or you will just make a bruise and nothing will come out. Whiteheads are easier. But go ahead and use the lancet first. Good luck! Kathy

  • i really like your videos. thank you so much for taking the time to help us!!

  • whats a great salicylic acid toner and also a glycolic one? Thanks!

  • @kathyspears Thanks for your response! I think you may be on to something, the cream IS part of a new regimen I've been trying out and like you said, washing your hands and face before "picking" is KEY!!! Less stress...don't I wish! :-)

  • Great video. I didn't realize until your last video that I had BOTH kinds of acne. I have recently started using a vitamin E cream and it feels like it helps my acne heal faster and prevent new, is that possible or am I just growing out of my acne?

  • @charlottepahline Hi there! Don't feel bad - it's very common to have both kinds of acne! As for the vitamin E cream, sorry but I doubt it helps prevent new pimples or helps speed up healing. Maybe it's just that you are taking good care of your skin or maybe less stressed...so many variables! Vitamin E is mostly beneficial as an anti oxidant (slows down aging in theory). :) Kathy
