hahahahahaha informative nd cool thanks. have u any idease where i can get an affordable interface and or mixer for smone who is upgrading to this method of recording. i tried ebay and google shopping. expensive stil
@JustineBieberxoxo EMU 1212M can do more then the Delta 44 i use in this video like Midi. and i do recommend this delta to people that want a very simple interface that delivers good quality sound
And another question is i found a interface called Behringer UCA222 - USB 1.1 Digital Audio Interface do u think its compatible with the mixer i said on the other comment?
im looking to buy an interface, but i can't seem to find one that im sure will be capable with my recording software. iv'e read online that if you want an interface that works with pro tools it costs much more, and your video im pretty sure you said it was cheaper to get a more expensive interface that goes with protools if your willing to pirate the software, which i am, but is that the best choice?
lol hilarious and awesome tutorial. just to be sure, the mixer audio outputs which would usually connect to speaker monitors connect to the interface?
@jflipl That is correct. also note that a mixer is not always needed. some interfaces are a lot more advanced then the one i use in this video and make the mixer a bit useless.
Very strange, but actually the only vid I have found that has given me the answers I needed. I still don't know what an 'interface' is or what type of mixer I need is, but it's a start.
All I want to know is what do I need to ask y Dad to buy to record my harp playing to a cd quality then make the cd. If anyone can tell me (lucidly in type or song) that would great.
@lizlops007 An "audio interface" is what connects your input audio into your computer (usb or any others) while using certain software (i.e audacity, pro tools, FL Studio etc). The type of mixer I ordered yesterday (arriving tomorrow along with my mic) was the exact same one Andy has.
It's a "Behringer Xenyx 802 Premium 8-Input 2-Bus Mixer with Xenyx Mic Preamps and British EQs" Check it out on Amazon. They're having a great deal - it's only like $36 right now.
Sup bro, fucking funny hehehe, I'm a newbie here so basically I want to know what is better, to have a a DAW with multiple channels or a mixer? tha- aaaaaaanks
@ferfr01 i would say a DAW that has inputs for normal instrument cable, Mic Cable, and Midi input. If you have that there is definitely no need for a mixer.
@Chucrutzzz I understand you just fine. The program i use (Pro Tools) only works with Specific Interfaces to record audio so i cannot use the line in on my PC as a recording option.
HAHAHAHAHA...FUNNY Presentation!!!

Hey friend(sorry, i can't speak english very well =x)
I have the same mixer as you, and I use to take "tape out"(or cd out) RCA channel direct to the line in on my PC .
I have a question =)
What is the diference betwen my set(tape out to line in) and your set (mixer out to interface)???
Sorry, I'm trying to understand and make new aquisitions for my home studio =)
Hugs from Brazil ! \o\

Do I necessarily need a mixer if I merely record voice and piano ?
Great video, I learnt the basics thanks to you
PiccadillyMan 5 months ago
@PiccadillyMan no i mixer is not always needed if you have an interface with a mic jack then you would just plug it right into that
