  • perfect!! what is that tune ?

  • @firatuysal1 Banty Rooster by Charlie Patton

  • HI BILLY MAYS HERE, SHOWING YOU HOW TO PLAY THE SLIDE GUITAR!!!!

  • fuck, this guy can play!!!!!

  • Ok i was about to try that tunning and i was so scared my guitar or stings would kille me how do you tune to that.

  • what is he referring to when he speaks about Hawaiians. It cant be the style of the music. its it the slide style or the slide its self?

  • @Guitarstring187 He is talking about the tuning. When playing slide(generally), you use an open tuning, such as open E, D, and G. But he was referring to the "Hawaiian Slack" tuning(guess where they originated from? lol). There are dozens of Hawaiian tunings. One such example is "Old Mauna Loa" tuning, witch(from heaviest string to lightest) is CGCGAD.

  • @sandbreak2 and @lastwave235 Do your homework, it is a known fact that Brozman keeps chickens in his barnyard.

  • Whar a fantastick piece of guitar skills display...but the lyrics sucks

  • @sandbreak2 the lyrics are not relevant to you that's all. keep in mind how long ago and where these songs were written.

this is song about buying a rooster that will crow when a stranger comes. a guard rooster. which is something you might do if you were a poor southern former slave.

"I'm gonna buy myself a bennie rooster.

    put him in my backyard.

lord! when a stranger come in.

he gonna put up his wings and crow."

  • Espetafubalástico

  • one chord huh? that was like... alot and some that werent even chords (woot)

  • i love this guy! i have a dread like him

  • Fantastic playing and singing. Wish I had half the talent and ability.

  • bobbb ne ayaksın lan senn :D kafanmı güzel bobb goodd gooddd goodd showw

  • I wouldn't call him a shit player, he's just better suited to Ragtime and Jazz. The more you throw in a Ragtime tune the better it sounds. When you add too much to Mississippi Blues songs, the feeling gets lost.

  • @CLEMIATHON they all lean on each other. ragtime, jazz, blues. all of them get blurry the closer you get. wouldn't playing it without feeling be doing an exact cover of the original?

  • Genious!!!

  • he's a genious! whats the name of this song?

  • Holy crap! =O He is amazing!

  • I was lucky to attend his masterclass and concert last night in Spalding.

I never gave rhythm a thought but he has got more RHYTHM than rhythm itself and he has changed my out look as a musician any body can learn a a guitar by tab but it takes a real musician to understand RHYTHM.

Thankyou Bob for opening up my eyes:)

  • so much Character

  • perfect for busking

  • buenisimo y tradicional

  • yes yes yes!

  • The Carlos Casteneda of blues.

  • so cool

  • Excellent!

  • Funny how this guy is simply the best "national guitars" player in the world.

  • how can any music be best? He is an INTERESTING player, though!

  • i talk about this very instrument. Do you know one person who plays it better ? it's not a competition but he really has it.

  • Love the whine at 1:33

  • I thought my days of listening to blues players were over - but this reminds me why I loved blues guitar as a teenager. The man has flat out got it, end of.

  • icon

  • thats Just Kick Ass!

  • insane.

  • brilliant, beautiful, etc

  • dude, you just ROCK!!!!it's like you have the rhythm in you!!!

  • watch?v=_K5i9-Gjw5g

  • Im oh so thankfull to have seen this man live

  • greatest white bluesman ive seen

    period.

  • too true

  • Yes... Blues is actually very hard to play, if you want to do it right. Doyle Bramhall II said, that it took Eric Clapton and himself to play one Robert Johnson guitar part.

  • @peelopuu I don't think like that. The Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

It's quite possible to play all RJ part alone. The main thing is feel. Doyle Bramhall II and Clapton don't feel the blues right. I think comparing their album to RJ's

Complete Works is like comparing shit to brilliants. That's MY opinion.

  • @tinpanalley67 ok......

  • whaa hoo chill out CaptainGarryRules

  • wow i actually lol'd at the pink trombone comment.

this guy is awesome, there is no better musical philosipher. scratch that, there IS no other musical philosipher (im sure i spelled that wrong)

  • yaaaaah hoooooooo lLlllooooohaaaaa he is very niceeEE =)

  • loomis--your comments on various videos are consistently shallow, racist, looks-based, or just plain dumb! Get a life!

    What do YOU play?

  • he plays the pink trombone

  • @johnaiton Who?!

  • like the guitar

  • good

  • haha 1:14

  • There are 10 new Brozman videos posted this week, by VariationsMusic, some nice blues among them! Search for Brozman Toulouse 2007 to find them. This video is OK, but 5 or 6 years old....

  • wow

  • when you play like that no one really cares what your singing sounds like.

  • I think his singing is good. Its from the heart. No doubt though he is a much better guitar player than a singer. Exceelent song I really enjoyed it.

  • open G

One has to sing when playing blues no matter how good you sing - One great thing you get with Bob is his heart.

  • Very nice playing but the singing is just horrible.

  • Comment removed

  • The human voice _can_ be the most expressive instrument and NO other instrument can even get close. If you hear any old acoustic blues, then you will realize that what makes them great is mainly their soulful expressive singing.

  • does anyone know what tuning hes in?

  • No doubt, he's a great guitar player... when he plays the Blues, he sounds true.

  • thanks for shearing it , come around more with it dude, cheers.

    AsGoodAsItGetsVidas

  • who cares about what he wears! just listen to the music!

  • Don't judge people on appearance.

And as for someone saying he's probably a nice person, I can tell you from personal experience he is!!

    Nice one Bob!!

    LR

  • sweet.

  • Youdaman Man!

  • Can you play Death Metal on the thing?

  • I think he does play metal, of a certain kind, on the video Live at Luton part 4 --search YT for it..

  • The song is BANTY Rooster, a Charlie Patton song.

  • I can't believe all the people who comment on looks. Are you deaf or something?

  • Maybe it is the American Idol effect.....??

  • the best

  • great

  • his body gestures and speech are at times a little jumpy or spastic, but his music really is interesting, and most guitarist can learn some new ideas from it whether they like the blues or not. Keep on having fun Brozman!!!

  • This guy should write movie soundtracks. He made me feel write on the delta in this one.

  • especially blond haired blue-eyed white people! ; )

  • with rat tail braids and tie-die pancho shirts

  • take another look, no blues or blond hair here! Racist comments talking about a musician's looks---just stupid, music is open to all colors.

  • im just playing around. bob brozman is an amazing and soulful guitar player. and he seems like a nice guy too.

  • He's very down to earth as you can tell. I met him at a show about a year ago and he was very cool. I like his revolutionary spirit as well. Rich

  • music is music

  • @loomis4747 Dont be so Racist!

  • bişi anlamıom ama güsel gitar çalıosun helallll:D

  • the guys just got such a fantastic sense of rythm

  • you should see his new DVD, pretty nuts

  • What's the name of this song?

  • Ranty Rooster, by Charley Patton

  • the best out there, hands down,

  • tv mama by johnny winter listen to it,you will have a new hero

  • i can't seem to find it!

  • That was cool as hell. Reminds me of John Hammond

  • wonderful guitar... great player =]

  • Excellent!

  • and i thought I'd seen all the cool guitar players, boy where has he been. true skill.

  • well you just keep that urge to yourself, mate :)

  • i gave him five stars, i guess those guys that are keeping him at four must be REAL good.

  • I've got one of his instructional booklet/cds. It's called Bob Brozman's Bottleneck Blues Guitar. Highly recommend it (if you can find it).

  • great book i have it too but i lost the cd that comes with it,and i am realy pissed of cus i cant get another copy, bob is the best player i have ever heard though

  • bitchin, the guy can play like a mofo

guitar jedi master pimp ass mofo extrordinaire

  • You got to hand it to the guy....damm

  • bob is beyond comment,

  • Sardinas is Good...Bob is the Master!

  • LORD DO I MISS A DOBRO AT HOME, NOW...

  • He is rated as one of the very best by people who know - above legends such as Rory Block and Ben Andrews even. He really holds nothing back in his teching dvd's. He stresses the importance of being a clean player and this makes sense as you can always dirty things up if needed.

  • The *key* to playing this kind of guitar is to notice the first 2 seconds of the clip where he is showing how the strings are tuned relative to eachother. "Open" tuning makes it possible (if you got skills like this guy) to do runs and transitions and make it sound smooth like butter. Rough like dirt.

  • Is it Open G?

  • this is utterly unbelievable. why cant i play like that????

  • just amazing, i cant believe no one has commented on this video. just amazing
