@6KiiDZ yes i do know that. and no it didn't explode or crack for that matter.. and this was done over 4 years ago and i haven't done this craziness since then!
If the energy saving light leaks some mercury in the microwave, you can probably even die after that when you make food in it and eat it. Why people do this shit with their own microwave in their own home..? At least in the "Is it good idea to microwave " videos, the guys don't actually use the microwave for heating food after all the shit what happened xD
Mercury lamps have been around past 60+ years from all industrialized nations' factories.... then been dumped straight to the landfill.
We are not dead yet.
These curly 'Q' lamps have very little mercury and are NOT the toxic death pods ignorance has made them to be.
You don't need a hazmat team for cleanup if one breaks.
How many millions of conventional flourescent tubes have been busted in back streets and dumpsters for years? Each one of those has far more mercury in them.
I can't think of a better way of poisoning the entire US population.
Every year, take 12 tons of volatile, highly toxic metal mercury, divide it into millions of tiny fragile packages (CFL bulbs) and distribute them to the general population, without any warning of danger to life.
There is no way that 12 tons of mercury can be recovered at the end of the bulbs life.
The deadly mercury will accumulate in the bones, brain & vital organs of the whole population and their children.
Fact 4 - Huge amounts are released from burning coal, and it is mercury vapour that is the most dangerous, what better way to vapourize it then to toss it in a fire!
Fact 5 - There are many fare more dangerous chemicals in your vinyl siding and carpet in higher levels then any CFL could hope to offer!
Attacking CFL as death of the planet is incorrect. Mercury in CFL lamps is a insignificant fraction in comparison to all industrialized Hg lighting disposed of annually.
Bear in mind mercury vapor lamps and conventional flourescent tubes have been around for past 60+ years. Mercury came from the ground... it goes back. Danger is when it contacts fresh water.
Ideally, a recycling program should be implemented. Better quality ballasts to make use of full lamp life.
dude well it didn't fade.. and if you turn up your volume you can hear the fan. plus we do this for fun and i comment on what i actually see.. your more than welcome to come over and see for yourself. besides we do this for FUN not for excat science.. and this is my last responce to you buddy.. good luck and rember have your dogs spayed or nutered..

jearhby you need to get your facts right..
there is so little mercury in that bulb. there is about 200 times more in a thermometer.
cracking that bulb wouldnt kill a small furry animal.

your an idiot aren't you? I can see clearly as you wreak of ignorance.
Fact 1 - Mercury is naturally occurring, it is every where in trace amounts and inside you at this moment in trace amounts.
Fact 2 - Do you like boats? There is massive amounts of liquid mercury inside the float switch for the bilge pump
Fact 3 - There is massive amounts in thermostats in liquid form.

They fade after power is removed. Regardless of source, you'd have excited gas atoms. The video shows no fade.

Was the metal screw portion still on the bulb? Didn't that cause sparks?
johnjohnson 5 years ago
yea it was still on there, we put it in a partiall filled glass of water.

We put the base / metal part in a glass of water to prevent the sparking
buddyboi1979 5 years ago
I never thought of that, but I guess it would work. It did in your case.
