Yeah,,,,he was an off duty fireman helping his fellow brothers...there were 4 fires working in the City at the same time..they needed all the help they could get.
The big guy is grabbing a hydrant wrench. He can't get much closer to the fire because he has no gear so he is helping establish the water supply. Signal 11 is probably their code for a working fire.
signal 11 is confirmed fire requesting one additional engine and one additional ladder ontop of their 4 engines and two ladders to a full assignment but at the end of the video u hear they only send 2 engines and one ladder to another fire on norwood st bc the city was so busy that day.
I'm guessing that big guy is an off-duty FF. As soon as the engine stopped, he put something inside it. Notice how he grabbed that tool out of the hand of the FF with gear on? lol
the big guy got on shift when the box came in..or vice versa...no time to change and arrived with the first due eng. or trk.co. sop.

Those are engineers from other rigs helping out because that engine was the primary hydrant.
