BARROW money is right-- as in WHEEL-barrow, from the massive inflation!
In Post-WWI Germany, inflation was so high from printing Deutchmarks, that people would LITERALLY have to go to the store with wheelbarrows full of money in order to buy bread!
And that's what we're heading for under Obamanomics, where a "dollar printed is a dollar earned!"
Yeah well then an un-level playing field is even STUPIDER, but that's what the oligarchy provides-- OLIGOPOLY.
There aren't more than FIVE major corporations controlling any industry, and that's due to crony-capitalism, grift and corporate welfare, as well as favoritist regulation.
Like the laws weren't favorable to SUV's-- so the auto-industry pulled a few strings in Washington, and PRESTO! IT WAS!
Anyone who thinks that industry doesn't buy elections, is in a FANTASY.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm all for rich people! Especially the ones who started from the bottom rung, and made something of themselves. I'm on the side of the rich, because one day, I know, with enough hard work and determination, I can have all the wealth that I want. And it will be even sweeter because I WORKED for it. Nothing that I will have will be handed to me by anybody but the sweat of my own brow. And that's how it should be! That's all.
One of the arguments is that after he reinvests some of his $250,000 he won't fall into the $250,000 dollar tax bracket. When you re-invest in your company, you right it off as an expense, which doesn't fall under income.
Seriously? First of all, not all who hate the Bush tax cuts are declaring war on small businesses. In fact, most calls for tax relief on both sides target small businesses.
However, that doesn't mean we have to keep all of the tax cuts responsible for 1.9 trillion in deficit in the past 10 years. These tax cuts caused no significant growth, so taking them away will in no way reverse non-existent gains. Likewise, the taxes of the Clinton admin. didn't keep the economy from booming.
@new01 How about we just lower taxes. That way the guy doesn't have to hire a bunch of lawyers and accountants and he can operate more efficiently. Of course, just remember, 90% of Trial Lawyers' contributions go to Democrat candidates. Don't you just love the "Party of the little guys."
Unemployment according to the U3 is up to about 15 - 18%.
WELL DONE SOCIALISTS. And before anyone calls me an idiot for referring to it as socialism, I must refer you to the article in newsweek entitled "We're All Socialists Now" which is why the word socialism has been used so much to describe idiotic big government policies.
@vince33xx Why don't you go back and crawl in the hole in the ground you came from. You're obviously a hateful, jealous, miserable human being. After you crawl in your hole, just drag the dirt into the opening until you can't see light.
@Redeye1524 And yours are so great and peaceful, George Bush was the most just capitalist of all time all he had done is cause BRUTAL wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan while Marx was evil because he wanted the rich to rot and the workers to prosper. OH, socialism is evil and "undemocratic" while capitalism is so free with workers toiling under the fucking whip to the rich bosses "are you done, hurry up worker". FUCK CAPITALISM! VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
@Vim281 You reading this people? Bush was a bare minimum capitalist, but the wars in Iraq to take out Saddam Hussein who you know, gassed the Kurds and was an all around piece of garbage, is nothing to Mao who starved millions of poor on the country side and not to mention left his country in a shit hole until they started to *GASP!* Introduce capitalistic policies that allowed china to grow and prosper, or Stalin who killed countless in the great purge.
@Redeye1524 The irony in your statement is that China prospered NOT by capitalism, but of socialism and Stalin wasn't a communist he was a TOTALITARIAN dictator. True communism never existed so you can't criticize a political system that you don't know, and that wasn't achieved. There is no honest communism only until if we do the impossible, change our ways.
@Vim281 Than "true" communism can never exist if you hide behind bull shit like that. China is by all means a "state capitalist" or fascist country. Communism failed it, just check mao's reign.
If morons like you say we've never had true communism (even though we have under mao and it failed), under the people who killed millions to implement it than it will never happen, so you're just wasting your time pure and simple
And finished because wasting time on you is just sad on my part
@Redeye1524 Actually I'm not gonna continue arguing with an idiot capitalist like you ,why don't you just go work for a rich exploiter of a boss if it makes you happy, but don't take your bullshit out on a normal human being I don't want to be brought to your level so please stop arguing, you're a slave to the system.
@Vim281 Hey Vim, what are you a unionist or a government worker. In either case you're probably a worthless human being. My advice: Play Russian Roulette with an automatic.
@vince33x Actually vince, you're the worthless piece of dung that one wipes off their shoe when they step in the wrong place. As inspector Callihan once said: you're a legend in your own mind. (that's if you have one you can call your own)
@Redeye1524 The War in Iraq was a Proxy War for Israel. Bush did it because Ariel Sharon, the then PM of Israel told Bush to "take care of him or we will." Our Mid-East foreign policy has been driven by Tel Aviv since the Six Day War in 1967.
Yea, I would have to agree. No one, not even liberals hate small business owners. Heck most of the hippies from the 60s and 70s grew up to be some of them. It is the businesses like Wal-Mart or Mcdonalds that are causing significant damage to the American way of life.
All I'm saying is, yes you should tax the rich a little more than the middle class or poor, but not to the point where it destroys businesses! How retarded are most politicians?
Liberals will always "stand up" for small business owners, as long as they dont make too much of a profit, and become one of those evil, productive corporations! THEN its just pure "greed"! HAH!
great video. i was self employed for 8 years, usually barely made $18k/yr and my tax rate was 18%, theres also 1% tax for yearly earned income when you renew your business license, on top of alot of other misc crap you have to purchase being self employed. i always admire business owners, i know its alot of hard work and outrageous taxes going against them.
As far as I'm concerned, the gentleman in the video is middle class, not rich. People like him, are the ones that should be given tax breaks, not the rich. I don't know what kind of moron Crowder is, but if he really wanted to show us "EVIL RICH PEOPLE!", why didn't he interview one of those CEO's making tens of millions of dollars that pay less taxes than business owner in this video?
@djlazlow1 Thats simply not true. The top 2% of Americas pay MOST of the taxes, thats why they get the biggest tax breaks. They also invest money in companies which grow the economy.
@GermanConquistador08 Ill try to explain this to you. You own a successful muffin shop. If your taxes go down, and the average american taxes go up. They can no longer afford your muffins, but you have a ton of money. So will you invest in your american muffin shop, where there is low growth opportunities? or will you relocate your muffin shop to a place like china where there are large growth opportunities?
Now if the average american had more money for muffins, you might stay in america. yes?
@mark1m "Now if the average american had more money" - That way you do that is decrease taxes across the board. OR raise taxes across the board. Tax CUTS have nothing to do with that because that isnt money taken away from anyone but money already put into the system. "Rich people use those tax breaks to invest in growing foreign economies." - Rarely does it work like that. Rich people would rather develop the economy of their own nation because of tax incentives (Like the tax breaks)
@GermanConquistador08 rich people do invest more. But the problem is when you dissolve the middle class with tax policy... you dissolve the incentive to invest in the american economy. Rich people use those tax breaks to invest in growing foreign economies.
Investors invest where there is money to be made...and by giving more money to the middle class/poor you only incentivize the rich to invest in our economy rather than foreign economies. And that includes foreign investors.
@GermanConquistador08 if we spread wealth to the middle class/poor we actually attract foreign investors that want to take their money and we grow the shit out of our economy.
If you give a farmer less fertile land, and more money... hes less likely to plant crops. If you make the land more fertile, even if he has less money... hes more likely to plant crops there.
@mark1m " we spread wealth to the middle class/poor we actually attract foreign investors" -...what? Why would we want foreign investors when we already HAVE investeres here in America who would do that and grow American buisnesses that do contracts with foreign buisnesses, rather than the opposite? "If you give a farmer less fertile land, and more money... hes less likely to plant crops" - If he's able to grow crops at all. I'm not sure exactly what you're suggested
@GermanConquistador08 American investors are investing in foreign economies, because our middle class isnt growing fast enough.
What im suggesting is... if you are a farmer... i can give you $100,000, or spend $100,000 in enriching the local soil. If i enrich the soil, that increases your incentive to plant... if i just give the 100k to you directly, you have less incentive to plant. Because you will just think, well hell why am i farming when i got 100k? im going to cancun...
@mark1m "because our middle class isnt growing fast enough." - Currently? because America has one of the largest middle classes. "$100,000 in enriching the local soil" - Uh? Enriching soil? I dont know how much you know about farming..but it doesnt work that way.
@djlazlow1 Company makes a 2 million dollars = onwer some how made 2 million dollars. Got to tax that money some. Are tax scheme works in such away that they all need to go back to economics 101. A company that makes a profit of 10 million dollars is a good thing. That does not mean the onwer or CEO has made 10 million dollars. Are tax scheme does not see it that way. Big or small the company should not be taxed when it makes a profit and a company making a profit is not a bad thing.
@Epica124 A CEO is NOT the owner of a company! Don't mix things up, CEO's get taxed based on their income not the company's revenue. And why shouldn't a company be taxed? It's using up resources, land, water, taking advantage of the nation's security and infrastructure. They better pay taxes like everyone else! And nobody said that making a profit is a bad thing, don't put words in my mouth. All I'm saying is that we should have a progressive tax system without loopholes.
@djlazlow1 But somebody who owns and runs their own company would be listed as "Owner and CEO". They get taxed based on how much the company makes.
And I'm all for a flat tax system with no loop holes. Everybody pays X%. (Latest estimate I've seen would be 15%), That means a massive tax CUT for the rich, the middle class would stay about the same, and the lower income would have to pay taxes. But that wold make it harder for the Tax-n-spend types from promoting their policies.
@djlazlow1 it doesn't matter with "As far as I'm concerned". The facts don't lie. Those employees don't work for free. Their benefits aren't free. Neither is: that building, utility costs for that building, the equipment, the raw-materials, shipping materials, shipping product isn't free, nor advertising isn't free. Costs add up. It doesn't surprise me he has Million+ just in overhead...
Middle class people tend not to have employees, let alone run an international business (like Leland).
@djlazlow1 As far as the tax system and most of the leftists in America are concerned, this guy is upper class because he owns a business. Your opinion doesn't really matter.
And people who make more than this guy pay more in taxes. Stop quoting talking points and argue the facts.
@djlazlow1 I liked what you were saying when I saw "as far as Im concerned the gentleman in the video is middle class" But I want to point out that the kid is being Sarcastic and trying to make the point that this man is just a middle class business owner and that he shouldnt be in the highest taxed and so on..
@MsSarahJ56 That's an interesting point, which I had overlooked. The first impression I got was that Crowder was trying to portray true "EVIL RICH PEOPLE" as hard-working, small business owners like the one in this video. And yes this regressive tax system is a huge mess...
@djlazlow1 Have you watched the video? Steven explains how two thirds of small companies are in the highest tax brackets. Raising taxes will hit them.... Re: the carry interest guys you talk about, these people pay capital gains tax just like anybody else. Good luck raising cap gains when the market signals point to a new dive and the FED rate is at historic lows...
@djlazlow1 "RICH PEOPLE!", why didn't he interview one of those CEO's making tens of millions of dollars that pay less taxes than business owner in this video?"
Like the CEO of GE? Apple? If you did a little research you'd learn that these companies pay very little (if any) taxes and they tend to contribute a lot to Democrats. Al Gore is on Apple's board.
I worked for this guy about 6 years ago. He is absolutely one of the shadiest, most dishonest people I have ever worked for. To begin with Leland offered no benefits such as insurance (I'm not sure if they do yet). Leland has a very high turnover rate due to low pay and micromanagement from Tim. I only know of 3 people who are still working there, from the time I worked there. During the time I was there he would do anything to avoid paying taxes and sometimes his own vendors. He's a big liar!
The US tax code is filled with exceptions and loopholes exactly for companies like Leland. In theory, Leland would be in the highest tax bracket, but in practice he would never pay that much. Mr. Korzon could take a trip to H&R Block and have the amount he owes in taxes cut 70% or more because he's owns a small business and is reinvesting in it. The tax code has so many exceptions built in that even companies like Wal-Mart or Microsoft rarely pay the full amount.
Pretty accurate. Its funny how the media is all over corporations that ship jobs overseas, WHEN THE GOVERNMENT DOES THE EXACT SAME THING. And small businesses should not b in the same group as big businesses. That just does not make sense. I never knew they were put in the same group. Another job well done Steve
This guy is an idiot. He's not in the 2% bracket. Who cares about rich people when miliions upon millions in the middle class are suffering and losing their homes every day. Get your priorities straight idiot.
@philip0460 hey idiot who do you work for ...a rich person ..get your priorities straight rich people provide jobs so poor people can feed they're fucking families moron
@philip0460 who owns the companies moron ???????rich people . or do you think that companies appear overnight from the job fairy and god writes the paychecks
I think you an imbecilie dude. Yes, of course companies hire people... rich people with shares of stock actually own the companies, yes. But you are not penetrating what I'm saying. According to what YOU are interpreting, taxes will kill jobs. Errrr no! The tax rates were much hire in the 50s 60s 70s until Reagan raised YOUR taxes and lowered rich people's taxes which caused the deficits we have and the worst economy ever.
@philip0460 you are the imbecile reagan took the reigns from carter when we were on the brink of another depression and restored the economy to the best it had been since the 50's .. i am done with you . your fucking retardedly ignorant
@philip0460 my boss is super wealthy he owns 7 different companies the parent company was a mortgage firm . obama's new taxes and new mortgage rates forced him into a takeover and guess what now that he doesnt have his mortgage company to back the others he's closing them 1800 people out of work thanx to obama helping the little guy ...learn how the fucking world works
The middle class, which you are a part of Einstein, fuels the economy. Without us, companies have no one to buy their goods. IF you keep shrinking the middle class, companies will go out... not because the tax rate goes up to where it was throughout most of America's heyday... learn how the fucking world works.
@philip0460 i am middle class and yes it fuels the economy with the paychecks written by the rich people that write employ them Einstein ...and thanks to labor unions and eco nuts we dont make anything to buy in this country anymore ..learn how the fucking world works
You are dead wrong Mr. Brains. EVERY country is way more Green than we are and way more worker (labor) friendly than we are. Oh, sorry, maybe we're talking about China-- errr, you know, Communist China LOL.
@philip0460 every country is way more green then we are . have you been to an industrial country outside the u.s. i have and they are not eco friendly ..or labor friendy
You know what? I'm done with your ass. You're an idiot, plain, simple and profoundly. I can't understand how years of Bush and Reagan and people going hungry losing jobs and wars and drama and we still have idiots like you voting for teabaggers like Sarah "I can see Russia from my house" Palin. I will NOT reply to you again so write all you want because you are the stupiest human being on YouTube. Oh, have a nice day.
@philip0460 funny i think the same thing about you , and your talking shit about communists but you back the socialist/communist democrats ...typical double talk from a fucking douchebag liberal
@philip0460 and for the record i hate palin . i think she is as dumb as they come . well maybe not as dumb as pelosi or napolotano or clinton . any other dumbocrat but she is pretty dumb as far as conservatives go
She sure is dumb. I disagree with you about Pelosi, Napolitano and Clinton. You sound like a misogynist by picking all women. Don't you think much of women dude?
@philip0460 you would disagree because your a sheep dumbocrat pelosi is fucking retarded but then again so is anybody that thinks big government is the way to go
@philip0460 hey goof when did i say the n word ...show me that comment please ...homo is short for homosexual which you clearly are after watching your vids . and thats not all you are , you are a communist loving douchebag that has not 1 clue how the real world works and you support a politcal party because they love gay rights . well guess whau else they support THE KKK i wonder what them boys would do to a pillow biter like you
@philip0460 bill gates and steve jobs two of the richest men in america have created millions of jobs and thousands of companies capitalism at its finest
Oh, and don't forget Richard Branson. Each of them has said numerous times I don't need a tax break give it to the middle class. Why do you think they keep donating tons of money to charity LOL.
@philip0460 yep and richard branson also preches about being eco friendly as he trots around the globe in his g6 jet destroying the environment lefty . and once you start taxing the rich 50 60 70 percent to take care of the middle they will change they're tune
This guy is a moron, and if you think his cool or funny or whatever you are one sorry exuse ....... The problems this Leland fellow has is not what the "hate the rich" cries are about, and he knows it.
My father owns a Landscape architect business. Before the depression he had eight employees. Right now he has two. He says that if he wasnt taxed so high he could have one or two more employees, which he really needs or his failing business will have to end.
Just because he has a company and is an American, does not meant that he is entitled to a tax cut that will put a $700 billion dollar hole in the budget. If anyone out there honestly thinks you can keep giving tax cuts to people without cutting our military and social program budgets and somehow decrease the size of the deficit at the same time then you are a moron.
the way it works is this. I am a big business. The money I make support a disproportionate chunk of American spending. Now, if your going to give tax cuts to people, it should be equal percentages. But if you start taxing me more to cover your cost of over spending as the government, then I can either pay more, or leave to another place where I can invest my money and get more return. Can you guess what happens when the rich leave with all of their tax money? Look at California
@Dakota2063 My point is that there needs to be no tax cuts for anyone if you are serious about reducing the deficit. Also instead of all these tax cuts constantly injecting uncertainty into the system, we should just have a flat tax. (It would help to get rid of all the loopholes and end the tax cut debates)
@Peaceandlove787 and my point is, if you tax too much, the business will up and leave.
as for flat tax, what about the poor? if they make only a hundred dollars and we had a flat 10% tax, would the government really need that $10 dollars more then that person? that is why our taxes allow for the poor to pay less, so that those that can afford it, do, and those that can't, don't. other than that it comes out to a simple math, with slight increases the higher the income bracket. I have more....
@Peaceandlove787 second part. but think of a tax cut this way. most business would invest that money to increasing their infrastructure and paying their employees. that money is then put back into the market to be spent on other goods. it is then taxed again. So the more money that is left to invest into the market, the healthier the market.
tax what we need. but the only real solution to the deficit is to decrease spending to below our intake of taxes. which means cutting back on programs.
@Dakota2063 The main problem with what you are saying is that we will never be able to decrease our spending level to below our intake of taxes if we give tax cuts (or keep tax rates the same for that matter) unless we cut military spending (23% of spending in 2009), Social Security (20%), and medicare and medicaid (19%). We can cut everything else until we are blue in the face but without making changes to those three we are never going to stop the deficit from growing.
@Peaceandlove787 I didn't say it would be easy. Nor Am I saying to just give a tax break to anyone. What I' am saying is to be careful about the amount you tax. The reason we have a deficit is we spend way to much, implemented way to many government programs, and converted too much to government control.
The more that is under government control or spending the less there is to tax. shifting the burden of taxes to the richer. We probably are going to have to cut a lot, not increase spending.
Them stinking dumbocrats want to take all that poor guys money...WTF..Why should HE have to help pay down the deficit? Our kids will do it for us. Why shouldn't they help pay for the awesome standard of living they will inherit. The government just needs to borrow a lil bit more from China is all. They can't print enough cash to pay the interest on what we already owe but thats OK. They will get caught up. By then, Inflation will make that poor guys millions come in really handy.I hope he shares
@qixxxz you're an idiot, you completely missed the part about how that money was reinvested in the company and not sitting in this one guys bank account.
The 60 people who disliked this video, simply don't like seeing the facts. THE FACTS ARE HERE!! WHAT DO YOU WANT?? I can't believe that people think that every business owner in America is a millionare! These politicians are paid too much...that's the problem. They view everyone as making just as much as they do. A few friends of mine are small business owners, per-se, they make $4000 checks every two weeks..the gvmt takes $2000 from that and then charged them over $10,000 for taxes last year!!!
@NoFaceNowThatsAce No actually Crowder's viewers are mindless sponges like yourself and people with brains don't typically watch his unfunny and stupid videos. I'm just here for the lulz. That's how it is with every political video on here. People on the right tend to watch videos from people on the right. People on the left tend to watch people's videos who are on the left. Also the second most thumbed up comment is a douchebag saying "Steven!" over and over again. Need I say more?
@BaBYPuNCheR133 lol both Liberals and Conservatives.view this video and not every viewer comments. Instead of mocking us why not tell us why our views are so wrong and moronic? So thumbs ups only represent a small number of people. And yes, you should say more.
@NoFaceNowThatsAce Actually I won't as there are plenty of left wing videos that can do that for you. Go look at TheAmazingAtheist's latest video. See how much of the people who watched it thumbed up as opposed to the people who thumbed it down? That was the case I was making.
@BaBYPuNCheR133 Doesn't matter to me what TAA's views are anyway. Just because it's popular doesn't make it right. Lots of people were against blacks in the 60's, did that make it right? Many people in Germany loved Hitler and Nazism, does that make it right? I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is reality whether you want to believe it or not. My comment you replied to was about 2 thumbs ups more than the other guy. I made a valid case didn't I? True, "Steven, Steven..." isn't too smart.
@NoFaceNowThatsAce What are you on? Did I say anything about how popular his views were? First of all his views are UNpopular and Crowders viewpoints are very popular so you just owned yourself. I was defending the point I made which was that political videos are usually going to have much more thumbs up then thumbs down because people watch the people who have the same beliefs as them. Get it now?
@BaBYPuNCheR133 lol I'm not the one calling names and cussing. My post was from 2 months ago. I'd say you're trolling. I can stop whenever you'd like, just don't reply. :)
@NoFaceNowThatsAce are you so stupid not to do your own math? 4,000 x 24 (for a check every 2 weeks x 12 months/year) = 96,000 a year. that is just over 10.4% (if taxes paid equals 10,000)
now lets take someone that makes 1/4 of that or 2,000 a month, or 24,000 a year. 2496 (if at 10.4%) in reality they paid closer to 3,181 (or 13.25%)
if your friend is charged at the 13.25% it would be 12,724. furthermore, your friend gets a lot of that (if not all of it) back when filing their taxes.
@mitthar I mixed up a few's sums together. He told me that he was charged over $10,000 for his business and he had given himself a few checks equivalent to $.01 that he never cashed so that employees could have something to provide for their families. On his personal income, he still owed money to the IRS. The one making $4000 lost their restaurant. Happy now?
13% tax increase??? I REALLY doubt it's that high. Source? Either way, capitalism has gone too far when the rich have gotten progressively richer and the poor have become poorer.
@mattdyer0 Actually, the poor became richer and the rich became super duper richer. Seriously, most Americans own multiple TVs, a car, and have some form of access to the internet. Freedom sir, freedom. Freedom to live how you want as well as freedom on how to run your business. I should be allowed to be as giving as I want or as selfish as I want.
@mattdyer0 Really? That's $13,000 from every $100,000 or $0.13 on every $1. Sure does seem alot either way when you're strapped for cash in today's economy. And that's how they get you, sure it's only 13%, then they raise it again, sure it's only 15%, then again and again and again until its 60% and you're still saying "Sure it's only..." because you've gotten so used to it. We can't allow the government anymore of our money. They don't need more money, they need to stop spending.
@mattdyer0 That would mean a 39.6% tax rate... At the base $373,650 for the highest tax bracket, they have to pay $147,965.40 to only the federal government, and that isn't counting state taxes, which in California for example would be another 9.3% over the 39.6%, a total of 48.9%, or $182,714.85 out of the $373,650.
All this while the bottom 47% of Americans didn't even have to pay federal income taxes for 2009? Most of the benefits go to the bottom half anyway....yet they don't even pay...
Stephen Crowder is a religious, theocracy-loving nutjob.
But video is really great, keep it up Stephen. Hopefully when you get your "Christian Nation" it will be at least slightly more capitalistic than every other Christian Nation in the past.
@Sam26100 Really? He makes a vid about a subject completely unrelated to the inane ramblings you've just expressed and you find a way to attack his religious beliefs? way to go you free speech loving, just lookin' out for the little guy as long as they believe my way left wing nutjob. Grow up.
@FunknGrvn Who said I'm left wing? if you'd read what I wrote carefully you would have realized I"m a free-market Capitalist.
No in this video he doesn't say anything about religion, but in other videos I've heard him shamelessly lying about how we're supposed to be a "Christian Nation" and I'm revulted by it.
The complete ignorance in the idea that we'd be a more free nation or have less government if we all believed in God is sickening.
@GodlessInfinity So freedom, especially for the productive people in society, doesn't work then? Got it. To the firing squads comrades! Free pie for everyone! zombietime com thepeoplescube com iowahawk typepad com colonelrobertneville blogspot com steynonline com Tim Blair blog Daily Telegraph
@karozans What does this have to do my sense of humor? I wasn't even trying to be funny. At least I'm not a 30 year old dim-wit with a gayass name like korazons and Homer Simpson display pic screaming steven! steven! 62 times.
@karozans So how long have you been in closet, Mr. karozans ? I don't know what's in that link and I seriously don't give a fuck but I'm not taking any chance by watching it as it may turn out to be some gay midget porn you want me to show, you might fancy it but don't drag me into it., mate.
PS: And what a libtard? looks like some made-up urban dictionary word. Seriously weak!
No tax brackets. Tax everyone at the same rate, no exceptions, no deductions, no "sin" taxes, no "virtue" tax credits or exemptions. Max tax rate of 12%, preferably sales tax. Require a balanced budget based on no more than 15% of GDP.
@Hiraghm Deregulating everything isn't the answer, it's utterly naive to think that the answer to all of the worlds problems is to abolish regulation.
I don't care about the world's problems, I care about the U.S. problems. The problems we're dealing with today, including the financial meltdown, is a result of irrational regulation. No where does the gov't have a mandate for 90% of the regulation it has done, and the other 10% is overdone.
Let the evolutionary process work, and matters will take care of themselves.
@Hiraghm "Irrational regulation?" Deregulation is what brought us into this mess in the first place, whether it was for the banks, or the oil companies, or the big businesses. You present yourself as a typical conservative, only caring about America's problems and not the rest of the world, but it is, in fact, that attitude that will turn the US into Ancient Greece after it fell. Taxing everybody at the same rate does nothing but leave more money for the rich people who owe this country.
@Hiraghm George Bush was THE KING of deregulation during his presidency, especially during when his party controlled the Congress. Regulation only makes capitalism fairer so as to provide more opportunities to people with less wealth.
If you tax everyone at the same rate, you may get more money from the rich, but the poor still has to pay for it. That's why there needs to be tax cuts for 98% of Americans in a more progressive tax policy.

That's all.

Likewise, the taxes of the Clinton admin. didn't keep the economy from booming.

djlazlow1 11 months ago
@djlazlow1 Thats simply not true. The top 2% of Americas pay MOST of the taxes, thats why they get the biggest tax breaks. They also invest money in companies which grow the economy.
GermanConquistador08 11 months ago
@GermanConquistador08 Ill try to explain this to you. You own a successful muffin shop. If your taxes go down, and the average american taxes go up. They can no longer afford your muffins, but you have a ton of money. So will you invest in your american muffin shop, where there is low growth opportunities? or will you relocate your muffin shop to a place like china where there are large growth opportunities?
Now if the average american had more money for muffins, you might stay in america. yes?
mark1m 11 months ago
@mark1m "Now if the average american had more money" - That way you do that is decrease taxes across the board. OR raise taxes across the board. Tax CUTS have nothing to do with that because that isnt money taken away from anyone but money already put into the system. "Rich people use those tax breaks to invest in growing foreign economies." - Rarely does it work like that. Rich people would rather develop the economy of their own nation because of tax incentives (Like the tax breaks)
GermanConquistador08 11 months ago
@GermanConquistador08 rich people do invest more. But the problem is when you dissolve the middle class with tax policy... you dissolve the incentive to invest in the american economy. Rich people use those tax breaks to invest in growing foreign economies.
Investors invest where there is money to be made...and by giving more money to the middle class/poor you only incentivize the rich to invest in our economy rather than foreign economies. And that includes foreign investors.
mark1m 11 months ago
@GermanConquistador08 if we spread wealth to the middle class/poor we actually attract foreign investors that want to take their money and we grow the shit out of our economy.
If you give a farmer less fertile land, and more money... hes less likely to plant crops. If you make the land more fertile, even if he has less money... hes more likely to plant crops there.
mark1m 11 months ago
@mark1m " we spread wealth to the middle class/poor we actually attract foreign investors" -...what? Why would we want foreign investors when we already HAVE investeres here in America who would do that and grow American buisnesses that do contracts with foreign buisnesses, rather than the opposite? "If you give a farmer less fertile land, and more money... hes less likely to plant crops" - If he's able to grow crops at all. I'm not sure exactly what you're suggested
GermanConquistador08 11 months ago
@GermanConquistador08 American investors are investing in foreign economies, because our middle class isnt growing fast enough.
What im suggesting is... if you are a farmer... i can give you $100,000, or spend $100,000 in enriching the local soil. If i enrich the soil, that increases your incentive to plant... if i just give the 100k to you directly, you have less incentive to plant. Because you will just think, well hell why am i farming when i got 100k? im going to cancun...

Epica124 10 months ago
@Epica124 A CEO is NOT the owner of a company! Don't mix things up, CEO's get taxed based on their income not the company's revenue. And why shouldn't a company be taxed? It's using up resources, land, water, taking advantage of the nation's security and infrastructure. They better pay taxes like everyone else! And nobody said that making a profit is a bad thing, don't put words in my mouth. All I'm saying is that we should have a progressive tax system without loopholes.
djlazlow1 10 months ago
@djlazlow1 But somebody who owns and runs their own company would be listed as "Owner and CEO". They get taxed based on how much the company makes.
And I'm all for a flat tax system with no loop holes. Everybody pays X%. (Latest estimate I've seen would be 15%), That means a massive tax CUT for the rich, the middle class would stay about the same, and the lower income would have to pay taxes. But that wold make it harder for the Tax-n-spend types from promoting their policies.
PetronPendrake 10 months ago
@djlazlow1 it doesn't matter with "As far as I'm concerned". The facts don't lie. Those employees don't work for free. Their benefits aren't free.

Peaceandlove787 1 year ago
@Peaceandlove787
the way it works is this.
Dakota2063 1 year ago
@Dakota2063 My point is that there needs to be no tax cuts for anyone if you are serious about reducing the deficit. Also instead of all these tax cuts constantly injecting uncertainty into the system, we should just have a flat tax. (It would help to get rid of all the loopholes and end the tax cut debates)
Peaceandlove787 1 year ago
@Peaceandlove787 and my point is, if you tax too much, the business will up and leave.
as for flat tax, what about the poor? if they make only a hundred dollars and we had a flat 10% tax, would the government really need that $10 dollars more then that person? that is why our taxes allow for the poor to pay less, so that those that can afford it, do, and those that can't, don't. other than that it comes out to a simple math, with slight increases the higher the income bracket. I have more....
Dakota2063 1 year ago
@Peaceandlove787 second part. but think of a tax cut this way. most business would invest that money to increasing their infrastructure and paying their employees. that money is then put back into the market to be spent on other goods. it is then taxed again. So the more money that is left to invest into the market, the healthier the market.
tax what we need. but the only real solution to the deficit is to decrease spending to below our intake of taxes. which means cutting back on programs.
Dakota2063 1 year ago
@Dakota2063 The main problem with what you are saying is that we will never be able to decrease our spending level to below our intake of taxes if we give tax cuts (or keep tax rates the same for that matter) unless we cut military spending (23% of spending in 2009), Social Security (20%), and medicare and medicaid (19%). We can cut everything else until we are blue in the face but without making changes to those three we are never going to stop the deficit from growing.
Peaceandlove787 1 year ago
@Peaceandlove787 I didn't say it would be easy. Nor Am I saying to just give a tax break to anyone. What I' am saying is to be careful about the amount you tax. The reason we have a deficit is we spend way to much, implemented way to many government programs, and converted too much to government control.
The more that is under government control or spending the less there is to tax. shifting the burden of taxes to the richer. We probably are going to have to cut a lot, not increase spending.

This is the best video Steven has made in a long time.
karozans 1 year ago 5
The 60 people who disliked this video, simply don't like seeing the facts. THE FACTS ARE HERE!! WHAT DO YOU WANT?? I can't believe that people think that every business owner in America is a millionare! These politicians are paid too much...that's the problem. They view everyone as making just as much as they do. A few friends of mine are small business owners, per-se, they make $4000 checks every two weeks..the gvmt takes $2000 from that and then charged them over $10,000 for taxes last year!!!
NoFaceNowThatsAce 1 year ago 31
@NoFaceNowThatsAce No actually Crowder's viewers are mindless sponges like yourself and people with brains don't typically watch his unfunny and stupid videos. I'm just here for the lulz. That's how it is with every political video on here. People on the right tend to watch videos from people on the right. People on the left tend to watch people's videos who are on the left. Also the second most thumbed up comment is a douchebag saying "Steven!" over and over again. Need I say more?
BaBYPuNCheR133 1 year ago
@BaBYPuNCheR133 lol both Liberals and Conservatives.view this video and not every viewer comments. Instead of mocking us why not tell us why our views are so wrong and moronic? So thumbs ups only represent a small number of people. And yes, you should say more.
NoFaceNowThatsAce 1 year ago
@NoFaceNowThatsAce Actually I won't as there are plenty of left wing videos that can do that for you. Go look at TheAmazingAtheist's latest video. See how much of the people who watched it thumbed up as opposed to the people who thumbed it down? That was the case I was making.
BaBYPuNCheR133 1 year ago
@BaBYPuNCheR133 Doesn't matter to me what TAA's views are anyway. Just because it's popular doesn't make it right. Lots of people were against blacks in the 60's, did that make it right? Many people in Germany loved Hitler and Nazism, does that make it right? I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is reality whether you want to believe it or not. My comment you replied to was about 2 thumbs ups more than the other guy. I made a valid case didn't I? True, "Steven, Steven..." isn't too smart.
NoFaceNowThatsAce 1 year ago
@NoFaceNowThatsAce What are you on? Did I say anything about how popular his views were? First of all his views are UNpopular and Crowders viewpoints are very popular so you just owned yourself. I was defending the point I made which was that political videos are usually going to have much more thumbs up then thumbs down because people watch the people who have the same beliefs as them. Get it now?
BaBYPuNCheR133 1 year ago
@BaBYPuNCheR133 lol I missed your point? You missed mine.

@NoFaceNowThatsAce No I got your point. Basically you are a close minded douche who doesn't care about anyone else's opinion.

@BaBYPuNCheR133 lol I'm not the one calling names and cussing. My post was from 2 months ago. I'd say you're trolling. I can stop whenever you'd like, just don't reply. :)
NoFaceNowThatsAce 1 year ago
@NoFaceNowThatsAce are you so stupid not to do your own math? 4,000 x 24 (for a check every 2 weeks x 12 months/year) = 96,000 a year. that is just over 10.4% (if taxes paid equals 10,000)
now lets take someone that makes 1/4 of that or 2,000 a month, or 24,000 a year. 2496 (if at 10.4%) in reality they paid closer to 3,181 (or 13.25%)
if your friend is charged at the 13.25% it would be 12,724. furthermore, your friend gets a lot of that (if not all of it) back when filing their taxes.
mitthar 9 months ago
@mitthar I mixed up a few's sums together. He told me that he was charged over $10,000 for his business and he had given himself a few checks equivalent to $.01 that he never cashed so that employees could have something to provide for their families. On his personal income, he still owed money to the IRS. The one making $4000 lost their restaurant. Happy now?
NoFaceNowThatsAce 9 months ago
13% tax increase??? I REALLY doubt it's that high. Source? Either way, capitalism has gone too far when the rich have gotten progressively richer and the poor have become poorer.
mattdyer0 1 year ago
@mattdyer0 Actually, the poor became richer and the rich became super duper richer. Seriously, most Americans own multiple TVs, a car, and have some form of access to the internet. Freedom sir, freedom. Freedom to live how you want as well as freedom on how to run your business. I should be allowed to be as giving as I want or as selfish as I want.
NoNameC68 1 year ago 2
@mattdyer0 Really? That's $13,000 from every $100,000 or $0.13 on every $1. Sure does seem alot either way when you're strapped for cash in today's economy. And that's how they get you, sure it's only 13%, then they raise it again, sure it's only 15%, then again and again and again until its 60% and you're still saying "Sure it's only..." because you've gotten so used to it. We can't allow the government anymore of our money. They don't need more money, they need to stop spending.
NoFaceNowThatsAce 1 year ago 3

Sam26100 1 year ago
@Sam26100 Really? He makes a vid about a subject completely unrelated to the inane ramblings you've just expressed and you find a way to attack his religious beliefs? way to go you free speech loving, just lookin' out for the little guy as long as they believe my way left wing nutjob. Grow up.
FunknGrvn 1 year ago
@FunknGrvn Who said I'm left wing? if you'd read what I wrote carefully you would have realized I"m a free-market Capitalist.
No in this video he doesn't say anything about religion, but in other videos I've heard him shamelessly lying about how we're supposed to be a "Christian Nation" and I'm revulted by it.
The complete ignorance in the idea that we'd be a more free nation or have less government if we all believed in God is sickening.

White balance!!!
Seriously, if the loophole is closed where businesses get to offshore jobs and still get corporate tax breaks is closed, the tax breaks can stay.
kingttx 1 year ago
No tax brackets. Tax everyone at the same rate, no exceptions, no deductions, no "sin" taxes, no "virtue" tax credits or exemptions. Max tax rate of 12%, preferably sales tax. Require a balanced budget based on no more than 15% of GDP.
Deregulate EVERYTHING.
Hiraghm 1 year ago
@Hiraghm Deregulating everything isn't the answer, it's utterly naive to think that the answer to all of the worlds problems is to abolish regulation.
GodlessInfinity 1 year ago
@GodlessInfinity
Hiraghm 1 year ago
@Hiraghm "Irrational regulation?" Deregulation is what brought us into this mess in the first place, whether it was for the banks, or the oil companies, or the big businesses. You present yourself as a typical conservative, only caring about America's problems and not the rest of the world, but it is, in fact, that attitude that will turn the US into Ancient Greece after it fell. Taxing everybody at the same rate does nothing but leave more money for the rich people who owe this country.
VoiceHunter 1 year ago
@VoiceHunter
No... they regulated and then did not oversee and enforce the regulation.
When you regulate, you create opportunities to game the system.
When you tax everyone at the same rate, you tax the wealthy more, automatically.
If you "leave more money" for rich people, they do evil things like buy products, start companies, hire employees, donate to charities...
Hiraghm 1 year ago
@Hiraghm George Bush was THE KING of deregulation during his presidency, especially during when his party controlled the Congress. Regulation only makes capitalism fairer so as to provide more opportunities to people with less wealth.
If you tax everyone at the same rate, you may get more money from the rich, but the poor still has to pay for it. That's why there needs to be tax cuts for 98% of Americans in a more progressive tax policy.
