I don't know about you, but my Conservative roots are what make me turn all the lights off in the house and unplug cell phone and lap top chargers when I'm not using them, and run my air conditioner only when I need to. I don't waste food either.  The problem here is that we are getting our news selectively and unfortunately I would have to say that the progressives are the LEAST informed on current issues. They only see the world through civil rights and social justice lenses.

Increasing taxes during a severe economic recession will move what few remaining American manufacturing plants, which have at least SOME environmental controls, to developing countries where there are NO environmental controls.

The net result will be millions of Americans driven into poverty and INCREASED global CO2 and pollution as manufacturing companies move overseas.

this cap and trade vote should have happened about 39 years ago, when it would have been significantly cheaper. but, plants are closing because nobody is spending,and that happened long before obama was elected president. to blame this on cap and trade is nuts. you aren't paying for climate change nimrod. you are paying for something that started years ago,the deindustrialization of america. and you can blame that on management who wanted to de-unionize industry
