  • Flashing to another BIOS ahahaha wow. Funny stuff. A BIOS flash won't change the vid that is set when the card is binned. All the AIB's run different vids on the cards.

  • 1080p please

  • ROFL so funny.

    the dude was like

lets see what the chicken does this time.

when you do this all day long.. the chicken is the most entertaining issue, rofl

  • I want to have their job when I grow up :)) XD

  • Lol look at the chicken!!!!

    the most complex part! XD

  • knowing nividia, the base 4xx series will be 400, and itll go up from there, dammit =_=

  • the only reason why i would get nvidia over ATI is cuz of the 3d vision, thats it really, i like ATI but i love the Nvidia 3d vision! so yeah but i wonder how much this shit is gonna cost me. Better not be more then the 5970!

  • GTX 480 is probably going to be $600-$700.

    Wow.

  • @Usul573 or 1200...

  • I doubt that, it wouldn't sell AT ALL

  • @Usul573 you may never know !

  • You can play most games just fine on a $130 card, how much do you think something at that price would sell?

  • @Usul573

    $349USD for gtx470

    $499USD for the gtx480

    Retail release date: 4/21/10

    Shipment date : 4/07/10

  • @Mrinfinit3

    Yeah I know.

A lot of people thought it would be more like $600, but no.

  • @Usul573

I think it's great..I just ordered some last week... though our distributor is limiting us to 10x ea for the first 30days after launch. I personally haven't decided between going 2x 480's or 3x 470's in SLI... Think Ill have to wait and see the diff.

  • @Mrinfinit3 unless you have some inside info/benches i don't know about :)

  • @Mrinfinit3

Oh wow, that's some serious horsepower.

Do you do a lot of benchmarks?

  • @Usul573

I mean, me, I'm still using old glory, the 8800 GTX, the graphics card that four years after it comes out still plays games coming out at maximum settings 1920x1200.

  • @Usul573

Constantly... my/our Co. is 80% R&D and 20% retail. 10% of that retail comes from our Carbon fiber mobo back plates and CF overlayed cases. So we try to run some of the latest equipment during our benches/OC's while keeping that equipment in the price range of the avg. consumer. Our current bench rig has 2x 275's (OC to 750/1605/1236) w/ and 8800gtx as dedicated physX. They say with the gtx400's that there is no more need for dedicated physX gpus. Which I can't wait to test :)

  • @Mrinfinit3

Do some games really not like dual GPU setups?

I'd imagine some are just a slight boost if you have two, but I guess when they make the game they have to keep that in mind.

Using a dedicated card for physX is interesting. I think Batman Arkham Asylum recommends a GTX 260 and a 9800 GT to do it, but I wonder if any card that can do physx works ok. Like a GT 220 or GT 240.

  • @Usul573

The GTS250 is an updated version of the 9800gtx but overclocks much much better. We have seen dual lightly over clocked GTS250's in SLI out perform GTX260'sin SLI in both 3dmark vantage and Crysis runs. Some games do not like SLI like DOW:2. Most RTS's are SLI sensitive but are prone to be more CPU biased than anything. Sorry it took so long to reply.

  • ati have iz3d, but it is premature

  • @Jamesthechop ok well dont know man....

  • this guy dont know shit,,, since when is 1920 x 1200, 1080p???

  • They should have tested it against a GTX 295.

  • dude single card solution not a Dual vs single..

  • @shinraorg

As in GPU computing... the GTX480 outputs approx 20% more "computing" power than the gtx295 and generates less heat than the dual pcb model.

If your looking into buying... just stay away from EVGA for the moment... they are having some Q/A issues and are shipping out FERMI cards w/ mixed voltage ratings which cause stability and heating issues. The top FERMI "brands" to go with currently are ASUS ,Galaxy, and Gigabyte. (In that order) EVGA users should re-flash bios to ASUS ver .003

  • @Mrinfinit3 Your comments are complete and utter bogus. please go the EVGA forum to find comments made by the EVGA Product manager in regards to your comments

  • @robert3892 Do you one better bud. I'll drive over there on Weds. (Have to pick-up some 460s we're fitting our LN2 POTs on) I'll grab someone (will not name him on here)directly and talk to him about it during lunch :) My advice would be to start visiting more "non-Bias" forums such as the nvidia direct , ocn, or my personal favorite trubritarforums. Remember EVGA needs to make $. Although EVGA's 2nd revisions have gotten better since the .001 BIOS package, I stand by my comment.

  • @Mrinfinit3 You can stand by your comments but you have no proof to back them up. Contact the EVGA product manager or make your comments in the EVGA forum.

  • @Mrinfinit3 Here is the reply from the EVGA product manager Jacob Freeman to you: "No truth to this at all, where did you see this posted?

In fact, different cards will ship with different voltages, this is part of the binning process and is not particular to EVGA in any way whatsoever."

  • how will it run on a gts 250 1GB?

  • gotta run at a lower resolution... best to run it on a DX9 rather than a DX10 with that card

  • @AppleKidzTechTak just get the GTX 470 it will beat your card probably by 50 FPS

  • thats 35fps more......

    nice

  • sweet, faster than the gtx 285, hope this gives more than the 5970.

  • @rayright15 Far Cry 2 is a Nvidia optimized game, morron
