I'd love to like even one Mel Brooks film. I get excited when I saw the "Springtime for Hitler" piece in The Producers, but was quickly disappointed after that. IMHO, he's just not that funny. @josh2ee I'm fairly certain that the inquisition overlapped the Protestant Reformation. In fact, if I remember correctly, Martin Luther was threatened to be turned over to the Inquisition, though I don't know if he was to be delivered to the *Spanish* Inquisition, since he was actually a German. I understand that not many Protestants were tried in the Spanish Inquisition because Spain had very few Protestants, but they *were* still tried. They weren't treated as badly as the Jews were, though.
