OMG never realised that Dennis Hopper died---29 May 2010. This film had a huge impact
on me. Guess I was around 16 when I first saw it. Brilliant soundtrack as well.
( RIP Dennis ).
You could smoke in the cinemas in those days. I remember I always lit up a fag before Jack got killed and another one before Peter and Dennis were killed at the end.
I've always loved the lyrics in this song. Especially the line, "..and wander through the forest, where the the trees have leaves of prisms that break the light in color's that no one knows the names of" So fucking cool! Thank you for posting!
Those rednecks killed those defenseless 'friends' of ours. They killed George (Jack), Billy (Dennis) and Wyatt aka 'Captain America' (Peter). Shame, they should have made it back but I guess they weren't expecting to either way...
IN 69 I Conformed to nothing,i thought i would write my own story easy rider was my benchmark, but little by little i towed the line and it never happened but HOW I WISH?
Yeah, funny how “stuff” creeps up on you isn’t it? We don’t plan on growing up do we? So when that day comes to tell the “man” to shove it or he sez don’t come back Monday we can become who we want to be, like back then. Jon Kaye probably said it best with “It’s never too late start all over again”.
@maf5454 Sorry i did not get back to you, under pressure as bowie might not say,i find it sad that i missed oppertunities just because i was having a ball, but the party did not last long enough, and as the carousel slows it allows me to see my deamons clearly, God Bless
My crazy Dad! The one and only time he took all of us kids to the movies was when we went to see Easy Rider... I was like 4 or 5 and vaguely remember the movie.... But it was a big deal, that I remember! Saw it at the Golden Gate Theatre in East Los Angeles, CA!
@JIMMIESURFS As Dennis himself explained, all the shooting while riding is done at tops 15MPH, so thats the least of their worries, biggest was to even keep the bike from falling over! :D

I remember when a clip from Easy Rider was shown at The Academy Awards in 1969. So long ago. Long may you run, Dennis. Merry Christmas 2011 to all!

how fitting the byrds music was in the film since fonda's charecter was based on roger mcguinn and hopper's was david crosby.

R.I.P Billy(Dennis)
I will want to die beneath the white cascading waters
She may beg, she may plead, she may argue with her logic
And then she'll know the things I learned
That really have no value in the end she will surely know
I wasn't born to follow.
