  • Leave it to YouTube to fucking over-analyze the shit out of everything and completely miss the goddamn joke. The joke is that Jenna violated the number one rule of improv, which is always say yes. You're always supposed to accept your partner's offers, thus adding to the scene and moving it forward. Not only did Jenna completely block the offer, she also didn't get the obvious fact that Liz was Sling Blade, not Oprah. That's why she's a terrible improviser.

  • She is truly the greatest actress of our time

  • I dont get it

  • So this is my favorite example of how to screw up "Yes and..." in improv

  • "No you don't, Oprah"! LOL> I die!

  • THIS MAKES ME LAUGH SO HARD

i just love both of them.

  • It's funny because Jenny didn't realize that Liz was imitating Karl from Sling Blade and not Oprah

  • @potentialavalanche really??

  • @potentialavalanche i think they were both making a joke-sketch...make the audience think that Liz was slingblade and then Jenna offers the punchline...it was meant to be a bit, not Jenna being ignorant

  • @potsiiscool The scene preceding this was Liz saying how bad Jenna is at improv. So it's very unlikely it was meant in the way you took it. It seems more likely to it was meant to show Jenna's stupidity.

  • @TheIgaram she was bad at delivering a line not remembering it. That's what makes sense to me

  • @potsiiscool In improv, there's no real lines to memorize since they're making it up on the spot based on audience suggestion. The joke here is that Jenna broke one of the most important rules of improv in multiple ways in only one sentence. (The rule is that you're supposed to go along with what you're partner is saying and doing, and the world of the scene they're building. It's called"yes and-ing.") Hope that clears it up a bit.

  • @SketchComedyCrew i know about the "never say no" rule but i'd never connected the dots. Maybe your right, certainly not a big thing to argue over though :D

  • @potsiiscool Wasn't trying to give the impression that I was arguing! Terribly sorry.

  • @potsiiscool That's the thing though, if she was bad at delivering a line then your theory doesn't make sense. Because this is funny. Meaning the delivery was successful.

  • @TheIgaram Not exactly. Karen Smith in Mean Girls is incredibly stupid yet her lines were cleverly written (that doesn't mean she's equally clever.) . The world inside the screen reacts differently to the actual viewers watching. Anyway, lets not argue over something that pointless :D

  • @potsiiscool But Jenna delivering that line correctly means that it doesn't fit with that Liz said about her being bad at improv. That only fits if Jenna truly did think Liz was pretending to be Oprah.

  • @TheIgaram bad at improv could mean bad delivery. but what you're saying makes sense.

  • @potentialavalanche it's funny cause it's true

  • Jenna is a god. A dumb, self-centred, and immature god. I love her.

  • so good..... :D

  • *facepalm* lol

  • Jenna is a creation of pure genius.

  • Jenna's confidence in her reply is amazing.
