10 reasons why I love Koh Samui

Koh Samui is nice but sorry my friend,the beaches in the caribbean are much better !

I went there last month for 2 weeks and i was disappointed!

My wife and i are traveling to Thailand in June for two weeks. We plan on visiting Bangkok for a couple days, Chang Mai for a few days and end up in the South somewhere. We're struggling to decide on weather we should stay on 1)Ko Samui Ko Pha Ngan, Ko Tao, or 2)Phuket, Krabi, Ko Phi Phi and Phi Lei

Any thoughts or recommendations on which of the two options to choose? Of course we're looking for the works, some hiking activites, quite beaches, and decent nightlife. Thanks!

@wpgoodpeople Sorry I missed your comment. It depends on what you're looking for anyway. For quiet beaches, Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao; for nightlife, Bangkok.

What's wrong with Samui? I lived there for the better part of a year and only passed by Chaweng two or maybe three times, and it was the only part of the island I didn't like. I hardly think you could call that a representative sample...

I dfo think that samui is going to be a bad, overbuilt place soon, look at the island and you can comper it to the cannery island bad,,, go to koh panang and find paradise and peace. Koh panang is much more than the partys at had rin and ban kai. and it will never ever have an damed air port. my hart is lost in koh panang for ever.

@TheWeeaboo ,i have seen it on tv once,it looked nice....No no ,seriously i have been to KS and many other parts of Thailand too,i am returning again quite soon as i have a gf there.I have to say i think crime has got worse there,but i haven`t been to Samui lately so i am not sure about that now.I want to go back asap to see what`s changed since last visit.

There twice over the last 18 months and returning in January...the Heaven on earth (so far) but the amount of development that is going on is a concern....maybe Koh Chang is next
