@imissugrndmom It's is a type of alkali metal. That means when it reacts with water, it creates hydrogen gas & lithium oxide (an alkali substance).

In this case though, Amy is talking about lithium the drug & how it's used in medicine to treat bipolar. The main symptom is mood swings ie being happy one minute & depressed the next. She's saying she wants rid of it, but at the same time, bad feelings are what influences her music, so if she got rid of it, she wouldn't have the influence any more.
