I love this song, well I love every song that Heatwave created. They had a very unique sound that makes you feel so many emotions, mainly LOVE. This was beautiful footage and memories of the one and only HEATWAVE. I fell in love with Johnnie Wilder's voice the first time I heard it, around 5 years old. His loving memory will live forever through all of Heatwave's music. I am a female and coincidently my name is Johnnie also..Funny(:

I love Johnnie's voice too. So good to know he has so many fans. He was definitely a gem whose touring career was shortened by tragedy. Yet, he kept on singing. In fact he's still singing in the hearts of people who loved his tremondous gift of song.
Johnnie's voice lives on through the fans who loved him! I absolutely love Heatwave and pretty much listen to them everyday before going to sleep on my mp3. He'll never be forgotten!

I want this played at my funeral. All my efforts that fell short as well as the ones that came though. Just wanted to the best me not tolerated just loved. Never misunderstood...

All I can say is WOW. The remarkable, endearing voice of Johnnie Wilder fronting this classic from the 1978 "Central Heating" imprint is music to my ears. Thankfully, the tradgedy that felled Johnnie in early 1979 did not silence that remarkable voice, and we had 3 more LPs from the classic Heatwave era following his accident. This "Leavin For A Dream" is one of their true gems from that era and is a song that belongs to the ages. Thanks for sharing this classic with this generation and beyond.
