its funny i had just got don't telling my friends how much i would love to make a movie depicting the germans side of the story not to say that the allies side is not interesting but just to show what it was like and how easy it was for them to be swallowed by hitlers propaganda i mean look at us someone tells us that iraq has weapons of mass destruction and boom were knockin down there front door wene it all comes down to its propaganda lies so we do what those who are really in control want
@Vaiox Do you know of many war movies depicting the German's view? I am not sure if you do or don't but in any case, "Cross of Iron" (1977) is a pretty good one. There are a few more, most of which are foreign though (if you can tolerate subtitles). I don't have the names off hand, but if your interested in a few more, respond, let me know, & I will find a few more for ya, if you want'em. Like wise if you know of any good ones, foreign or not, do let me know also.
Sigh, another WW II film from the American perspective. Gets rather old. There's hardly been any films depicting the other side. I'd hate to think that it's because of the old "victors write history", but instead think people are just too sensitive about telling a story from that side. They were just as human as we were. they deserve a fair share.
Except it's not about the combat soldier and their human experience. It's about the "good side" of Germans. It's a great and interesting story nonetheless, however, it's nothing like the many films devoted to the "glorious" sacrifices the allies made.
This film is actually about the human perspective. It happens to follow the (true) story of an American soldier but shows true compassion for all humans. Watch the film, you will be surprised...
@DaedalusReturned At least we are not trying to deny things ever happened. Kind of like what the Germans are currently doing. Any reference to nazi's or the nazi flag etc is prohibited.
As for perspective.. As in all history it is written by the victor has been that way ever sense mankind started bashing each others heads in with clubs. We like to think we are more civilized then we were 100-1000 years ago but in reality we are not. The only thing that has changed is technology.

True. There is "Valkyrie" that shows a German perspective.
