  • Any decent mma fighter will tell you to jab exactly the way that this guy is saying you should so i don't understand why you guys are being such idiots saying "i'm and mma fighter and i'll kick you ass cause i'm hard" which from experience I've learnt that really your just wannabes and you probably don't even do mma and probably don't even know what mma is.

  • you do it way too fast for people to do it as you go along

  • Thanks man, this helped me alot :)

  • Heres some advice, how about shutting the fuck up!

  • first of all an mma fighter would beat the crap outa u hmmm...... you vs. andreson silva who whod win?

  • This is an awesome video, thanks, it really helped!:)

Just wondering, I'm a 15 year old girl and mine are 180 and they feel huge. D'you reckon 120 ones would be better since I'm a kid?

  • Nice video! I box too, have been doing it for a month now, I got the same handwraps as you, the 180 in ones, but when I first started I made a mistake and bought the 108 in ones, those sucked becasue they didn't cover the knuckles...anyway, good video, and funny story about the jab, I loled!! and subbed too!

  • Those things that filled your gloved and held both gloves together with a cord. What was it called?

  • Nice video! :D I've been in boxing for like a week now and the coaches said that they'll start charging us if they still have to put the hand wraps on us after a week O.O so yeah lol thanks for this video(x

  • this has been very helpful. Thanks! from UK

  • i start inbetween my ring finger and my middle finger first, anyone know the difference ? i like my way a bit better i dont know it just feels right

  • @zukarius Then you should do it that way :) My way isn't the best way, just the best way for me.

  • are those hand wraps elastic?

  • @TheAngelofenix Sort of, they have some stretch to them, but not that much.

  • at the end i was soo like wtf! nice vid though thanks

  • Thanks for posting - just recently started boxing.

  • haha nice rant, lol... i just started boxing yesterday...

  • You should do throwing knife videos with FPS Russia. You look like him. :D

  • ha ha ha the chicken wing jab, whao that guy had no idea what he was talking about you are completely right about the jab. Plus if you keep your elbow open like that its you leave your body severely exposed and it would take longer for you to block a strike, and if you do get hit your arm will be just dangling out there for a quick grab, you always have to have your elbow tucked in its a faster block and counter method. i practice hwa rang do and that is one of the key moves for punching.

  • okay i practice mma and even i know thats not how you throw a jab

  • @ClarkRandomness let me change that. EVERYONE who practices MMA knows how to throw a jab besides that guy

  • i got them

  • 180 inches

  • Nice vid. Lol, I know someone just like that who goes on (while other people are sparing!) about how boxing 'doesn't really work' and how 'if you cant hold someone on the ground they could could easily beat you' ... :L

  • Dude the reason people tend to give advice is that they see you from outside and easily see if you go against mechanics of body and technique of the sport you are doing. Try to pair up with ppl you respect (i.e have proven to know better than you) then it wont bother you when the advice

  • you look like fpsrussia

  • @alexmini123 Like always, have nice day

  • @shaykai Everyone knows Demitri would get pasted in the ring :o

  • mine are 3m

  • do any of u guys kno muay thai

  • nice vid thanks

and kmart i need to buy those

  • nice vid thanks

  • most hand wraps are 108 inch

  • ...doesnt matter where your elbow is, it aint gna make your arm any longer...

    also nice vid mate

  • Reyes! :)

  • i dont have the 180s i dont think any tips for using the smaller one until i can get the longer ones?

  • Good vid. That is a rant haha, ive only been boxing a few months but its common sense your opponent will see the elbow, plus your bodys open and you'd be knocked the fuck out. MMA is Just guys humping on the floor :P.

  • cheers very much bud....just started hitting my heavy bag and burst my knuckles, so i now i wear hand wraps hehe......p.s ur fookin nuts lol loveit.com :) x

  • damn, how long are they?!? will this help me stop getting blisters?

  • oh and also that guy giving you advice will probably realize his mistake once he takes a right uppercut to the body and cracks a rib

  • from personal experience I wouldnt recomend wrapping between the pinky and ring finger, although you should avoid thoes knuckles IF they hit something hard enough they can break your hand because they are at an angle, I also prefer the stretchy type of hand wraps, although like everything else its personal prefrence

  • cattle dick

  • @SuperCalebb haha, cattle dick? That is a pretty awesome insult, I am adding it to my vernacular!

  • asdfwe

  • he sat there for like 5 minutes losing steam

  • what brand of gloves do you use shaykai?

  • @angelcordero89 I believe they are Windy brand.

  • lol the ending of this video is is so funny :P

  • thanks dude, i just wrapped my hand it looks much better than the random wrapping i usually do

  • I totally get what you're saying about the advice. MMA and Boxing have been developed to suit what happens in the ring of the given sport. That dude may have done MMA but that doesn't make him better than anyone else. Well said man.

Thanks for the instructions, I've had my wraps for over a year now and I've never known how to put it on properly xD

  • good vid man thanx

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! I just took my first class yesterday and thanks to you I learned how to wrap my hands. THANK YOU!

  • i only do my wrist and knuckles, seen people up at my boxing club doing the webbings of there fingers to but didnt know how it was done. Felt like a bit of a twat asking them how to do it as ive been there 4 like 2 years now so thanks 4 making this vid :D

  • that's a weird way of wraping i only do my wrist and knuckles

  • I just started boxing and i need these wraps, my knuckles are all swollen. Thanks for this advice i see this pair you have for only like £5 online so i will pick up a pair

  • yeh but if u r 20 and mature then ur just growing up 2 fast :) and i kno its l8 but owell

  • Are hand wraps reusable?

  • I got a question are those wraps 108 inches or diffrent cuz i got 108 inches

  • lmao! BEST "HOW TO" VIDEO EVER!!!!!!

  • MMA is so much better than boxing

i think an mma fighter can beat a boxer in about 3 seconds :D

    BAS RUTTEn FTW

  • can u put the wrap on then put mma glove over it???

  • @omeedh yeah i do it all the time. Long as your hands don't feel uncomfortable.

  • @omeedh you always can

  • cool beans

  • I'm a little confused...should you always wear hand wraps when hitting against a heavy bag or is a good pair of boxing gloves enough?

  • @bloggert You don't have to wear wraps when hitting the heavy bag, at least at first. When you start getting better you will start hitting harder and soon you won't want to hit the bag without wraps and gloves.

  • @bloggert get a pair of 180's and i mean 180's, nothing shorter, and a pair of 16oz gloves, everlast make good gloves. if you can find heavier gloves like 18's, 20's or 24's, i would suggest those. don't buy 8's 10's or 14's, get atleast 16 so your hand feels really light when you take them off.

  • slow motion pls. xD

  • Comment removed

  • ya i wraped my hands the way i usualy do for boxing , but my nuckles are brusied so ya lawls :P

  • cool, I didn't know how to do that

  • Great Vid and guess what we saw everything

  • hey thanks man, been amateur boxing for a while now and never knew how to wrap my hands properly.. this vid has solved my problem! lol thanks again

  • THNX FOR ADVISE ON HAND WRAPS COZ I AM GETTIN SOME SOON BUT UR WRONG BOUT JABBING, NOW I AGREE ABOUT THE ELBOW TUCKIN IN BUT U AINT TWISTING UR WRIST AT ALL U MIGHT AS WELL DO WING CHUN IF U AINT GONNA DO PROPER BOXING PUNCHES WER U HAVE TO TWIST UR HAND STRAIGHT ON THE PUNCH

  • @MrTurkishkickboxer I think your caps lock button is stuck.

  • @shaykai no disrespect man i aint tryna do not harm or noting u get me but just like u givin advise on dis video iam doin the same by replyin wat i think of ur advise on jabbing take it like a man or dont.

  • @MrTurkishkickboxer We have two different schools of thoughts regarding the jab. I prefer the vertical "chinese" punch as oppose to the punch with a twist to make it horizontal at the end (the 'japanese' karate style punch). There are a few reasons I do this that work for me, but in the end I don't think the horizontal punch is any better or worse than the vertical one. The cool thing is we both agree about not flaring out the elbow when you strike.

  • @MrTurkishkickboxer dude he doesnt say he twists his wrists he says he twists his hips into a jab.

  • @MrTurkishkickboxer dude he doesnt say he twists his wrists he says he twists his hips into a jab.

  • @MrTurkishkickboxer actually your suppose to twist your wrist when your throwing a jab.

  • Can't do this, mine are shorter :(

  • im doing kick boxing but thanks any ways i needed this thank you very much

  • thank you!

  • thank you!

  • heaps love this video :D

    thanks heaps gorgeous...

every time i try wrap mine they look a little different..

think im just a bit strange =P but thats okay, ill figgure it out

thanks heaps for making such a clear video :)

  • @Meegaanlovesyou Glad you liked the video :)

  • boxing or kickboxing?

  • i came to learn about how to put on wraps, i stay for the guitar moves

  • hu i got a question im berly biggin and im 13 so i relly dont now jabbin is but nice video hellped me a lot thanks

  • How long are your hand wraps friend?

  • @TheSkyneth 180cm

  • thanx mate

  • WOW!! any mma fighter can kick your ass fagget

  • @happyiworldwide wow if you're really 20 years old and still this immature I feel sorry for you :)

  • lol this was your 69th video

  • man awesome tutorials , learned to throw knifes , but y dont like to fight with those bug gloves , only raps or mma grapple gloves . hate when y have to put them on , y feel like popeyeX(

    nice tut:D

  • You sir are awesome

  • bro i have nothing against you and i think that ur tutorial on how to put hand wraps was pretty good and ur comment on the jab was right but i didnt like the comment on mma look no offense but im an mma fighter and i fought 2 boxing guys so far in the octogone the fights finished both by k.o. so please dont say that mma fighters dont know how to do boxing !! nice video by the way very helpful for begginers

  • @leduc322 Hey Leduc, it's funny I'm actually an MMA fighter too. I started with Jiu Jitsu before I started boxing, and I've taken quite a bit of Krav Maga (as well as a handful of japanese karate styles). The class I was in was actually a boxing class, and in general I feel like a lot of MMA fighters neglect the science of boxing unless they really focus on it. Nothing against MMA fighters because I do MMA as well.

  • 8:30 "time to wrap it up" oh man serious pun opportunity missed there couldn't believe it. Nice video tho, easy to watch and informative

  • lol, cool video! i don't got to classes but i have 2 punching bags hanging from rafters in my garage, one 100 pounder and the other is like 70 or 75 kilos but i don't know how much that is. like 160 lbs i think? and i have a speed bag also. i punch and kick my bags every day for like an hour, some times 2 hours, i love them! i punch and kick so hard. i used to think i knew how to punch before my bags, psshh, yeah right. i'm real good at combos. basically, i tought my self how to box somewhat.

  • hahah, you're pretty funny for a boxer :D

  • i dont know if i did it wrong but i didnt feel like thier was enough protection around the nuckles

  • @henryrbk The purpose of handwraps isn't to protect your knuckles, that is what gloves are for (you wear handwraps UNDER your gloves). The reason you wrap your hands is to tightly pull the small bones in your hands together that way they don't break as easily. When hitting a heavy bag you should wear handwraps and bag gloves at the very least if not full boxing gloves.

  • @shaykai i only use wraps, i don't have gloves, but i've never hurt my hands or wrists for a while now. i used to all the time when i started. but i don't think i hurt myself anymore because i know how to punch correctly. i used to punch way different when i started. in fact, now i can punch my bags bare fisted full force without hurting myself because i know how to punch correctly. in my opinion, which is only a opinion, i don't try and force my opinion on nobody, is that if you hurt your cont

  • @shaykai hand punching, it's not so much you didn't wrap your hand or wore protection as much as it is you punched wrong or did something wrong while punching.

  • thumb should be wrapped at the start of wrapping and at the end :) well like you said some people dont doing i do it just at the start and when iam ending :) good video

  • Thanks for the vid, very helpful for this novice.Cheers

  • hahaha great vid very helpfull and such a funny vid haha

  • This really helped thank you very much.

  • Not bad dude....good video man...

  • lol u noob downt know everything about balisongs..or boxing..just stop making video PLZ!! fucking noob

  • your jab isn't all that either mr lol. you should be protecting your chin shoulder as you jab

  • I was entirely confused, and you made it so much easier.

    Thanks :)

  • Thank you very much...

I'm a rookie, and some friends told me that handwraps can help me a lot... and it does! I just can't put them on my hands by myself, but now I CAN!!!

I have small hands so basically 120' are enough for me... ^^

anyway thank you, because of this i didn't end up strangled my self trying to wrap my hands.... ^^

sorry for the bad english too...

  • We have the same wraps and i do it the same way!

  • Comment removed

  • man i like ur guitars :)

  • Well done sir. Wrapping your own hands takes a lot of practice. Dont give up, work at it every day. You'll be glad when you dont shatter the small bones in your hand hitting the bag.

  • lol soooooo ????????????? music lol

  • Im mexico we use the decimal metric sistem; therefore the mexican style bandages length is measured in centimeters.

    Great video though.

    Saludos desde Mexico

  • Just a couple questions. When you wrap like that, doesn't all the fabric accumulate to the palm?

and I kinda jacked up my wrist last time when I was boxing, and I'm not sure if i'm wrapping my wrists correctly. are you wrapping the same exact place on the wrist, or are you spreading it out a bit but having the wraps overlap?

  • @aznricecannon Wrapping your wrists won't prevent all damage if you aren't punching straight, but they will help a bit. Yes there is fabric that ends up in the palm (there are different ways to wrap that prevent this) but I don't think that's a bad thing. It lets you grip onto something when you punch which makes a harder fist. It's the same concept of brass knuckles or holding a roll of quarters when you are in a street fight.

  • "i wear them even when im shadow boxing..cuz yu look cooler i think" haha very true...and good video man

  • Thank you for posting this video its great help

  • great vid. that guy who doesn't know how to throw a jab, sucks dikc. lmao

  • thatt type of jab that one guy did was a muay thai jab, well at least it appearded too be. muay thai and boxing positions are very different

soo im just saying because you said hes in mma

    and im also in mma

  • Very helpful video. I am just starting to get into boxing and needed help with these things. Thank you so much. Great help!

  • @01valentina01 No problem, glad you liked the vid :)

  • Great vid mate, thanks for the good advice. I've been boxing a few months and am just starting to spar. Are gel gloves good enough, instead of wraps. Some guy at our gym never washes his wraps, and he's a freakin' health hazard!

  • @cardensdriving I'm not sure if the Gel wraps are good, I've never used them (but I've seen them around). I guess try em out and see how it goes. Haha, as for washing the wraps my friend was that was as well, I remember once he told me he had never washed his handwraps and we had been sparring together for years.

  • @shaykai Cheers for the reply pal. I've bought wraps today, and following your advice felt a lot less stress on my hands and wrists, so I'll stick with 'em.

Re; the guy at our place who never washes his wraps is a great guy, and a pretty decent boxer too. I borrowed his gloves once, man I should have had a Tetanus before putting them on! All the best.

  • thanks for the vid man. just got my first set of wraps, n i don't really know how to do them up yet :3 and that was some pretty epic guitar at the end ;)

  • lmfao you laugh at your own jokes.... i do to to be fair.. but still lol

  • just use thin bag gloves

  • is it safe to train on a heavy bag with just hand wraps or do i have to also use bag gloves? what if i double wrapped each hand?

  • @kumquatsta You don't have to use bag gloves if you don't want. Every now and then I will hit the bag with just handwraps, but when I do I don't hit full force. I've done it full force before and my hands just hurt a lot the next day. I do however practice open hand palm strikes on the bag full force without any handwraps. I figure if I am going to hit someone on the street it will be a palm strike so I don't break my knuckles.

  • Great tips
