If they were Americans the title would be "Dumbass Firefighters Ruin Truck" and the description would rant about how stupid and poorly trained the firefighters were, and what a waste of tax money it was.
Americans treat their police and firemen like shit and feel glorified if they thank them once in their lifetime.
let see an american fire truck do this... with all the laws and such they'd probably never make it out the driveway due to "too much rain" or some other BS
of emergency field then i hope you never let a piece of equipment come between saving a life, because if you do you can get the f out of that line of work because if i need someone to help me i need someone to help me, period
and he made a call ,and may have saved a life whats so unprofessional about that? i dont see people calling me and other members of our military that? and complain how
much a MRAP cost in iraq , but i damn well know people who have driven them into things to stop people from getting killed, and trashing the mrap, if any of you REALLY work in any kind
ok so they made a bad call but made it out, and carried on with the day, we all act like we follow the rules every single time, i know a couple times if i had not "been professional " all the time in iraq i would not be here to type this, he could have been told to do it, who knows?
I'm really surprised the truck didn't stall a few metres into the water without a snorkle. Apparently the engine was severely damaged and requires a total rebuild. I've also heard driver has been stood down from active service. Research is a volunteer brigade.
@infamousmonster why? the snorkel you see @0:57 between the cab and rear of the truck was well above water!! diesels will run under water as they do not need an ignition source "thats why they were popular in submarines", you are the moron!!!
@infamousmonster get your facts straight dickhead.. the truck never stalled on the 12 hours they were out on call that day and the truck was repaired for minor interior water damage...stupid cunt
@wallzac13 Did you read the article? The truck eventually stalled, and they had to call for help themselves... the truck itself is going to the junkyard.
Again, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that an automobile wasn't meant to submerge itself roof deep in flood water.
@infamousmonster Why the hell do you think it has a snorkel on it? You have a very weird idea of what roof deep is. I happen to be in the CFA, I got the real story mate. Where did you read the article?
If you where in trouble would you like the excuse 'we didnt want to get the truck wet'? yes it will need a clean out and a few things will be replaced but the CFA's motto is 'To protect lives and property'. The driver is doing what he has been trained to do: to protect lives and property.
@wallzac13 Obviously your new to the CFA mate, the first thing comes first is the safety of your crew, going through that water was unesseary and reckless. It was a research tanker for christ sake, and he put 3 other men in danger. What would of happen if it turned out to be 13ft? The guys on the back fucking dead, you think you can swim in turnout gear and helmet, no you cant.
@2004PontiacGTO The driver and crew all said that he didnt deliberately drive through the water. The 2.25 and 4.25 tankers dont have a great deal of power, if he had of stopped he would have stalled the truck and then they all would have been stuffed. wouldnt you think that if he had of known the the flood was 2 m deep he would have chosen another route? And i'm not new, CFA's beliefs and core values where being drummed in ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Are you a firie?
@wallzac13 how could that not be deliberate! hahah apparently there was a side route a few hundred metres up the road that wasnt flooded and could have easily been taken. very lucky guys.
our fire company buys their own trucks, no we dont have many but they work and they get the job done, if we had a truck like this one....hurricane season would be easier lol
who pays for the firetruck?? the people....why would the fire department care if their vehicle may have drowned? It's not theirs....it's the peoples. The people would have to pay for another truck if this truck in the video drowned.
@myg0tBUTTPLUG They are probably local volunteers which means they are part of "the people" butt plug. That means they also pay taxes to support fire vehicles.
I understand your point but anyone with brain should now not to drive in on a flooded road no matter how deep the water is for the simple fact that you don't know what condition the road is under the water. Just because the might be getting paid or not getting like some people like myself due does not mean that we are not professional. We are all professional in the eyes of the public all the time!
Really what a bunch of idiots. These young guys morons. Anyone that has any type of brain knows not to do this. I really hate to see other firefighters doing stupid things like this!
@Staub1332 They werent professional firefighters, but amateurs risking their lives to help other people. They obviously didnt expect that there would be so much water, but they couldnt really stop once they got in there. I dont think anyone would do stuff like this on purpose..

The air intake is clearly mounted behind the cab passside at roof line...

@GREENVK Figured. I had a car that got damaged from a flash flood, but there was some serious internal damage.
That fire truck is completely and utterly submerged. What a moron. He should've rerouted or called in for a helicopter.
