  • Chernobeyl killed my father, 2 of my aunties, my uncle and hundreds of people in the North West of England, since the raditaion could came over the North West of England

  • @Maltray lol

  • For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

    1 Thessalonians 5:3

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may HAVE LIFE, and HAVE IT TO THE FULL.~JESUS~ written in John 10:10

I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior. Isaiah 43:11

Do I hear a stirring of the bees or do some of them yet hear TRUTH? Seek Jesus while there's time

  • i remember watching tht!

  • I look forward to the day when Scotland can tell England to get its nuclear weapons out of the clyde. keep em in the fucking Thames if you want them, English bastards

  • @suspectVandal

The nukes are BRITISH not English. And we'd be happy to keep the nukes south of the border if you could keep all your fellow scots bigots north of it.

We have enough racists so we dont need to import the C grade stuff....

  • Chernobyl killed 200,000 people. We do not need nuclear energy in the country. We have plenty of hydro electricity potential that is unused. Ireland and New Zealand do not not need the m so why do we. New Zealand has a lower carbon foot print than the UK because it uses hydro not nuclear. Take your fantasy nuclear energy logic away to some other naive mugs.

  • No, there were 56 direct deaths and 4000 died of cancer after radiation exposure.

  • No you have lied to. Greenpeace have reported over a quarter of a million have died as a result of Chernobyl. How can you trust the nuclear lobby on these issues when they have a financial interest in reporting low figures. Has the banks issue not taught you that companies lie to make profits. You cannot claim only 56 people died and then say 4000 people died too in the next breath. This is ludicrous. Who are you fooling?

  • 1) I said that 56 people died in the accident and 4000 died of radiation-related cancer. Two different things.

I quote from United Nuclear - "28 people died... from radiation or thermal burns, 19 have subsequently died, and there have been around nine deaths from thyroid cancer... total 56 fatalities as of 2004.

    # An authoritative UN report in 2000 concluded that there is no scientific evidence of any significant radiation-related health effects to most people exposed. " Greenpeace overcounted

  • The UN report was a consensus report corrupted by with representatives by nuclear lobbyists, and nuclear groups. It means nothing. The Ukranian government themselves have said 2.5 million people have had negative health affects. Not just greenpeace.

I ask you to be more cynical of the nuclear industry and their lobby groups. They try the pitiful claim 56 people died, and in the next breath say another 4000 died as if they do not count. How can you fall for such inconsistent liars.

  • drove past there a million time and they were a great land mark, pitty hey

  • Its so weird when you look into the skyline and you dont see them lol.

  • St. Joseph's College in Dumfries would be a good next choice, preferably with all the cretinous past-pupil and teachers association contained within said bloodbath.

  • great vid, another scottish implosion this sunday at 6am at millarston paisley

  • Now I have no idea when I'm near home lol... I live in Lockerbie and when I was on the train I used to see them... but now they are gone its like where am i.. hehe... they were awesome!!!

  • Why would you want them to stay there and decay, its useless and a complete eyesore, next task, nuke liverpool

  • LMAO, GOOD IDEA

  • LOLOLOLOL NO THO

  • Good idea - to get rid of the city of culture of capitalism '08!

I served an apprenticeship at Chapelcross and left the town (best thing I EVER did) and the narrow minded population years ago, and funnily enough landed in Liverpool, and I agree with you, glazing this place would also be an improvement.

  • its amazing how long it takes to build them but takes seconds do destroy them. whats going to replace them?

  • nothing.... its an old poewr station wich will all go :(

  • wow

  • that was cool

  • *yawn*

  • I live near there! Used to pass these towers in the car all the time. Such a shame to see them go really...they could have turned them into flats or something, lol!

  • that's a good idea, or just left to decay, I hate it when old stuff is destroyed, I bet they were beautiful

  • that was sweet!

  • wow man that was so perfectly executed, those guys are good

    only joking!

  • i feel sleepy

  • sad gits, this is utterly boring get a life

  • C MON DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY

  • I love how the one on the right appears to shrink perfectly. These demolitions are a feat of engineering that surpasses the original construction!

  • No planes hit these towers! It's a conspiracy, they were brought down by... CONTROLLED DEMOLITION! Oh god the goverment is TRYING to MURDER ME, argh-

  • ha ha..very good...!

  • Great video did you say it was in scotland if so were abouts was it?(It reminded me of the wtc (9/11) coming down) keep on posting and feel free to visit my page and rate my videos ..peace love & light to all humans

  • the towers were were in annan, a small town on the borders of Scotland and England. They were cooling towers at a nuclear power plant

  • 300ft!!!! I could base jump of that!

  • I was gonna go see that cos i live in carlisle but was working that day :( did they have to close the local roads around it cos of the smoke/debre?

  • wow the building has gone its mindbottling

  • fake...

    lol only kidding...it's awesome

  • i likes the destruction nearly as much as ur western litrature books and the dictionary of words in english and that u know boom and ur hands are alight cos u were to close the eplotion and have to visit the broken mans shop i tink its call the hopsitalio xxx

  • Kool vid! I don't get why some nuclear power stations have cooling towers and some don't. Why?? Anyone know?

  • All power stations need a supply of cooling water. If it's taken from the sea its usually pumped back into the sea. If it's taken from a river, as at Chapelcross, it has to be cooled before being returned to the environment to minimise the impact on the river.

  • and thats why the steam comes out of a cooling tower right?

  • In a nutshell - yes.

  • thats how they collapsed world trade centre 1 and 2

  • with steam?

  • shaboy. . .i dont even have a mirror. . .

  • I knew that some idiot would use the word "awesome".

  • Lol you should have the tag line GREENPEACE come up just for kicks

  • demoilition

  • Awesome!

  • thats like my arse the morning after a real ale beer drinking session

  • I won't stand down-wind from you then! He He!

  • this is what they should do to fifa governing body and the racist fans.

  • When you near 70, the feeling is one you can appreciate, especially in the knees!

  • woo, thats great, bricks and stuff falling, go to a building site for it everyday...

  • I'd like to do that to the Greenpeace offices...

  • Wahey! I was there, I got up early to go and see this :)

I live in a small town near Annan.

  • reminds me of twin towers

  • hey if you physically rewind it, then they come bak 2gether!!!!!!1 that is even cooler!!!!!!!

  • lmao yesss ...genius

  • I missed that cos I fell into a ditch!

  • lmao @ vincexnoir!!

  • my birthdays on the 20th of may,,, Demolition is seriously cool my neighbor works as one he always comes home with videos of what building he pulled down and shit...

  • wow!

  • wow cool

  • Keep Scotland nuclear free!

  • exactlly

    cool vid

  • Wow, looks like the Twin Towers

  • Excellent vid!

Years back, I saw the two cooling towers in Wigan get blown up (or down...) but unfirtunately, and I've got that on a 'nostlgia' vid. that was sold at the time - this one reminds moe of it, and is great to see.

    Thanks for sharing.

    :)

    Neil.

  • i love how they seem to melt

  • good stuff! :D

  • I was there. Got it on camera. The funniest thing is rewinding and you can see them spring back up XD.

  • where is...was chaplecross?? i can remember when rugerly A was demlished, but only just.

  • I didnt know this already happened! I was told it wasn't going to happen for years yet! Totally should have shot it from side on, haha!

  • haha!!! nice one \\// below lol

  • Tune in next week to watch em do us all a favour and demolish House of Commons. Preferably when the scumbags ar all inside it.

  • haha. i second that idea

  • i lived right next to the towers

  • Wanted to see and film this but had no transport to do it. Thanks for posting

  • your welcome :)

  • Awesome!

  • Yeah I saw something almost the same on the tv in september 2001.

  • did the same plane that hit the pentagon bring these down. If you look clearly you can see the plane hit all four towers. if you cant see it then your against us ,america, the war on weather and God. May you be forced to watch al gores film for ever

  • No you cant. Your sick...

  • listen neebor, if your still thinking a plane hit the pentagon then i suggest you look again. A plane does not hit a wall, completely disappear and leave the top of the wall intact. Nor does it make a hole like a cruise missile hit it. Look at the lockerbie plane crash and look at the pentagon and then tell me it was a plane.I wish it were some arab nutters but alas it looks like a false flag job.

  • haha! i couldn't see a plane there.. and i'm yet to see one hit the pentagon!

  • it was not a plane it was superman

  • I`m laughing my ass off here .

  • THEY USE "SHAPE CHARGES", COOL VID.

  • ZOMG! Controlled demolitions! Fire doesn't melt steel! Teh governments did it!!!1!!

    Vote Ron Paul 2008!

  • WTF ARE YOU ON DUDE? SHUT UP!

  • HUH thet is my 42nd Birthday, Thank ya Have ah good day, Your friend Dawn Manees Grzesik : }

  • nice

  • Crazy to destroy a nuclear plant, when nuclear power generation produces no CO2 emissions.

Why didn't they upgrade the reactor for more efficiency and safety, and keep the cooling towers?

  • InstantMix you sound like one of the Annan kids hinging around the High street with a can in hand and no where to go.A landmark is Wallaces monument in Stirling on a tower in Oban , Paris for ex .Not an out dated station which was originally for making plutonium and had two accidents 67' & 2001.

  • Hey that looked just like WTC7!

  • 911 all over again, lol

  • my papa helped build them and everytime i went to annan i saw them also everytime i came back from the south that would be th sign to know i was near home i could see them from my bed out the window and i have grew up with them always being there. i went to hadrians wall and you can see them from there anaw

  • I will miss them, but think it's amazon that people sayed on the day "i am going to see them blow chapelcross up" when really they are only imploding the 4 towers. It just shows you what the towers mean and that in away chapelcross is gone, i will remember them on how they looked over the salway 'protecting' us.

  • I would like to add that the explosives didn't work 100% and that the 1st tower is still standing the full height of the reacter buldings (which is pretty tall), however it was the famous tower with the "belly".

  • very true about the belly, the story about the belly because it was the 1st tower to be built and the contractors who built it where kicked of site because it was not built to spec.they lay the explosives according to the spec maybe hoping number 1 would come down no problem i think.a think we should save the one that survive!lol

  • Made all our family in New Zealand and me feel a bit sad, after 34 years working there and seeing the land mark coming home from a holiday well it was an era The McDougalls had a cake with four candles and blew them out!

  • wow thats very thoughtful

  • That's pretty quick. Only just over 24 hours ago and there's about 40 videos on YouTube.

  • cool video,

  • ill miss towers i work away allot and there the last thing u see wne you leve and the first thing u see wen your coming home

  • It's a shame that a lil bit or our local identity has just disappeared!! Gonna have to find a new "we're nearly in england" game for the kids to play while travelling in the car!!

  • Great video, amazing how they look like 'breathing' out the dust as they fall.

  • wow nice quality

  • The towers are gone now, but my fond memories of working at CX will live forever. Thanks Youtube for letting me be there. JJ 1980-86. Stuck in Chicago USA, when i should have been there to see it for myself.

  • Aye, that was something to see, eh?

    Nice capture!

  • test

  • It's really amazing to see how much people miss these big grey blobs on the landscape! I remember as a kid I would spend summers down at my Granny and Papa's caravan in Southerness, you could see them across the Firth, and you would know from that roughly where England began. Also something to be looked at when driving down to Carlisle. I'll miss 'em!

  • Watched them coming down from Carsethorn, the village I grew up in across the solway Not much to see really as it was quite misty, but it was a part of the landscape and an event that we don't get the chance to see in this area

  • We all seem to feel the same way, those who don't belong to the area thought they were a blot on our landscape, to those call the region home they were a marker to say that our journey was almost over and we were close to our front doors.

  • Dude iv grown up with these for 17 years now they were like a piece of my past you cud see them everywer n now ther gone :( Shame

    gona miss em

  • I Took A Video But It Wasn't Really Good.

It's A Shame They've Gone. They Sort Of Welcomed You To Annan...

But At Least They Went Out With A Bang, LOL! <3

  • reminds of 911, but this is a controlled demolition and 911 wasn't - hahahahaha!!!

  • i saw tht they were all gone in a poof of smoke

  • I can tell my grand kids I was there watching a bit of history disappearing

  • well ya no iw was there 2day nd i fot it was shit!there wasnt a bang or fire or anything nd no warning i wudnt of known they were gone if the lady beside me didnt say theres the first one lol!th nly fing il miss is wen im cumin hme frm holiday il wont no wen am near annan cse i cnt see chapelcross!atleast ya cn tell ya grankids ya saw them being bown up lol !xxxx

  • I watched the towers being demolished from skew bridge, it was one of the saddest days of my life, THE REGION'S SKYLINE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!! i cant believe there gone, its like part of annan has died.

  • how will i know where i am nw:(

  • The Chapelcross Cooling Towers were special to me as they were the things that i saw when i knew i was going home

  • went to see it the day. think its a shame there gone!! especially when there spending 2 million on some stupid landmark at gretna when they just blew one up the day costing 3 million!!

P.S windmills are only 27% efficent so this is why the EU are now using biofuel plants instead!!

  • the nuke plants are only 18% efficient
