@STFC010 It is used a lot more for football these days than cricket. The name "Melbourne Cricket Ground" came about before Australian Rules was invented by the Melbourne Cricket Club in 1858. Today there are 4 AFL teams that use the ground as their home ground - Melbourne since 1858, Richmond since the 60s, Hawthorn and Collingwood since the 1990s, and the MCG is one of 2 main AFL stadiums in Melbourne since the suburban grounds were decomissioned. So it's def more for footy than cricket
