THanks so much for posting this vid for us to see - Michael J. Fox was always my favorite actor - "Secret of My Success" is my all-time favorite movie and "Family Ties" is my favorite t.v. show. After Fox announced he had Parkinson's, it was only a few years later that I found out my mother had it, too - she died September 23, 2008 - she taught me so much about life - and she gave me so much strength, determination, courage, and hope in life - just by watching her embrace and endure Parkinson's
The first 20 minutes or so, there was a lump in my throat, and tears were slowly coming down my face one by one... to see what this disease is doing to this nice actor I've known and enjoyed for so many years. And his endless shaking was hard to watch. But as the interview went on, I was surprised at how I became accustomed to it, and could look past the disease. It's an ongoing hurdle he cannot jump, but he's still the same person. I hope they find a cure in his lifetime. God bless him.

I care because I grew up watching him. He was one of the background characters of my childhood in terms of pop culture. I don't know anyone personally in my own life with Parkinson's. But YES, if I did, I'd feel the exact same way, after having not seen them for a few years and all of a sudden there they were - riddled with the effects of Parkinson's.

He didn't twitch like this in Scrubs, due to several reasons. Scrubs is a tv show that they can edit. He can do different things such as stand a certain way, or hold something that keeps his twitching down. Also he has to take medicine; then give it time to work. Scrubs also was filmed a while back & his condition has progressed over the years. Both of my grandmothers died from this disease, I wish that everyone w/this disease will be cured soon. Mike was always an inspiration to me. I grew up watching "Back to the future." That movie was like a dream to me. One justs looks at him and there is an obvious spark. My ex boss from work has this awful disease and every day is a challenge for him.Just simple things that we take for granted are so, so difficult like sleeping and getting dressed.He has recently had the brain implant, and although life is very tough at the moment due to the balance act that they need to do between medication and the implant stimulation, he is hopeful of a good outcome and I hope that he gets back his life from this awful affliction.Take care mike, and keep fighting :-)
There's a surgery that can be performed on people that suffer from Parkinson disease, but it's self-volunteraly, cause it's dangerous, but most people that've gone through with it, never had a problem for the rest of their lives. The surgery is performed while you're awake and they stripe you to the bed in order for you to stay still. There's only one hospital/or doctor that performes the surgery from what I remember in UK I think.
But that guy... he's awesome and will continue to be.
The thing that I really love about Fox, is that he doesn't bull shit. He's being a straight shooter from the start. Look at his eyes, though the sound delay is sad and is clearly a result of CharlieRose's upload, or whatever. Fox is the real deal!

Plus, Bush just withheld government spending for embryonic stem cell research. Private investors and research companies can do all the privately funded research they want. Some people, a lot of people, don't want their tax money spent on research they morally disagree with and which has shown little or no promise.
Bush's ban and other people's protests are only about embryonic stem cells, because you have to terminate an embryo (which they see as unborn life) to harvest the cells. From what I understand there's little to no progress made with embryonic stem cells. Any actual progress that has been made is with umbilical cord or adult stem cells. Not stem cells from embryos.

My ex boss from work has this awful disease and every day is a challenge for him.Just simple things that we take for granted are so, so difficult like sleeping and getting dressed.He has recently had the brain implant, and although life is very tough at the moment due to the balance act that they need to do between medication and the implant stimulation, he is hopeful of a good outcome and I hope that he gets back his life from this awful affliction.Take care mike, and keep fighting :-)

There's a surgery that can be performed on people that suffer from Parkinson disease, but it's self-volunteraly, cause it's dangerous, but most people that've gone through with it, never had a problem for the rest of their lives. The surgery is performed while you're awake and they stripe you to the bed in order for you to stay still. There's only one hospital/or doctor that performes the surgery from what I remember in UK I think.
But that guy... he's awesome and will continue to be.

The thing that I really love about Fox, is that he doesn't bull shit. He's being a straight shooter from the start. Look at his eyes, though the sound delay is sad and is clearly a result of CharlieRose's upload, or whatever. Fox is the real deal!

If you really listen to what he is saying. You can really learn a lot about him. He's not selfish. He's brilliantly smart. He's Human. He's learned that celebrityism isn't everything. I don't want to sound bad in saying this, but, perhaps he had to have parkinsons in order to help and educate millions of people. He had fortune and fame, but maybe, this was his real purpose in life....To educate, and save/Cure millions in the future. ...Hence, Back to the Future. We all love M.J.Fox!

Plus, Bush just withheld government spending for embryonic stem cell research. Private investors and research companies can do all the privately funded research they want. Some people, a lot of people, don't want their tax money spent on research they morally disagree with and which has shown little or no promise.

Bush's ban and other people's protests are only about embryonic stem cells, because you have to terminate an embryo (which they see as unborn life) to harvest the cells. From what I understand there's little to no progress made with embryonic stem cells. Any actual progress that has been made is with umbilical cord or adult stem cells. Not stem cells from embryos.
