Great Sound, now playing a Roland VA-7.

That thing is getting old so looking for a replacement...

I Like Yamaha, but Roland seems to have more "power" in the style's.

The four different section's in the Style's don't build up that good as Roland does.

But the voice's of the Yamaha and the cohesiveness with the Style is superb!

For the experienced keyboard players it would be best to got both! ;-)

Too pricey! I like how the producer creates a massive hype around "Super Articulation" and all these fancy technologies. It's not like dynamic voices on a keyboard are a new thing. You can get them on a much cheaper price tag.

I found both Tyros 3 and Martin Harris equally mind boggling. The former for its music-related algorithms and technologies behind it, and the latter for Martin's amazing musicality. I wonder how many people besides Martin himself, Tyros 3's chief developer according to Yamaha's blog, would do justice to this product.

@Pieperson277 , the Yamaha is a real instrument where you can sit and compose music from start to end without battling with PC problems. I know because I own 3 Eastwest libraries (Goliath, etc), they sound great, but all in all, I will never write music with that stuff again, I will only use to do the finished product once I finished writing the music on the Yamaha. Then I export the midi file and replace the sounds. With Cubase etc I get very little done, it's so fucking overwhelming.

@Pieperson277 , but I agree that this Yamaha is too pricey, new. Don't make the mistake to think that with a laptop and some software you will do more than a dedicated keyboard workstation. I have tried to do this for years, never succeeded.

Currently I just am so happy, because I just shut off this PC shit and sit on my PSR-3000 and am totally immersed in the music composition process. I feel liberated. Yes, the sounds are not like Goliath, but they are cute and good enough for composition.

hahahaha I can't believe it...!!! how can people say Oasys is overrated??? Yamaha Tyros 3 IS NOT A SYNTH, IT?S JUST A VERY EXPENSIVE KEYBOARD... An Oasys have in it's HDD (80GB, btw) tons of filters, parameters, vector synthesys, second generation KARMA technology... You must be a pro to know what OASYS can do for you...

In my Opinion its THE Best Keyboard EVER Made! And surprisingly i was at a Store, tested the Tyros 3 and also a Korg Oasys 88. Its overrated as Hell! First it is very Complicated and secondly, the Tyros has a MUCH better Sound! And you must recognize that the Oasys is about 10.000!!!!!! Dollar, the Tyros +-3.500 and its getting Cheaper Guys, to the End of this Year it is maybe just only 2.000 Dollar or something! You can have SOOO much Fun with this Thing, youlle never Expected that!!!!!!

I have the tyros 2, I'm wouldn't be able to be a professional before reaching my grave, but the tyros help amateurs like me sound a bit better and it gives me at least a lot of satisfaction.

And everyone around me is satisfied as well.....as long as I keep my headphones on.

After 1 year of lessons and 5 years of playing 35 years ago, I now have a Tyros and I want to start all over again, unfortunately I have nerve damage on my hands (carpal and some other stuff), when i play with one finger, the timing is perfect, when I play with the whole hand there are delays and anticipations from one finger to the other, it's getting slightly better after a month of practice at 1 hr a day, but with some good styles, Tyros covers my mistakes.

the ensoniq EPS had articulation buttons 24 years ago. they affected the attack and release of notes, including glissandos. nice to see yamaha has decided to bring that back.

Rubbish. I had a KORG PA 2X PRO and though it's a good keyboard it's not in the same range as the Ty3 for range and sound and flexibilty. I've been really thrilled now I've had the Ty3 for a bit and wouldn't go back to the Korg PA 2XPro for gigging. The 3M 88-key looks interesting. But you get what you pay for. Both Korgs are about £1,000 cheaper than the Ty3

why is it so called pro demo guys use the pitch bend inappropriately and far too often?

It's not a pitch bend. It's a SuperArticulation "art" button based on exactly how modulation is done on Irish bagpipes (uilleann pipes). If you notice, he's not touching the pitch-bend wheel but flicking one of the two square buttons on the far left.

Yamaha PSR S900 and Tyros 3, now there's a tough choice. I bought the PSR S900 and love it! I am now upgrading to the Tyros 3, and I'm excited to do so. Sound is in the "ear" of the beholder- but Yamaha gets it 'right' on so many sounds..and wait for it..it's MUCH simpler to use than "real" synth boards, and that's why they are mad successful with their keyboard series. Most of us are playing for enjoyment- you'll ENJOY the S900/Tyros3 fwiw

I just made it really fast with tyros 1 few years ago when one of my students gave it to me for 15 days for a try. Actually I did an entire album demo for a jazz 5tet (bass, perc,drums,soprano, piano)only with T1 sounds and a sequencer just for fun and because it was so realistic for the 1st time ! I can't imagine the result with T3 ! I think about releasing it one day...

Colour me unimpressed. Sure, there's a few nice voices that might impress the home-user enough to part with their two-grand, but it's got nothing that will have pro-users giving up their Roland G-70 or E-80.

Take into concideration the sound quality is YOUTUBE MONO. And so many demonstrators for these Keyboards/Synths are amazingly skill, but knows shit about what sounds cool, and end up playing something youd hear in a shut down tranceclub or a cruise for old people.
