amen. i think a good band that writes and records good music and puts on quality shows should be proud and happy with just that and feel no need to market themselves. and plus, if you don't bother to market yourself most of your fans will be relatively intelligent music lovers, whereas if you put yourself on mtv your fan base will start to look different, in a bad way.
