Use Cotton Wool wiped in petroleum jelly a few times.. really works well :)

lesson u should have learned... USE THE STRIKER THAT COMES WITH THE FIRESTEEL. its better for sparks and if you use your knife, you will dull it.

Budy u r pretty awesome. if ur out hiking or something its really useful 2 cut a candle into a small rectangular prism thing (so it fits well into a box, cup etc.) and use ur cotton 2 light it

it burns 4 ages and burns pretty hot 2.

i got a coleman magnesium and firesteel rod in one and it doesnt seem to light like yours but i havent used it much why is that

mayb ur not using it properly. using magnesium and using firesteels can be quite different.

@douglas0929 its a crappy fire steel thats why. you need to go to a outdoor stoor and get one of the Light My Fire fire steels.
