I find hom to be kinda tricky to learn. Learning him is like mastering two different characters at the same time, the exact opposite of the karatekas (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan, Sakura and Sheng Long where if you know one then have all the others virtually down pat).

Ryu plays nothing like Akuma, who plays nothing like Dan, who plays nothing like Sakura, who plays nothing like Gouken, who plays nothing like Ken.

Everything about them is different. Their specials have different specificities, and you have to use them in completely different situations. Their normals are NOTHING alike. Same for their SUpers and Ultras.

You just don't know what you're talking about.

Lucky bastard! We don't get it in England until the 20th. This past fortnight has been so fucking boring, my birthday is this weekend too but I've just been sat impatiently waiting for this game. Yeah same, I love 2D fighters anyway, bit disappointing with move roster but it's to be expected. DoA4 kept me entertained until SC4 release and now this. I'm sure I'll be playing this until Tekken 6 comes out and even after then. I tend to stick to one 3D fighter at a time but this game doesn't take much remembering for movesets so I can pick up and play any time.

I pre-ordered off a website that sometimes releases games a day or two early, I won't get it on 17th but possibly 18th or 19th.

to me SF4 has alot going for itself and kof 12 just has great 2d but that's all it has goin for itself that clash system is not new at all GGXX has a similiar conecpt in the game snk just slowed it down that's all and the saving attack system is cool for sf4 it brings a whole new idea to 2d fighting games (3d but still 2d)

the kick-style super is the last attack shown in the video. It's a weaker version of the Ultra.

i used to think that man, back in october but in september we got an arcade machine, its pretty decent but i only think that because i had ideas that capcom wouldve moved forward with the series not backwards, its a real cool game to play, its fun, so i guess it does its job

I don't think it'll suck, but I was disappointed with the graphical approach--especially since SNK is redoing their 2D sprites for KOFXII (which look amazing).

Also, I was hoping for a full sequel, rather than a prequel to SFIII, because I was worried a prequel would shut out characters like Alex and Dudley. Lo and behold, that's what happened.

While the game has grown on me, I think it could be better. I'll still get it ASAP, though. :p

yup, i hated the idea of a prequel and i really wanted the game to look like kof but oh well. the best thing about this game is the focas attack, which is more of a parray to me. to thats cool, it also has ex moves which are pretty nice. its pretty lame it only has 4 original characters excluding gouken and seth because they've been done already. and when you play it you definitly know it could've been better. but its capcom they dont have to work hard to make a ton of cash. their name does it

Making a prequel was such a cop-out. Instead of forging a new chapter in the series, they caved and went for the easy SFII money. Couldn't they bring back the old characters in a full sequel? Did the reception to III scare them that much?

In setting the game between II and III, Capcom told us they wouldn't try to exceed either. I'm sure it'll do well, but piggybacking will make it a hollow victory.

yea i agree. when i heard the announcement for sf4 man i thought it was gonna be huge! i thought capcom was gonna do something really amazing like having all fighters from sf, sf2,sf 3 as well as everyone from the alpha series, and the ex series as well as a bunch of new fighters, i know it sounds like a lot but this is sf4 man its been ten years! the hardcore fans are still at the arcades putting down hard quarters to play third strike. i just really feel betrayed. i expected way more than this

I'd have issues with the story too if too many characters were in the game, but that's a whole different story :D

I like huge rosters too, but it doesn't have its place in a genuine sequel, like IV.

ok i agree that i want a well balanced fighting game and im gonna stop complaining because i think capcom will release more characters as downloadable content. maybe. as far as the story goes, i think its best not to think about it. but dont get me wrong if you've played this you know there are very cheap characters in the game. as far as calling it a sequel personally i wouldn't to me its a remake w a few new characters. thats just my opinion after playing it.

I think if Capcom releases more characters as DLC, people will be up at arms and complain - they're already complaining about paying for the alternate costumes. Also, it sort of seems like a tough thing to do for a fighter (downloadable characters) - maybe it'll get the Super Turbo HD Remix Version 3 treatment (eg, multiple versions of IV, like II).

Who would you call cheap? I know I find Ryu players challenging because of all his Ultra opportunities, but it still seems fair.

el fuete cuz he has an infinite hit combo you stop taking damage after 7 hits but it resets if they knock you dizzy so you take damage for 7 more hits, balrog is top tier in the game though. ken was my best character in sf 2 3 but now its more guile, chun li and blanka, i've only seen pros use ken and ryu really tight. never anybody else. so nine times out of ten when you play ryu players you wont have a problem if your decent.

I've heard about this El Fuerte infinite, and looked it up further.. haha, apparently, Capcom has denied that its an infinite. Apparently, it's hard to do, but I don't care if you need godlike timing - an infinite is an infinite. If this is true, then he is incredibly broken.

I love playing Boxer. I started with Ken when I first started, but I have more fun with Boxer. I get scared playing Ryus because if you jump in/get hit by a SRK, you should prepare to eat a big fat Ultra o_o.

oh dude another thing about that is ryus ultra is super weak, trust me i know, all the ryu players hate it lol yea you got to push 5 buttons at once for el fuetes infinite, also that fat blond dude is really cheap youll see online if you play against a good player.

Yeah, I was disappointed at first too... but I have to say, after playing it, the game is addictive especially with all the possibilities when it comes to the focus system. I can't wait for the home version and the added characters!
