@icsomethingshiny124 imagine if bilbo smoked weed. imaigne if instead of being a burglar, he was a pothead. and gandalf was his boss. hed have to get weed from his 13 dwarf weed dealers, and he'd go to smok's layer to steal his epic mouns of cush and instead of trolls eatin the dwarfs they were the police arrestng them. he'd get his elfish doobie Stank (a mere spliff to the elves, but a big-ass blunt to a hobit) and blaze hella all day
knock first when he masturbates! no i'm totally joking, it's all in good fun, i grew up watching these and reading the books jrr tolkien was a genius, i can't wait for the new hobbit movie
When it comes to dwarves, size doesn't really matter. Gloin may be tiny, but he fought heroically in the climactic Battle of Five Armies alongside the other dwarves, and was one of the few survivors of that battle. It's quite likely that Gimli gets his toughness from his father.
OMG, I saw this movie in grade school, and this song has been sporadically popping into my head at monthly intervals ever since. And I found it through simple coincidence!
Thorin and company at your service. Dwalin, Balin. Kili, Fili. Dori, Nori and Ori. Oin sir and Gloin sir. Call him Bifur and him Bofur. And uh.. BOMBUR at your service
Hard to imagine all 13 dwarves getting screen time in the new upcoming movie. I imagine it'll just be the important ones getting the most: Thorin, Balin and Gloin [Gimlis dad]
Oh my goodness! It's my song! I love to sing this around my friends when we eat sometimes. Love how Bombur gets on the screen; I impersonate his voice when I think about him. ^__^
Thorin at your service! meet Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili, Dori, Nori and Ori, Orinser and Glorinser, Biffer, Baffer, Bombur, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey and not forgetting Tiny Tim!
The song doesn't make as much since today as it did then. The song makes it easier for children to realize that bilbo us kindof a tight ass. Really the song just says that he doesn't like people tearing up his stuff.
Crazysinging chick dances gaily to the song that the dwarves sing. Bilbo Attacks Crazysingingchick! A miss. Crazysingingchick flees out an exit. The end. :)
Words of warning! Never invite a wizard and a company of thirteen dwarves into your home or they'll trash the place, eat evreything you can offer to them at your dinnertable and sing a silly rhyming song!
The movie adaption sure isn't perfect, but it's still a damn good movie in it's own right. I must have checked out the VHS from my library once a week when I was growing up. Excellent work.
@RazelG Hehe, they had a limit of time in which to work with, so they HAD to cut out some things, so alot of good scenes were lost. However, like you said, what they kept and worked with still amounts to a great experience to watch.

The movie omits some scenes, b ut they do it for the sake of time... But the movie more than makes up for it on the songs. I'v heard other attempts at reproducing tolkeins songs, and Rankin/Bass did it best.
@DrakeSpyro XD They didn't actually make a mess, short of filling up his kitchen sink. They were just singing those lyrics to tease bilbo, because they quickly figured out 'what bilbo baggins hates'. In a way, makes them kinda jerks, but also kinda funny because It's good hearted jeering.
haha, I love this. I've watched the movie since I was real little. Then I read the book, and watched the movie again after I read the book. The singing in the books was one of my favorite parts, then when I watched the movie I was a little stunned, but come on. I still like it. Oh yeah. My dad loved the movie. It's one of his favorite. He likes to talk about the hair on the Hobbits' toes. haha. But I haven't ever seen him read a book.
I read the book when I was eleven. Mom bought it at a flea market, and I read it immediately. I remember my younger cousin was trying to get me to come outside and play with her, but I was too busy reading this particular book. She busted the window on accident because she was banging on it to get my attention. lol
i love this movie but the stated that seven of those dwarfs died in the last battle in the book only thorin and kili and fili died when trying to get to the goblin leader.

HAHA, I'm sorry for being silly. I just personally feel that this song demeans the book that it came from and doesn't portray the situation accurately. Like I said, they're making fun of the guy and it's pratically a bar song. If they ever do transcribe it to the film they should add some malice to it, if not, they should just cut it. But that's only my opinion. I've hated sing-a-longs ever since I was a kid, and I've always felt they demeaned a story's value in most cases.
