  • Great song, but not accurate to the book....

  • 1977 hobbit mate :P

  • Thumbs up if you are from OOTS Forum on The Hobbit.

  • @thawhtet8 Thumbs down. :p (Its Giant in the Playground forums, for one thing.)

  • Away with you, foul potheads! You're ruining a perfectly good childhood gem here

  • Holy crap rush of nostalgia right there...

  • actually, bombur is the brother of bofur, and bifur is their cousin,so bifur is the one without brother

  • Bilbo looks better in the videogame. ._."

  • @icsomethingshiny124 imagine if bilbo smoked weed. imaigne if instead of being a burglar, he was a pothead. and gandalf was his boss. hed have to get weed from his 13 dwarf weed dealers, and he'd go to smok's layer to steal his epic mouns of cush and instead of trolls eatin the dwarfs they were the police arrestng them. he'd get his elfish doobie Stank (a mere spliff to the elves, but a big-ass blunt to a hobit) and blaze hella all day

  • @AssassinTheHasson ...what does this have to do with bombour? :T

  • @icsomethingshiny124 bombasshell you mean? the bringer of the weed tokes

  • @AssassinTheHasson No. Bombour. The dwarf...

  • @icsomethingshiny124 20 blunts of power were rolled.

Three Rings for the Elven-kings blazin in the sky,

Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of dro,

Nine for Mortal Men doomed to get high,

One for the Dank Lord on his dank throne

  • @AssassinTheHasson ...okay

  • @icsomethingshiny124 bilbo: *smokes huge bowl*

Gandalf: *knockin on door* biblo u need to check out da dwarvfes best minecraft weedlords in all of middle earf

  • FUCK YEAH BOMBOUR!

  • knock first when he masturbates! no i'm totally joking, it's all in good fun, i grew up watching these and reading the books jrr tolkien was a genius, i can't wait for the new hobbit movie

  • luv this movie and the songs

  • Sure, I wouldnt mind 13 or so dwarves sharing my tiny hobbit hole with me and a human twice the size of it. :I

  • They are such rude house guests!

  • That tiny little dude was Gloin? The one that is Gimli's Dad? How did such a tiny looking dwarf father such a badass?

  • @neofire10

When it comes to dwarves, size doesn't really matter. Gloin may be tiny, but he fought heroically in the climactic Battle of Five Armies alongside the other dwarves, and was one of the few survivors of that battle. It's quite likely that Gimli gets his toughness from his father.

  • I like how they all came over just to troll him

  • @BlankingBlanks Those thirteen dwarves could outtroll those three trolls they meet later any day of the week.

  • our poor country never showed this series

  • @SoldierFortune23: and etc., and etc., and etc... ;)

I've always loved this part of the movie. <3

  • I though it was black people?

  • The music that starts at 0:19 is amazing, they should have made ir longer.

  • 9 people hate having their glasses chipped and plates cracked and knives blunted and forks bent and bottles smashed and corks burned.

  • 9 people are hated by Bilbo

  • @buffer545 I only it were 13

  • Bilbo Baggins, we hire you as our burglar, but first we'll show you how it's done by making your very own house look burglarized!

  • What kind of asshats sit around at a man's (well, Hobbit's) house and sings about what he hates?

  • @Primantiss They were trying to AVOID doing those things.

  • 8 people are not at the dwarves service

  • It says "Chip the flagons" in the book? :P Thats out of memory and I don't have the book anymore so don't troll me if I'm wrong XD

  • @Describingthelost They probably changed it to "glasses" because most people don't know what flagons are.

  • "What's up Bilbo!? We're just here to fuck your shit up... LOL."

  • So Bilbo hates trolling?

No wonder he turned three of 'em to stone.

  • "I should like to hold it again...one last time. ARGHGHRGH!!!!!"

    -Bilbo Baggins

  • This part always makes me laugh, you could see Bilbo's face like "Uh excuse me, no wait!"

  • If this isn't in the remake I'm going to kill myself

  • Gandalf is such a dick in this movie.

  • Bilbo hates ALL of that shit, man. You wanna piss off Bilbo? Fuck with the man's dishes.

The fuck am I even watching

  • 0:33 Bombur looks very distraught that Bifur (I think it's Bifur) is passing that turkey to the others...

  • The scene reminds me of if my family visits me, we will see

  • I just read this book about a week, very enjoyable.

  • Careful with them plates, you freeloading midgets!

  • xD awesome

  • OMG, I saw this movie in grade school, and this song has been sporadically popping into my head at monthly intervals ever since. And I found it through simple coincidence!

  • I think this video proves it----dwarves are obnoxious.

  • Thorin and company at your service. Dwalin, Balin. Kili, Fili. Dori, Nori and Ori. Oin sir and Gloin sir. Call him Bifur and him Bofur. And uh.. BOMBUR at your service

  • Hard to imagine all 13 dwarves getting screen time in the new upcoming movie. I imagine it'll just be the important ones getting the most: Thorin, Balin and Gloin [Gimlis dad]

  • @Essefen

Bombur'll get a fair share of it, too. He's the most obvious comic relief.

  • @Essefen id say bombur fili and kili had pretty big parts

  • Bilbo looks like some depressed toddler.

  • bilbo looks like a chick

  • @TheDaki75

Man, poor you! @__@ You must have been looking at some really fugly chicks all your life!

  • @Serena2009ification dident say he looked hot.. I just said that he looked like a chick with that hair/eyes, a fat ugly chick.

  • dwarves have a a very odd sense of perfection.

  • Too bad song wasn't longer.

  • Oh my goodness! It's my song! I love to sing this around my friends when we eat sometimes. Love how Bombur gets on the screen; I impersonate his voice when I think about him. ^__^

  • "Dwarves have a strange notion of perfection!"

    - Bilbo Baggins

  • Thorin at your service! meet Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili, Dori, Nori and Ori, Orinser and Glorinser, Biffer, Baffer, Bombur, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey and not forgetting Tiny Tim!

  • I love that song in the book.

  • like half of them died in moria :(

  • I got this song stuck in my head and hated it so much I started changing lyrics.

"Mint Star Trek collector plates...that's what Bilbo Baggins hates!"

  • The song doesn't make as much since today as it did then. The song makes it easier for children to realize that bilbo us kindof a tight ass. Really the song just says that he doesn't like people tearing up his stuff.

  • poor bilbo doesnt get uch better from there on :(

  • Crazysinging chick dances gaily to the song that the dwarves sing. Bilbo Attacks Crazysingingchick! A miss. Crazysingingchick flees out an exit. The end. :)

  • The dwarves are acting like dicks.

  • poor bilbo

  • Words of warning! Never invite a wizard and a company of thirteen dwarves into your home or they'll trash the place, eat evreything you can offer to them at your dinnertable and sing a silly rhyming song!

  • Chip the glasses, crack the plates, thats what Bilbo Baggins hates!

  • I decided that if I could find this on youtube, then the internet is the best thing to ever happen.

  • Haha. Gotta love youtube! Haven't seen this since I was a little tike! Thanks for the post!

  • Read the whole book! I used to sit on a tree limb and reread every song in The Hobbit!! ROCK ON, J.R.R. TOLKIEN!!!! =-)

  • hmmm ^^ happy childhood memories ^^

  • The movie adaption sure isn't perfect, but it's still a damn good movie in it's own right. I must have checked out the VHS from my library once a week when I was growing up. Excellent work.

  • @RazelG Hehe, they had a limit of time in which to work with, so they HAD to cut out some things, so alot of good scenes were lost. However, like you said, what they kept and worked with still amounts to a great experience to watch.

  • i wish my name was himbafa

  • @pink333zebra; lol, i think he meant to say "Bofur"

  • To night torch. The ones who look alike are either brothers or cousins.

  • Love the book and the movie is awesome. Will always come back to them :)

  • I like the movie too, but some scenes are omitted and there are couple of differences between this film and book. But who cares!? It is a good movie to watch! I liked it, and its songs. You can see that directors are really trying to achieve their goal. Which they mostly do....

  • What was their goal?

  • To try and make it a worthy adaptation.... (BTW. I said "try" :P)

  • Good goal. I read the books all the time and I thought this movie was indeed worthy.

  • The movie omits some scenes, b ut they do it for the sake of time... But the movie more than makes up for it on the songs. I'v heard other attempts at reproducing tolkeins songs, and Rankin/Bass did it best.

  • Yeah! That's what I meant!

  • it was released in 1977

  • that is NOT how it goes.. im sry lol

  • Bilbo puts up with alot.

  • Its cuz hes short.

  • Spoiler!

Bilbo snaps and kills the dwarves on account of their oppurtunistic ways. Gandalf is still in therapy.

  • You forgot about what Mr. Baggins did to Gollum.... Poor poor Gollum

  • Spoiler!

Bilbo violates Gollums ring. Gollum still has walking difficulties.

  • Hehe. WE ARE ALL AT YOUR SERVICE, but we eat at your table and make a mess at your home :3

  • @DrakeSpyro XD They didn't actually make a mess, short of filling up his kitchen sink. They were just singing those lyrics to tease bilbo, because they quickly figured out 'what bilbo baggins hates'. In a way, makes them kinda jerks, but also kinda funny because It's good hearted jeering.

  • @DrakeSpyro

sounds like MY best friends anyway....minus the awesome adventure to a dragon's lair though....

  • the book was awesome!!

  • I love at 0:33 , look at Bombours face as the chicken/duck/whatever passes in front of him. He looks like he could eat the whole thing.

  • i bet he did lol =P

  • I love that book!!!

  • man i love this:D:D:D:D

i like this story about bilbo and the dwarfs

  • yes and dont forget happy dopy grumpy slappy crappy zits rash vomit AIDS HIV ahurnia and that is the dog jim

  • I first saw the movie when I was little

    I enjoyed it,

but noticed it very different from

thebookI enjoy both despite the differences.

  • haha, I love this. I've watched the movie since I was real little. Then I read the book, and watched the movie again after I read the book. The singing in the books was one of my favorite parts, then when I watched the movie I was a little stunned, but come on. I still like it. I was sad that it was only a small portion of the song, but really. Be realistic. With a movie, the book is going to HAVE to undergo changes and be cut. They could've done a lot worse. So yeah, I still enjoy the movie..

  • you read the book too?

My dad used to read it to me when I was

small he still does if I ask him too

and if he's in the right mood.

  • Oh yeah. My dad loved the movie. It's one of his favorite. He likes to talk about the hair on the Hobbits' toes. haha. But I haven't ever seen him read a book.

I read the book when I was eleven. Mom bought it at a flea market, and I read it immediately. I remember my younger cousin was trying to get me to come outside and play with her, but I was too busy reading this particular book. She busted the window on accident because she was banging on it to get my attention. lol

  • Gloin Is Cool

  • i love this movie but the stated that seven of those dwarfs died in the last battle in the book only thorin and kili and fili died when trying to get to the goblin leader.

  • I'm not sure why, but Balin is my favorite. I think it has something to do with the glasses. He looks so smart and Dwarvishly cute.

  • It's sad to see this with Balin and then turn to his tomb in the Fellowship. :(

  • true

  • to me Balin seeems

    elderly to me

  • there are about five verses in the book

  • These Dwarves look more like Gnomes.

  • you are right

  • hobbits do not look like that.

  • these were the original hobbits..... this predates the movie by years

  • man, I love this movie! A real classic!

I wish they'd keep the songs in for the live-action "Hobbit" movie, but I doubt they'd do that.

  • you know, just shut up,sometimes its better to keep opinions to yourself, and i hope they keep it also

  • HAHA, I'm sorry for being silly. I just personally feel that this song demeans the book that it came from and doesn't portray the situation accurately. Like I said, they're making fun of the guy and it's pratically a bar song. If they ever do transcribe it to the film they should add some malice to it, if not, they should just cut it. But that's only my opinion. I've hated sing-a-longs ever since I was a kid, and I've always felt they demeaned a story's value in most cases.

  • We have to perform this on Friday. I'm Nori, but no, I have no beard. xD

  • I have watched this so many times, I can recite the words to the song and the names of the dwarves.

  • man! when i was 5 i would watch this movie over and over again EVERY night

  • Ive seen this 1000 times.

  • Dwarves have a strange notion of perfection. I wonder if they'll make Bilbo say that in the Hobbit film. I just think it would be quite interesting if they did.

  • when is the live action movie coming out? im sick of waiting.

  • 2011

  • But not nearly as much as if the answer were 'never'.

  • true, very true

  • somehow, i doubt they will. shame, too.

  • Oh, i can barely wait for the "live" movie to get out. :D

  • Live movie?

  • me too!!!

  • mmj987iuj

  • it sounded a little better when my parents and gran sang me to sleep with this song but i like it still......

    porr bilbo XD

  • sorry i spelt poor wrong XD

  • this is my favorite of all time

  • too many damn dwarves

  • i loved that song when i read the book, but this doesn't quite do it justice. oh well, it's still a cute song.

  • My grandma read the book to me when I was little. It was much more exiting when she sang it.

  • lulz

  • Poor, porr Bilbo... xD

  • epic song

  • Does anyone know the song where Frodo imagines the Golbins and hobbits becoming friends? I'd love to see that one!

  • First off, Frodo was in the Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit was Bilbo. The goblins and hobbits never became "friends." I'm not sure what song you're talking about.

  • In the old version of The Return of the King... theres a part where Frodo is with Sam and remembering the Shire. I remember because my dad has all the new, and old movies. Remember? In the new movies its when Frodo and sam are in Mordor, and Sam is talking him about the birds in the hazel thicket and about strawberries, and frodo's like, "Oh, sam, I don't even remember the taste of food."

I know what she's talking about, I just don't know any movies about it. Sorry!

  • I do, that part was kinda touching...i know.

do you remember from the real-movies when isengard fall and when the ghost army arrive to minas tirith?i felll sad fore all the orcs, yes they are evil.but they look so helpless and i just feel sorry fore them...

  • A rather belated response to this but you're probably thinking of "Leave Tomorrow til it Comes" from the animated version of ROTK. Near the end of his journey Frodo falls asleep and dreams of an idealised version of the quest where he and Sam travel up Mt Doom and casually drop the ring in and along the way meet a pair of Orcs who simply wave to them.

  • lol

  • When I read the book and the dwarves had thier little rhyme it was so much fun to sing along!

  • why do they have to make all the animated versions into musicals?

  • That song was in the actual book.

  • i really feel sorry for bilbo here, he must have been driving crazy. And i really like dwarves but i HATE them here!

  • man these cartoons take me back (though im only 21). remember when they were on Disney Channel sometimes in the early 90s?

Richard Boone is still etched into my memory as the voice of Smaug every time I read the book.

on a side note, poor Gimli...his dad and uncle look mildly retarded.

  • I just finished reading the book again, and I never imagined the dwarves looked so old, nor Bilbo being so young.

  • lol, very fun part of teh movie. Very fun movie. I wish I could find teh movie poasted, ah whatever, this was fun

  • this is an AWESOMELY AMAZING movie.... wish i could find it at home.

  • crack the dishes, break the plates, thats what bilbo baggins hates... wonderful movie!
