I'm old enough to remember when ASM, Peter Parker The Spectacular Spiderman and Web of Spiderman came out during the same month and, with the exception of the Secret Wars II tie-ins, one story had no relationship with the others! I lost interest in following any of them for that reason! It's story quality, not the continuity is fine for the solo/team book appearances, but if you're going to have three solo books, the least you can do is acknowledge that it's the same character, not 1 w/3 lives!
lol u know what? geeks really don't help themselves, most people cant believe I'm interested in comics & collecting figurines because of my appearance. the lack of sunlight and dull coloured (English spelling)clothes don't do these guys any favors lol respect!!!!!!
I think multiple apperances in diffrent books in fine. Usually, after one story ends, it will be greafted into the canon of the other series, so thats ok.
The potential problem with a thrice monthly book is the one perspective. Remember the Superman books when one comic led into the next week's issue creating one single story. Terrible. Seperate titles at least have the benefit of potentially having at least one good story out of the three. Problem with one character appearing multiple times is the lack of breathing room. How Wolverine can be so many places at once during so many events is baffling. Works only when breathing room's available.
I love Alex's idea of making all the books run like amazing spider-man. It simplifies things and makes it easier to follow the story. Publish one title multiple times a month for a character, and leave it at that. Wolverine has to be by far the worst offender with appearing in multiple titles and its becoming a little overkill. Its like hearing the same song over and over again on the radio. I used to be a big fan of Wolverine, but now I'm sick of him.
The same goes for Batman and Superman as well. They keep adding books, too (e.g. Trinity) along with BIG events (Final Crisis and SI). It's makes continuity HARD to maintain.
i think characters are just another tool for telling the story that the writer wants to put forth. each character has certain ingrained traits (from years of writers writing about said character) that gives the writer the ability to shape and mold the tale they wish to tell. just like in shakespeare, he really only wrote like, 3 types of characters, all he did was change the names. same thing for us, only no one's changing their names.
I have no problem with characters appearing in multiple books if you can at least place it into some sort of character timeline! Continuity is important for character development!
how bad is like spidey's timeline right now, where Brand New Day takes place both before and after World War Hulk?
Great show, guys. I don't have a problem with characters appearing in a bunch of different titles. If the continuity doesn't match up, it doesn't match up. Who cares? All I want is a good story.
blah...I actually think the story started kind of dumb...confusion is right. And I'm of the opinion that IF Batman had a real relationship, I think he'd be quiet about it...no one would know. lol
I say its our fault for liking them tomuch in the past. People picked up books with Wolverine and Spiderman on the cover because they are popular and lets face it, they make good covers better sometimes.
I remember you guys talking about how in one book, they were trying to make batman go insane and in another book that came out in the same week that had batman and it didn't alude to him going insane.
Holly Sh*t, you're Alex from Spill aren't you!

I hate how Wolverine and Spidey are on the cover of 90 percent of the comics out!!!
I swear I thought I saw Spidey swinging through Metropolis.
Good Show. Do you guys get paid to review comics? If so, where do I submit my application?
