I'd try jumping on his earrings for lack of a better term, to get on his head without stabbing his neck. Most likely the moss won't have any collisions. But it's always worth a shot.

Second to comment:)! That Ivy is pretty high up. You might be able to reach if you catapult at the right moment, but it seems unlikely.
