Who knows for sure. Now-a-days canceling shows is becoming a common option. I hope they don't cancel shows like these. They are so bad ass. So fantastic. So awesome. I want to watch series like these and not stupid "basketball wives" or "60 year olds in Sex in the City".

@SashkaBlack I beg to differ. All respect to Joseph Fiennes but he cannot hold a candle to Nicol Williamson (Excalibur 1981). Nobody tops Nicol as Merlin.

@DreadedPantherTank He's exceptional, it's quite true, but this Merlin has so many conflicts in his head and his magic isn't what you would hope it would be, and that is portraited beautifully in this episode. Of course, everyone has an oppinion, I just prefer Fiennes, I love the actor and I've been following his work for quite a while now :) I also think the idea of Leontes is absolutely incredible in Camelot!

Merlin Froze the lake.....did you not see him place his hand over the lake and start whispering spells? He has the ability to shape and bend earth's natural forces to his own will, but his powers always comes with consequences.

ummm...he froze the water to stop her from getting away dude....he cant walk on water ...he's not Jesus. If you watched the whole episode you would understand. and this is the "young" Merlin, before he knew how to control his "powers" or even knew what all he could really do with them.

@deadman00 This Merlin is absolutely THE BEST thing about this series. The problem with this video clip is that it uses the voice-over of him telling the story of how he got the sword, but he's lying -- because the reality was much, much more disturbing.

If you watch the actual scene, with the actual dialogue and music, it's hands-down the most disturbing and powerful scene in the series up to that point. And this Merlin is powerful, conflicted, dangerous and half-mad. A welcome departure.

@jtmccloud1 He was also chanting, "The King must have his sword! The King must have his sword!" as his hand was shaking and he began to freeze the lake. It was very, very freaky and a hell of a lot different than any other series has portrayed Merlin or magic in general.

This series has its flaws, but the portrayal of Merlin and the portrayal of magic as dangerous for the body and the soul is a nice departure from the same old Harry Potter bullshit where people wave wand and gesture to cast.

What a great moment to see Merlin walking on the frozen river to get Excalibur (both girl and sword) I love the way you mixed the audio of Merlin telling the story with the actual events.
