  • Yeah, but how many people are gonna buy Gt500's? Plus in a drag race the Gt500 wins by a car length and the Camaro takes the lead first. If it wasnt for that Supercharger the Mustang has, it would be toast.

  • the Mustang can catch up on it bcuz its light but once all the power on the Camaro is unleashed, bye bye Mustang =/. well at least Ford is adding the 5.0back. it might increase the liter of the Shelby so it wont be supercharged, because as much as i love Mustangs, that super charger drives me nuts whenn it cries.

  • Why don't you like the sound of the supercharger? It sounds fine, It just makes the car louder and a LOT faster.

  • Bcuz its to loud and when my uncle lets me drive his Shelby i can only hear the Supercharger instead of the engine sound. I mean we all have our like and dislikes.

  • This is too photoshoped! The scoops and louvers look ridiculously fake and the 5.0 badge is not even straight. Plus the Mach 1 decals are just from the 4th gen models. I love the mach 1 Mustangs and would love to see a return but I really doubt it as ford has not siad anything and the new 5.0 "coyote" engine will be put into the GT.

  • I heard the 302 will be making anywhere from 400 to 430hp. As soon as GM got note the Mach1 package is coming back GM started to bring back the Z28 option for 2011 Camaros.

  • both of those are concepts at the time, the Z28 and Mach 1, doubtful theyll be anything more, although both companies are bringing out special packages for their respective pony cars

  • Yea. Ford just unveiled the new 302 BOSSr racing model. Check it out, looks a lot like this. Still wondering what Ford will do with the shelby though. The Z28 is getting 550 hp, so maybe Ford will make a twin turbo for the 5.4? I dunno, but it definately needs more power. As seen in the race against the SS, it's not much faster.

  • ford and shelby unveiled the 2011 GT350, uses the 5L Coyote with a supercharger and a race package, and i thing youre talking about the ZL575 and 550, suffice it to say, GM and Dodge no longer have anything on the fords

  • Its a neat idea to entertain but i gotta ask, is there much room to gap between the GT and GT500? I mean other than the fact that there's a $15k or so difference between them there's really not much to make up between them right? The GT makes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, the GT500 makes it in 4.6 seconds, so is it really worth a whole new model just to bridge the difference between that half a second? If this happened i would want a more powerful GT500 and the Mach1 to take the specs of current GT500

  • I don't think its an actual 302 block. Its gonna be a 286/289 or whatever the 4.6 base block is. Its gonna be stroked to a 302./5.0. Same setup with accessories and components except bigger crank and a bore over. Engine compartment space usage will be the same. Camaro and Challenger will be kicked back again and maybe fall dead for sure now!! hahaha.

  • Actually The Coyote is a totally different Engine Block than the 4.6. It's a Modular setup 'persay' But nothing like the 4.6 Modular Engine. And it's going to be an Actual 5.0/302 Unlike the Pushrod 5.0 which was actually a 4.9XX if I recall correctly. And the engine is actually rumored to be a different angle V than the 4.6 seeing as it's a different block so the Motor is said to weigh less. It's A 5.0 32V DOHC 6Speed Mustang with 400Bhp/400Btq Meaning rwhp will be in the 370-390 range....

  • OH ok, good info. I thought that stroking it to a 5.0 would be an easy way of keeping the same amount of space used in the engine compartment. How did you get your info? If it is actual 302 block that is something completely new in the Ford lineup of engines. New engineering.

    I am kinda excited for the ones that get to buy one. Hope they rock new Camaro SS. Tire of the disadvantace and the shit talking from Chevy fans. Thanks for the info

  • 415hp/435lb-ft of toque and rwhp would be around 390

  • i think they should make the BOSS 302 again, they did the Mach1 in 03 04, i have an 03 Mach and love it and it was a limited production run and it is a great car but i think they should put BOSS 302 on it instead

  • they actually did. the saleen parnelli jones boss 302 that only comes in grabber orange. They keep saying thats the boss 302 because it does indeed have a 5.0 rather than 4.6
