  • GOD IS AN ALIEN

  • Personally, I think Dave's struggling with heartbreak. You can hear it in later songs on this album. He also struggles with the people who have and who have not and obviously with people who believe in a proactive God who controls their lives. I hope he is well but I hear the heartache and searching in the songs on this album. When I hear "Lying in the hands of God," I think of someone taking a trip at home through a needle.

  • When I go to the airport, I make sure this song is my ring tone lol

  • I WANNA BELIEVE IN JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a ticking time bomb

    Waiting to blow my top

    No one would ever know

    Not until I blew up

    No one would believe it

He was such a normal guy

Shake their heads and wonder why

so sad.. rest in peace leroi, you were the timebomb about to blow your top

  • if martians fell from the sky

what would that do to god?

would we put the weapon down?

or aim it up at the sky?

  • another example of how dave matthews puts more emotion into his music than anyone else out there

  • Playstation Home brought me here

  • Best song on their best album.

  • first time i heard this i was on 2 hits of bomb acid and it blew my mind cuz im a christian. new agers who listen to this please find jesus. you cannot be your own savior.. lord yeshua bless you all!!!! FIND JESUS DAVE!!

  • @repentnow123 an acid dropping bible thumper. doesnt get any better then that eh. lmao.

  • I love listening to this with headphones, and hearing Dave whisper "relax" at the beginning

  • Hits me like a rock... This song pretty much describes my thought process

  • This song is amazing. The lyrics are genius

  • my two buddies will play this song on the guitar and the.. bongo? either way it's so good... this is such a well-written song

  • @Vidman1992

Holy crap, this reminds me of the best times I had of my gaming life on Playstation Home. I miss those times so badly. Now I just play WoW on the computer all day.

:-( This song is so emotional.

  • @playram1 thats the gayest thing i've ever heard

  • @AMFantod

LOL, looking back at this comment makes me think, I WAS THE BIGGEST FAGGOT IN 6TH GRADE EVER CREATED. BIGGEST FUCKING LOSER NIPPLE SUCKING FAGGOT.

  • @playram1 Wow.... I bet you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose....

  • @playram1 wow you're a fag.... getting emotional over not playing Playstation and playing WoW instead... get an Xbox and STFU

  • When i heard em play this live my jaw dropped

  • Love this tune, reminds me of Halloween

  • *Puts On Flame Shield* First heard this on playstation home

  • @shellcracker18 ees a good song, and don't worry bout the home thing, it's better then never having heard it at all

  • anyone notice in the first few seconds.....you can hear dave whisper "relax"....i could never hear that on the CD

  • Waaaaayyyy better live

  • @KFCFK agreed

  • dreaming tree part 2 ?

  • @spooninspoon ---yes it is, nice spot

  • God this song is powerful...

  • I hear something familiar in his voice, I want to say Echo and the Bunnymen, Lips Like Sugar. Anyone else?

  • hammer in the final nail...into the jonas brothers coffin. @mhh8997

  • best moments in Rock last times

  • Fucking love BMB, and this song!!! Such a huge fan!

  • How exactly do jonas brothers even make it into the same sentence. LOL

  • mhh8997 - really??? Please don't comment when you have no clue what you're talking about!! Idiot - yeah dave stole this from the jonas brothers! YOU ARE A MORON!!! Keep listening to your little boy band!!

  • im waiting to see a tour of zac brown band pearl jam o.a.r and dave matthews band that would be fucking amazing

  • Umm no. Why would DMB have JB write a song for them when they have all the means to do it themselves? This song is by Dave Matthews Band no one else.

  • @mhh8997 the jonas brothers cant write music. there music is written by studio producers because there brains dont function the same as other musicians.

  • actually not to bitch to you but they do actually write their own music...not defending them but i don't like bashing people without facts haha

  • I first heard hints of Eddie Vedder as well... Either could easily make this song brilliant i like what dave has done here.

  • very intense, when i saw this live a few months ago i lost it haha

  • this song is so powerful.. i love the chorus and end.. makes me get the chills...

  • the emotion of this song is Eddie Vedderish...so powerful.....it's brilliant...love this song!

  • I remember I was on the bus blastin this song through my headphones and when the last part came up when he was screaming it was soundin hella loud and like the whole bus was starin like "WTF kinda devil music is that nigga listenin to?

but Alligator pie is better IMO. whole album was flames

  • I actually laughed out loud to your comment.

  • This song makes me cry... I love it so much

  • how, i think the song is great

  • best song on the album, gota love the last verses passion

  • right before the start of the song you hear dave say relax

  • i luv dmb and i agree TheMONNETT this song is very powerful

  • this song is powerful, dave sounds so mad at the end. It sounds like his vocal chords are about to crack right open. He screams "I wanna believe in Jesus" at the top of his lungs at the very end, this song is all about struggling to accept what you wish you could but just can bring yourself to doing, in my opinion. I love that line: "Baby when i go home, i wanna pick up the pieces, baby when i get home, i wanna believe in Jesus"!

  • did you guys see the show on the MSG channel??? Wow!! what a hellified version of this tune, blown away!!!

  • Man, can you just imagine what a video for this song from them would look like? :D

I'm actually surprised they don't go into the "No one would believe it" segment one more time at the end. The lack of that hook kinda makes the shock of the last part fizzle a bit. But still love the song regardless.

  • I love this song so much, it's probably my favourite on his new album.

I saw him in concert and he played this song... it was amazing.

    I really love him :)

  • Going to dave tonight and tomorrow hell yea wanted to know if ne1 heard him play it on tour my fav too woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • You're spelling is sub-par.

  • I love the passion at 3:09 when he really gets going and the music gets faster.

  • 2:55 *

  • love this song they always play it at central plaza on playstation's home

  • yap lol thats how i found it

  • Thanks for the post and saving me from disappointment at spending my hard earned dollars on this.

  • best song they've came out with since bartender on the lillywhite sessions.

    great tune.

  • NICE FREAKIN SONG!

  • Fantastic!!

  • all the fucking nutjobs!

    Great lyrics, xD

  • Im a huge dave matthews fan i went to one of his concerts but the ending of that song sounds like cats dieng

  • at the end of the song his voice is like electronically mad for the song

  • you must be a huge fan, youve been to one whole show.

  • screw u ur obviously retarted because if you dont like some one your not gonna see them and concert and not everyones as rich as your life made ass so have fun in hell

  • um im not quite sure what you meant by that, couldnt really understand it. but i live on my own, you looked pretty young on your profile so im just going to leave this alone.

  • Everyone knows dave rocks...Ignore idiots.

  • Wow... This is hands down my fav. off this album.

  • so mellow and it kicks ass

  • Dave at his best...

  • I cant get over how Dave sounds exactly like Eddie Vedder at 3:01

  • they get crazy in this song. Great album DMB.

  • this is just pure awesomeness from DMB once again. Such A Great Album

  • .....relax....

  • this is definitly my favorite so far. !

  • hey he can post what he wants do.. and why do you care its not hurting you at all, jsut enjoy the album

  • My fav songs from Big Whiskey:

    Seven

    Time Bomb

    Alligator Pie

    Squirm

The other songs like Funny the Way it is and Why I am seem very mainstream. The last half of the album is really good and the songs I mentioned above feel more like DMB.

  • What can I say? It's my pride and joy.

  • Comment removed

  • posting the same comment about dmb songs on every new dmb song is mainstream, leave that exact comment on some random bands video, that would be original.

  • I don't care I'm just a little shocked I suppose that it's on every single video.

  • haha...nice

  • i hope you keep pasting this comment for the rest of your life.

  • @TurtleMafia

    Shake Me Like A Monkey

    Time Bomb

    Dive In

    Alligator Pie

    Why I Am

    Baby Blue

I couldn't agree with you more about the mainstream comment. Not so much that he's selling out, but that it has that more mellow mainstream sound. Still love Funny The Way It Is. The music video is deep. keep up wiith the intelligent comments. Keep all DMB haters away.

  • That song is unbelievable. Wow. I can't wait to hear it live at the beacon theater!

  • the breakdown is great

  • this is def my fav song on the new album.
