I support the war because I thought it was the right thing to do. Still do. And I have good logical reasons Davis couldn't even begin to poke holes in.
It's bad form to try to beat your opponent by questioning their motives, Davis.
Nice meeting you though! glennpw, you too. And Peter!
Hey- I was the camera man - I had to use this little tiny flip camera. I am usually much better. Honestly. Check out any of the Davis Fleetwood videos from the debate. I shot all of those.
I hope that Liberals are elcted for the next 20 years so that all of you who think you are liberal will finally realize how shitty some of these people really are. Then you wouldn't watch bias shit like this.
call me cynical, but i don't believe liberals nor conservatives will save the world, as the world is pretty much done for in the hands of politicians. there is underhandedness and myopia in all politics, period.
no, canadian politics are pretty messed up in their own way. our three realistic choices are either self-indulgent new democrats, spineless liberals, or unempathetic conservatives. it's like playing 'would you rather...' with even more undesirable options.
I really wish I could care about the Presidential debates, but no. Fox, CNN, everything, all any of it is , is entertainment, to get you revved up enough to keep watching, while nothing changes. It's all so very pointless unless you're a political figure, or getting money to act like you care.
The war is good for the economy? Really? From what I've seen, it seems to be one of the reasons why the American dollar has tanked so badly. It ties into the points later in the vid: the world is getting sick of the US and is losing faith that they can continue to walk the same path much longer without severe and lasting repercussions, be it an all out attack on the US, a full-blown economic recession, or some other blow to a mindset of invulnerability and freedom from consequences.
The American Dollar is controlled by the private company called the Federal reserve. Dont let the word Federal fool you. This is a private group that controls the interests rates as it creates money out of nothing. The money comes from promissory notes issued by congress.
That might be where the money comes from, but not what controls its worth. That falls to investors, such as Japan and China. And with the current global situation, faith in the American dollar is considerably weakened, which causes it to be worth less as investors sell off too high risky an investment. The government and banks can influence how good the dollar looks (eg: changing interest rates), but in the end it's the investors who really hold the power.
well... in theory the war promotes our economy, you look at countries like Canada with reasonably low UI rates and you wonder why US is lower? Think about the fact that the war contributes a rediculous sum of money to your economy. In practice however? THE WAR IS SUCKING YOUR COUNTRY DRY!
Ron Paul talks about the effects of blowback. That's one reason to take a non-interventionist policy, it avoids it. We should just mind our own business.
He is right. Keep bullying the rest of the world and eventually that bad karma is going to come back and hit you. The fact that the US economy is taking a nose dive despite waging a war might be evidence of that bad karma already taking effect.
Blackwater doesn't go on missions or fight like our military does. They protect individuals with necessary force, they are a private security force, nothing more. I do believe it's possible they have gone to far on occasion. But we are not employing them to fight our war. That is simply untrue.
Yea, trusting the Bush Administration's claim Blackwater doesn't go on missions.... If some opposition leader, or monkey wrencher standing in the military industrial complex's access to billions of dollars, they'd never call Blackwater to neutralize them; a company who doesn't need to answer US courts, Iraqi Courts, or International Courts. I'm glad you trust them with that kind of power.

Wow, can't even say anything that is true. It's incredible the amount of insanity that resides on the left... too bad they're now clinically insane.

I couldn't agree more, but I'd also like to say that today's liberals aren't real liberals...
And I liked this video. I thought was a very good "what-if rambling".
