  • Why so many people to fix one vagina, give me that finger instrument and ill craft the most beautiful vagina on earth.

  • I always interpreted it as Beverly had gone crazy and taken up all these bizarre rituals, but none his peers could judge him as crazy because they all thought he was smarter than they were. They couldn't tell insanity from genius. A la Alan Moore "How do you tell when the world's most intelligent man has gone insane? Who's even qualified to judge that?"

  • The red scrubs are a nice touch for this movie. It made a creepy movie even creepier. One of my favs.

  • Maybe not my favorite Cronenberg film but I'd say it's his best.

  • Cronenberg likes to joke to people that Canadian surgeons wear that colour when he goes outside the country but no we Canucks use green like everyone else. The film is clearly set in 1988 so its not the near future either, an alternate reality perhaps. David said he wanted to avoid the tired operating room cliches and so using the "College of Cardinals" red look was his way of putting a new spin on them. He says he only likes to capture the illusion of reality, not "real life" itself.

  • HaHa Well said

  • In this film David Cronenberg loosely adapted a novel to express his obssessions: the disintegration of body and soul, the duality of the human being, doctors who can behave like technocrats (the beginning when Jeremy Irons looks like the Christ is eloquent!

  • wtf ? ? ? ? ? ?

  • Doctor : I need number five.

    Nurse: Number five sir?

Doctor: The demon finger looking thing!

Nurse: Oh, here you go sir.

Doctor: (Slices Vagina) FUCK I NEED DRUGS!!!

  • this dude is wasted'

  • this was my inspiration to become a nurse and i just graduated this year!

ive never met doctors like these twins tho. it would've been awesome.

  • @abcd12345 this was your inspiration? please dont operate on anyone. If i ever see a doctor or surgeon dressed like that im gonna gtfo.

  • @Gabrellus only doctors can operate sir

  • @abcd12345 i meant assist with operations like the nurse in the video. sowwy :X

  • OK now -- just bear with me. If I'm being operated on by a guy who's standing in a cross/crucifix formation, dressed like the Pope, backed up by several other popes, bishops, hangmen and/or devil-worshippers, I don't know how much confidence I may have as to the outcome of the operation. Furthermore, it might make me think their use of red is to save on cleaning bills for the uniforms. Is it just me, or does anyone out there agree?

  • @rem2267 that's kind of the point. Don't put your trust in people who have major reputations...sometimes they are not right in the head after a certain point. I know people who are famous and they sometimes don't behave right.

  • @rem2267 why must you bring reality into this

  • @NigerianArchitect Sorry! ;-D

  • @rem2267 okay, let me answer your inquiries. First, Beverly is not in a 'cross/crucifix' formation. This is how surgeons get their operating scrubs on. He just finished washing, or sterilizing, his hands and doesn't want to risk getting germs on them that he could possibly pass on to the patient. Second, since the setting for this film was supposed to be Canada, maybe that's what surgeons where there.

  • @kittylass5 I stand by what I said, and apparently 13 people (so far) do too.

"This is how surgeons get their operating scrubs on." No kidding, I've seen it a hundred times. But the camera lingers on it for quite a while, and that small red cape looks suspiciously like the one the Pope wears, then he takes quite a while to put his arms down. I mean, COME ON! It is called SYMBOLISM.

"...Canada, maybe that's what surgeons wear there." THAT color? Highly doubtful.

  • @kittylass5 Do surgeons wear collars like that over their lab coats?

  • @TPoPArt Not in America they don't. That's why I think the hospital was based in Canada or some otherEnglish- speaking country. Either that or it's supposed to be sometime in the near future.

  • @rem2267 Excellent comment.

  • @TPoPArt - Cheers.

  • @rem2267 That is why you always heavily anesthetize your patients so they have no idea what was done to them. Just be glad that they don't forget a Kindertoy up in there when they are finished...

  • @DoctorHeiterMD

    1) This is very true.

    2) Not sure what a Kindertoy is. I know that Kinder is German for child, though. Would it be a similar situation to the doctor's watch coming off and remaining inside the patient somewhere? Now THAT would be a very David Kronenberg thing to do!

  • very fucked up.

  • its like HR Giger design those..its a trip out movie..Im watching it right now

  • 1:09 Those are some hardcore vagina fixers.
