I spoke with a couple of local cops and asked what they would do if I warned them and started audio and video recording them....they told me that they would want to give any involved individuals their privacy but as long as officers were not at risk, they would have no problem with people recording them. Get the opinion of the police investigators and prosecutors: Is the face clear enough to identify the person? Is it clear that a criminal act occurred, and which person did it? Then provide the real video and watch when the face suddenly is too blurry to identify, or it's not evident that a crime occurred.
