I just bought this unit and have to agree, the battery life is awesome! I bought a replacement foam thing for vex/marcums sold by Cabelas and got rid of the stupid arm. The bad thing about the Cabela's floater is it doesn't really have a good stopper, I would suggest buying the actual vexilar one for about 7.99$ as a replacement.
The battery will last me 3 or 4 days of fishing or so. I fish 4-6 hrs at a time.
Battery life is much better on these LCD units than the Flasher varieties as there isn't any spinning flasher that has to physically spin the dial and brushes to function.
Fish....I dunno brother I never even used it once. I had a foam "pool noodle" that I cut 8" or so off and split lengthwise to to the hollow center. Wrapped it around the ducer cord and zip tied the thing on ala "Vex"
I use a small clothespin as a "stop" to adjust the depth. I can snap pics of you want but it works great for run and gun. Drop and fish, pull and run.
I tried all that. I must have an odd bag or something cause it doesn't fit, the rod seems pointless, I'll be leaving it at home for todays fishing trip
@fisharvester the transducer fits in fine with the arm and rod by simply raising and turning. No one uses the rod because its a tangle just waiting to happen.
Why did the flasher mode read 2.5 for a while? Was it in feet or meters?

Does any other finder have this too? I mean where you can switch from a normal graph to a flasher?
