  • i wish my parents werent so strict and overprotective! i love them to death and all, but i doubt they would ever let me study abroad. and i swear, i would love every second of it. i have a passion for traveling and going to new places with new everythings... ive moved once in my 17 years of living and it was across town... i need to get out. my parents probably wouldnt even let me go on a road trip with friends honestly.

  • Did you go to Cornwall when you were in England? I love Cornwall so much.

  • You should go to bristol in south west england! Such a nice place! :) it is the warmest place in england! (johnny depp even has a house near bristol!

  • Versaille is amazing!

  • in my opinion it's not that hard studying abroad in a contry that has the same landuage. but I still really like that video <3

  • Wow this is the most imformative study abroad video ever!

I can't remember if you mentioned this (maybe I missed it), but how expensive was it to stay in Europe and do all that traveling (just a general idea)? I'd love to do what you did, but I don't want to go broke =/ Did you have to get any sort of job while you were there, or did you just focus on schoolwork?

Thanks for making this video =)

  • The i <3 nerds hoodie's debut :) haha

  • @taintedwings09 She went to UCL :) she says it in the video.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! THE PIZZA???!!!!! the pizza is italian, how can you say that is much better in france?? btw..this is your opinion...

    Sources: i'm italian :P

  • @TheMartinaTina I agree. I'm italian too :)

  • Dus ik ben niet de enigste Belg die hier naar kijkt :)

  • I miss this Ingrid. :/

  • OMG so coolll, you went to belgium! haha, Now I even like you more!

  • Your mum is awesome.. I had the chance to go to either the US or the UK to study, but my mother had stricktly rejected =/

  • i have the same hoodie!!

  • I am going to university in a year and a half and going to apply for a study abroad course in california! so excited, thanks for the tips

  • I've been i Italy and i was so excited to eat pizza and pasta so when i actually got to try them out i was a bit disappointed.I don't rely think that the city you are in makes a huge difference beause i've been to Rome,Siena,Venice,Florence and Pompei and the food was pretty much the same. What i do believe though is that what i thought of the food there probably had to do with how i was used to eating that same thing back at home.Italy has some great dishes and there so many things to see!!!

  • I love ur nail polish!!! What is it???

  • Thank you so much for this! I'm in my first year of university and I was really considering studying abroad for a term. This helped me out so much and has gotten me even more excited to actually do it. Love you, Ingrid. You are my favourite beauty guru on YouTube since I can relate so much to you <3

  • you look/sound very mandy moorish :D

  • In Italy the pizza is amazing in Napoli so of course in Venice isn't really good xD

  • In Italy we have the best men!! auahauhaauh

  • You've got Luke now so you have to stay in America! ;) jk!

  • @thehapagirl92 It's strange, I live in England and haven't been outside depots how easy it is just to go across the channel but my dream is to go to America! :D

  • Since when was Westminster a palace? :P and wow UCL is really hard to get into well done!!! Did u see Jeremy Bentham? (he's the stuffed man in the entrance) and when u said English countryside where snouts was that? I live in the English countryside maybe it was near me!!! :D

  • @Hannah071293 the houses of parliament is also called the palace of westminster

  • @charchin i'm english....admittedly i have only been to london a few times...but i had no idea!

  • come to india , all u'll find is food n malls

  • I live in Oxford. My dad went to university here and my parents have always wanted to live here. SO we moved when I was eleven at the beginning of secondary school. It's kinda awesome.

  • Ahh! So wish I was able to have this experience. Maybe one day...

  • I really want to travel abroad to Europe. I've never been anywhere but states here on the West Coast and I haven't even been up to NorCal in my own state! My mom traveled around Europe when she was a few years younger than me and it sounds like SO much fun!

  • i'd be estatic if i got to study abroad. yeah i'd be homesick but i'm not going to break down and cry about it. i mean, i totally understand if someone would cry about being homesick, but that's just me. (:

  • (continues from previous post) The pizza that you eat in Venice, for example, is completely different from the pizza you eat in Napoli. At Venice the pizza is really thin (too thin for my taste). If you eat it in Napoli I think you would definitely change up your mind ;)

FYI pizza is not a traditional specialty dish of Venice... :)

  • I'm Italian (actually from Venice :)) and I'm in Paris since over 3 years. You said that pizza is better in France than in Italy but there are a few things to say..

In Italy, especially in main cities as Venice, pizzerias are hold by non-Italians and on the other hand in Paris many pizzerias are hold by Italians. Furthermore, Italy is a really particular country as every region is completely different from another: sometimes it really seems to be in another country as the food is completely dif

  • Haha, Brussels is little? wow, I really need to go to the USA :p

  • Gosh! I am going home (to Paris) from uni in the UK tomorrow and hearing you talk about France like that, the pizzas, the Eiffel Tower aaaah it makes me even more eager to go home! I'm glad you liked it there :) I definitely think you need to get away from your country for a while to realise how much you actually love it. I study in the UK but i'd like to do a year/semester abroad in the US ;D

Thank you for another amazing video! :)

  • I just came back from London last Thursday and I seriously cannot describe how much I LOVE it! I wish I could live there.

  • This is one of your best and most informative videos ever! Loved it :) I'm from the North of England so it was fun to hear you mention that!

  • IM FROM MEXICO! :D

  • MY SISTER STUDIED IN UCL SHES UR AGE !!!

  • u dont look older then 18 :)

  • And sorry, but it's ridiculous to talk about going to 'EUROPE' bla and then go to England, France, Italy and Belgium. That is insulting to what Europe has to offer.

And you were warned of the guys in Europe? They should tell you to prepare to run from men in Italy and southern Europe, but to say they're all the same is ridiculous! :D

How can you go to Europe and not visit the largest country and the most upcoming city - Germany and Berlin respectively? I don't get it...

  • I've experienced that people in France aren't thaaaat nice all the time, especially at restaurants or museums! :D

  • did you go to devon/cornwall?

  • i actually got a david and goulia pjs at burlington factory, my sister got the pjs tht says "this is how i roll" and i got "im in rare form one :)!

  • I like how you said it like Tra-ful-ger instead of Tra-fal-ger. I live in London and say it A LOT so it's interesting to hear it in an accent :D

  • hey i live in england and yeah the weather is awefull but its really nice-ish lol so yea u shd come over more :)

  • you should come back to london again so then i can meet you! :)

  • @TheFashionVavilon i thought i was the only one from serbia watching these vids ^_^

  • I live in Europe :) In Belgium, It's so funny to hear you talk about Europe, because I want to study in America ! NY or LA :p And It's funny that you think Brussels is small, you should come to Ghent It is so historical and small and medieval. And I looove Paris, I'm going there almost every year, it's my big love!

  • @princessx3jona omg i'm also from ghent and i want to go to america and i was thinking the same thing. I live in Destelbergen, do you speak dutch? can you go aboad from your parents? sorry i'm just excited

  • YOU WERE IN BRUSSELS?

    Damn, so close..

  • @TheFashionVavilon Oh really? Just because of that I simply already HAVE to like you! ;) as a proud Austrian which I am, you know. Where are you from? Well, actually I don't live in Vienna, I live in Graz, capital city of Styria, 2 hours driving from Vienna. But a city just as great (but not that big thank god) ;) But I suppose the New Year's party in Vienna is amazing, never have been to one, but it has to since it's Vienna. ;)

  • can't believe you're wanting to move to england, when everyone here is DYING to move to california where you are! swapsies? ;]

  • Comment removed

  • How old is Ingrid? :)

  • Goodness, i can't wait for that experience myself! You had such a good experience!

  • So you've bin to belguim but not to the netherlands?

  • Aha pretty much everyone in england thinks its crap here xD

  • @SarahLeanneWarbyUK really? i don't! haha

  • Next time in Europe, you have to come to Austria! You may have never ever heard of Austria before :) no, just kidding. But just in case, it's the little little country southern of big Germany and next to Swiss etc. We have so much amazing, beautiful and especially old architecture and culture! If you have time somewhen, google for example "Hallstatt". It's this small city, which the Japanese (or Chinese? Don't know :)) have just rebuilt in China/Japan, because they loved it so much in Austria :)

  • I would love to hear more about your experiences! I'm very interested in studying abroad, but my parents are a tad skeptical due to safety issues. How should I convince them? :)

  • What travel/study abroad program did you do? (like IES, etc etc)

  • I´ve been many places in Europe but never to the US, but i´m maybe going to the US next year and i´m also maybe going to study there for a year when i´m getting older! : ))

  • @Saarbe LOL elsker at der altid er danskere på Tuben. :-)

  • proud to live in england <3

  • I think I would love to study abroad with Ingrid

  • I decided to go backpacking through Europe with a friend...it ruined Europe for me. She was the worst person I could choose to go with, and she was so obsessed with seeing every country within a month that we spent a day in a lot of countries. Unfortunately Paris and London are 2 of the places that weren't given any justice, and I want to go back sometime.

  • Please come to Budapest. This is such a beautiful city, I think you would love it =)

  • what was your roommate studying?

  • I've watched this video like 5 times. Absolutely dying to go travelling!

  • I love Brussels! Been there a few times

  • I'm sorry, this doesn't accept links and I don't know why, but you can write "common portugese phrases"

  • You have to come to Portugal Ingrid. Definitely try our gastronomy, like "arroz de sarrabulho", I just love it!

This, is a link to a video where you can learn some common portuguese phrases, I know the girl is a little weird, but I think the video is just fine. Try it, and then say something.

    kisses

  • if i ever get the chance to study abroad, i want to go to italy. ive been wanting to go to italy since i was like 6

  • i LOVE brussels! and also, if youre going to the top of the eiffel tower bring like 5 coats, its so cold up there (at least when i went it was) lol.

  • have you ever been to chicago

  • You should have come to Scotland ;)...xx

  • I did an exchange in 2002 when I had just turned 18, to Germany for the year. It wasn't done often back then. You are the first person other than myself, whom shared my open minded and positive attitude about the experience. I lived with a family for a year and of the 52 student that went that year through EF, only 3 stayed with the same family or didn't go home early. Unbelievable huh? I guess adaptation is extremely difficult for some.

  • when she was talking about safety i bet she was thinking of the movie taken haha

  • Do you still keep in contact with the friends you made?

  • I live in Belgium & glad to hear that you liked here :D

  • My friend and I planning to go to Paris next year. I'm already excited. I love Paris already :) But we're not studying there, just visiting. Still.

  • i'm going to study in a boarding school in UK in the coming sept...

    i'm so excited about that(:

but in fact at first my mom and dad strongly disagree with my suggestion of studying abroad...

i'm from hong kong and there's quite a lot of peple study overseas in my school...

at first i wasn't interested in studying overseas but one day, i just really want to study abroad, meet people from all over the world...

i hv joined study tour twice when i was 9 and 13.

hope i will get to use my new life...

  • thumbs up if ingrid in the future send u here(:

  • Well yes european men are more forward than americans and cadadians BUT it's mostly just Italians and the englishmen.. That's what I've experienced anyways =)

  • I live in Belgium and I would love to study in California one day! :)

  • Good old fish and chips in London! :)

  • you're an only child? isn't alexa your sister?

    great vid'!

  • You went to UCL? No way! That's impressive :)

  • i watched the entire video!

  • I'm going to stay 9 months in london soon =)

  • I really want to study abroad one day! =)

  • i think just being a student and being able to have independance aswell as getting the best friends, seems really fun. So doubling it up with a new country and beautiful scenery would just be amazing! When i'm old enough this is what i'm going to try and do; or atleast study somewhere further enough away from home so it isn't as expensive but you get the similar experience as you would being abroad.

  • Did you ever go up to Scotland when you

Were in England? If not then you should next time it's great especially Glasgow:)

  • I live about an hour train ride from London and I've only been a handful of times on day trips. Now you've made me want to go.

  • Would you beleive me if I told you I was against studying aboard and now Im going to switzerland just because I watched this video? Haha love u ingrid!

  • @hapili4eva i live there =D hihi have fun :)

  • No way, architecture is my major too! You got me even more interested in studying abroad!!!!

  • It's oficial, ur my role model!

  • i actually remember being speachless when i went to italy and germany, cuz of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the history behind them, and yes specially italian guy are like that. i remember, one italian guy wanted to marry me at the train station haha, wtf!

  • YOu're so articulate Ingrid ;) love your videos!

  • I plan to study abroad, but if that doesn't work out I want to go to london and base there for like a year, and like travel all over europe(: it's one of my goals.

  • Have you ever been in Denmark? Or just Scandinavia? :)

  • people tht are considering coming to england shouldnt just look at the typical london or scotland.. those places are great but explore other places as well like cheltenham.. bath.. wales.. cornwall ( for the beach) and liverpool and Manchester for shopping! enjoyed the video :)

  • Aww, she is such an Aquarius! :D

  • Remember how you said you wanted to write a book, how about a travel book on your experiences? (: It would combine your main hobbies. Writing + Traveling = SUCCESS haha <3

  • I'm the same way. I'm not attached to my home either. I just feel that there are so many other amazing places out there to see (:

  • OMG you are so lucky you went to UCL. I had the hardest time trying to get acepted, not for the undergraduate, but for the foundation.eventually I was not accepted. Now I hope I will study in Uni of Liverpool.. Do you know anything about it?? I think it is a pretty good uni. If I am lucky enough I will do my RIBA 2 at UCL coz I want it desparately :(
