@barlowisstupid not directly, but they are both in the same franchise, the Tales series had 13 installments in it, going back from the ps1 generation if I recall, and about half of the series has animes come out of them. Tales of Legendia is possibly their least popular game that I know of. It's just not for everyone

Just bought the 3DS version, cant wait till it comes. I downloaded PCSX2 and the ISO just to try it out (because i can never wait). I played through Vesparia but never had the chance to with this game because it was never released in europe, until it came out on the 3DS. I'm quite exited!

@freeg0d yes, it is possible, they have it at my gamestop, but i live in memphis, dont know about anywhere else, but its highly recommended for the ps2 and not the 3ds, i just dont see how a tales game could be sold on the ds platform

Never played a Tales Of before, and without even knowing the game nor the series, I got it for 3DS. I wasn't convinced at the beginning, but it soon conquered me. I just LOVE this game! It's long, intriguing, the characters and their development are cool, the combat system is nice, and there are lots and lots of things to discover (too bad that you can miss permanently some of them if you lose the event).

Great game, for anyone who doesn't know it, I would recommend it.

I haven't played this game (yet that is.... 3DS version for me!) but it almost looks like this is before or after tales of vesperia. of course the chances of there being a real timeline in the tales series seems kinda slim (symphonia 1&2 excluded), I'm just basing this off of the looks of characters. also this main character (name anyone?) is left-handed just like yuri which is awesome (of course yuri may be ambidextrous).

@MetroidsEATYou It's not really in the same world as Vesperia, but for the sake of the argument, it would be "before", as in Abyss, there is no summon spirits yet. Also, the main character is named Luke fon Fabre. Comparing it to Vesperia, Luke is more like Flynn after a while.

@mkwam yeah i can see where you would make that assumption but then id have to ask where symphonia would be placed, that is assuming there would be a chronological order. kratos was in vesperia, not as that illusion but a legend that you get told by that sage that gets you access to the dungeon of memories or whatever and yet, in symphonia, there are all the summon spirits. what's your opinion on this? did estelle name the spirits after the summon spirits because they are legends in vesperia?

Tales of Symphonia => Tales of Symphonia 2 => Tales of Phantasia

Tales of Destiny => Tales of Legendia => Tales of Rebirth => Tales of Graces

Tales of Vesperia => Tales of the Abyss => Tales of Eternia => Tales of Hearts
