First time I heard this band was 6 years ago and their music ages like a fine wine. It will never be dated, EVER! This song stirs up the deepest emotions in me. Respect to Jakob and all their music it is simply phenomenal. The masses don't know what they're missing out on.

This is a different version of the ESP Horizon Jeff uses, just google it. It's been almıst 6 or 7 years since ESP discontinued these guitars unfortunately. On the other hand I wrote the stock pickups so the best way to learn is asking if there is a change or not.

I really get sick of people bringing up Explosions In The Sky with every band related to post-rock. They didn't invent the genre. There were plenty of bands around before them like Bark Psychosis and Slowdive doing this, and there are a ton of bands doing it better than they do...Jakob and God Is An Astronaut being two of them.
The thing is that Jakob sound a lot like Explosions in the Sky. So that does not make them unique or original, but their music is still quite good. It's a trip. Actually it's best not to use the word "trip". It's a journey. A journey through the mind and emotions. It's special in that way, but it's not really entertainment. And that is a good thing.

Honestly though, walking out of Tool, as amazingly talented and beyond good they are, I always walk out of a Karnivool gig feeling a better vibe. I think the Vool's music must speak to me more.

Jakob captures the human experience in music better than anyone else. I'm studying to be a Christian theologian and missionary and though this is likely a secular band, I think Jakob really relates the essence of God in their music.

I would love to see an advert, played at peak time, say when X factors on and this should be the sound track. It would be played over footage of all the suffering, wars and injustice that is going on right now throughout the world.Then maybe, just maybe, the human race would awaken and realise that life is precious and we must live each and every day together as one. Love it. But I have to say this, it really makes me annoyed when people say certain types of music are this and that and you should listen to this because its better or saying a certain genre sucks, because it kills me because their so close-minded and most of them have never listened to that type of music because it has a stereotype. Jakob music and cds was one of the best thinks i met from my one year trip in New Zealand. And do you know anything about New Zealand landscapes and the kiwi people ?? They both are just amazing... well, listening Jakob is even a better feeling and one of the best experiences.

@DakarRaider Jakob is amazing man...I used to listen to Mogwai all the time but Jakob is much more appealing to me after listening to all of their albums for the last 3 years. Listen to their albums, "Cale:Drew", "Subsets of Sets", and of course..."Solace." You will not be disappointed.
Yeah, Jakob rock! I'd highly recommend listening to malachite of theirs as well (there's a live version on YouTube as well!) - saint is gorgeous as well, though very minimalistic.

I visited parts of the Karakoram last year. Had "Solace" on a lot of times on my mp3 player. The music dovetailed magnificently with the scenery.

Rap is expression and therefore always a mirror for social states for expirence and the same, the content of this music is just a catalyst and thus we should ask for the reasons in society and not just easly judge. It is very much commercialised and therefore must have been disered by many people so the dispostion must have been there before.

@saltwaterloveee dude, its so sad, like im close to my old man, so i did feel empethic towrdars the father and son in the book, its quite short like 300 pages, and is easy to read and put down and pick up again, but it does make you think, that it could happen, and it would be similar to the road, the book is far better or more elborate then the film, it tells you alot more about the father and boy, and what there really going through, the film has took just the action scenes from the road
